He hasn't reduced the wage bill, that's a myth that really needs to be dispelled. Our wage bill is only reduced because we paid off players who had been given massive contracts, or sent them out on loan with likely only a fraction of their wage here being paid by the other club. Our huge wage bill was not GB's fault, but he's not done anything to reduce it either. It was arguably impossible to do so, as no other club was going to pay the wages we were paying the likes of Murphy, Etuhu, Orr, Best, and so on.

On the other hand maybe a good man manager might have utilised his resources better and got the likes of Best playing for him.?

But yes you are right GB has spent every last penny he has been given, despite not needing too and at the expense of the academy kids.

Givet,Pedersen,Rochina and Formica all left whilst Bowyer was in charge (99% sure) which I guess is a considerable amount off the wage bilI but point granted we've spent a sh*t load in paying players off! I dread to think of the exact amount, and it's even worse that the players we've paid off were all rubbish for us.

If you are tired of the justified negativity and you want a dose of detatched reality with a patronising air of superiority (how they mock this forum) head to Roverstalk where everything is hunky dory and unicorns slide down rainbows.

quite a revealing comment that answers a few things in regard to bowyers team selection policy- The coach was very honest; he told me he preferred to use players that he could rely on next season.- bryan dabo speaking about bowyer.

Like Liam Feeney? Or maybe Michael Keane.

More 'quality not that bad football', eh?

Brown utterly useless and why did he not give at least one of the youngsters some game time? (Because he's a coward).

Insult to injury to hear him talking about players being watched by other people and their aspirations to play at a higher level.

Tantamount to admitting we have zero ambition.

Surprised nobody else has picked up on this.

It wasn't just a throwaway line.

I've never heard a manager say his players should be impressing the visiting scouts if they have ambitions to play at a higher level.

I don't know whether I'm insulted or just bemused and baffled

He's a development squad man and that's all he can find to come up with to try and motivate them. I always get the impression from him that he's desperate to sell players despite the tripe he comes out with when the owners have turned down a bid. No doubt it's to justify his job and prob a nice little commission as well.

Our wage bill for the 2012/13 season must have been insane for a Championship club. Incredible that after coming down with players on huge contracts we not only retained a load of them but then added even more PL level wages in Etuhu, Murphy and Best... it's little wonder we've ended up in a financial black hole. We didn't even get transfer fees for Givet or Pedersen, and I can't imagine we made our money back on Rochina or Formica.

Post match interview on Radio Lancs '' we haven't given up , there is only 12 points in it and a lot can happen in the remaining games ''. In the name of God !!!

Just listened, against my better judgement, and it was the interviewer who said 12 points when in fact it's 13.....actually 14 if you consider our crap goal difference.

So 14 points to make up, 21 points to play for, 4 teams have to have mares whilst we pick some form out of our ass. As Kean once said "Not a chance

we need another in/out poll :)

and yet again we find Chaddy having to defend himself against idiots because he supports the club, and is passionate about it.

Have a word with yourselves, he’s not the enemy FFS.

Send in Abbey, I'd give him 60 minutes before he got booted :D

the quote is from the Rovers fan forum that took place on the 9th March.

regardless of what it means for the club?

the club I've supported for over 25 years and the club I have been a season ticket holder for the past 17 years. I attend every home league game.

have a moan or dig at me but DON'T EVER QUESTION FOR LOYALTY AND PASSION FOR THIS CLUB. I will always support my team through the good and bad times and I won't give up on my CLUB!!!

Chaddy, take no notice of the pack who hound you for having an opinion. This is a forum and you are entitled to have your own opinion. Stick with it and just ignore the insults. If all folk can do is insult you then speaks volumes about them and nothing about you. Sadly, the moderation on this board has gone to pot and the quality of the board with it. Each and everyone who posts on here is entitled to a view without having insults hurled out them.

I wouldn't mind if he did have "an" opinion. The trouble is he's had 3 on Bowyer in the last few weeks and generally changes with the wind on any thread.

Sorry am I not allowed to change my mind.

I have change my view.

But this summer the squad is going have to reshape with a few 1st team players out of contract who are likely to leave(I would only re-sign Kilgallon) and Gestede and maybe Rhodes leaving. I hope Bowyer will be given some cash from sales but mainly is going to reshape the squad with Loans and Free transfers. if we sold sold Gestede for 6 mil and Rhodes for 8 to 10 mil then hopefully given Bowyer some of that cash like 5 million pounds

I don't like to see anyone getting personal abuse or bullied, (regardless of their opinions), but I also get annoyed when I see someone playing the role of victim.

At the end of the day we are talking about supporting a football club, not saving lives or doing something amazing for humanity.

Perspective.

I'm not sure Bowyer or any manager would get that kind of money to spend due to the restrictions of the embargo. One would think the money would go to getting the running costs down so the embargo could be lifted at some point during next season.

But Chaddy doesn't that seem to you to be wasting the biggest chance we've had to go up. Two of the best forwards in the league both leaving, yet with them we've been nowhere near playoffs? Doesn't that seem like a wasted opportunity? What grounds is there for optimism when the man who has the strikers he has at his disposal can't get us near promotion? What makes you feel he's going to perform better without them? Get players who suit his tactics - that'd be a first? Can't see how the manager isn't to blame for this

Granted our board, the club hierarchy in general, the players who are enjoying easy street, and mostly our owners must all shoulder some blame, but surely someone as influential - and in Rovers case as worryingly powerful - as the manager must take a lot of the blame for this. If not then what the heck is he doing there if he has no influence?
