ABBEY Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 How was it negative? Ihave been brought up with a winning mentalty in everything and I believe you should try and win in everything you do. We didnt try to win last night ,we tried to get penalities. I would have a big win if we had. During the game i am not arsed over the bet ,i just want to win.I wouldnt care if its Barca I still want us to try and win. Simple matter is 180 mins we scored 0 goals and didnt win .

tomphil Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Someone told me different so I don't know but he has done it before with Steele and I saw that so wouldn't have been surprised. Had it confirmed that it was on the live commentary on R Lancs so someone miss read it one way or another.
Amo Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Wait... Bowyer actually tried to stop Eastwood from going up for a corner in the dying minutes? On another day that shot from Eastie goes in and we take them to extra time. Wouldn't have happened if he had listened to Boring Bowyer. Bowyer: Win FA Cup for Stevie G *gag*

Bowyer: Win FA Cup for Stevie G *gag* I'd absolutely love it (sorry to go all Keegan) if Arsenal smashed Liverpool in the final. I cannot stand Gerrard or that football club. This whole media offensive going on about 'winning if for Gerrard' is vomit-inducing.
den Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Bowyer got his tactics spot on tonight. He went 4-4-2 after 60 mins or so. It was nil nil and he made a positive change and went for it. . At the time he changed to 4-4-2 Chaddy, we were holding up well. We were struggling to get enough posession granted, but that change of tactics, at that time, simply demonstrated how he has no idea of how to change a game for the better. From that point we conceded the midfield to L'pool. They dragged us all over the park from then on. A good manager, seeing his team holding their own at home to a far superior bunch of players - and the game still at 0-0 - would surely have allowed Rogers to make the first move, then try to outthink him. It looked like another pre-planned 60 minute substitution that took no account of what was happening on the field.
Rover_Shaun Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 You wouldnt want to be DJ'ing in Southport when they go out
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 He's going to be the second unsackable manager of the Venky's tenure, like Kean before him Bowyer will probably have to walk or be forced to resign. He will no doubt be flying to India with his flip charts and power point presentations laying out the plan for promotion next season. Venky's will lap this up as they can't see through the BS and will rule out sacking him for another season. We have been through this all before and we all know what to expect.

Gestede won almost every header when he came on. Bowyer went for the win.

The only question is how many fans can stomach another 46 games of GB's Blackburn Rovers?
ABBEY Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 boreya went for the win ? Oh aw reet then . Chaddy are you drunk ?
JBiz Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 boreya went for the win ? Oh aw reet then . Chaddy are you drunk ? No but it's obvious that you where ast night.I'd call being still in the game with a top 5 prem club with 60 mins, then putting a striker on for a midfielder a positive attacking change. You can carry on your hate on here but at least try to conform to some logic.

Next season, Bowyer needs to get us into the top 6. Very happy for him to continue next season. He must bring pace to the side and bring quality replacements if Rhodes or Gestede leave. You wanted Bowyer out a few weeks ago... I still want shut of him he's not the one to take us up Have to disagree there. Bowyer went for a positive change. Gestede won almost every header when he came on. Bowyer went for the win. Couple of Liverpool fans In know well said as soon as the tactical change there was no doubt as who'd go on and win as it gave Liverpool even more space... Gutted as so near so far But IMHO it's been a season wasted cup apart He's going to be the second unsackable manager of the Venky's tenure, like Kean before him Bowyer will probably have to walk or be forced to resign. DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Nothing positive about surrendering midfield JB. I thought this - but when you looked at the bench and also take into account that Conway wasn't fully match fit - I think his hand was forced.

Den - Conway obviously wasn't match fit - we only had two regular first team players on the bench - what change would you have made ? Wait until Conway was so ineffectual that players just ran past him - or try bringing on a fresh pair of legs ? You are possibly right that it was pre-planned - possibly around how long they felt they could get out of Conway. If we had loads of options on the bench I might agree with you - but last nights game we struggled to put out a team, let alone having a bench that would make an impact (Gestede apart).
Backroom DE. Posted April 9, 2015 Author Backroom Posted April 9, 2015 Our players do indeed seem very poorly conditioned and susceptible to injury.

I would have made a straight swap - Gestede for Rhodes. After that DMTP, I would have let Rogers make the move. For me Bowyer pre plans his subs. You can only really come to the conclusion it's because tactically he's still an academy coach.

Admittedly Bowyer didn't have loads of options but he could have done things not to surrender the midfield.
Gav Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Our players do indeed seem very poorly conditioned and susceptible to injury. No excuses for lack of fitness but the injury situation isnt as bad as it was under Hughes if memory serves me correctly, Stoke have similar problems by all accounts.

At least under Hughes we had decent players to pick up the pieces. As last night's bench showed, that is no longer the case here. One of the reasons Burnley went up last season was because they had incredible fitness and players were rarely injured. It makes a huge difference.
Blue blood Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I think this would have happened had Baptiste not been injured. There were 15 minutes between the two substitutions. Also how bad must Song'o be if we'd rather change the whole shape of a team that was working rather than put him on?

I agree on Songo'o, zero point in that signing for him NEVER to play for the first team.....
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 There's always been on this board a herd mentality around the sure-fired solution of the day. Getting Kean out was the answer. Then Anderson. Then Agnew. Then Shebby. Then the likes of Murphy. Then all the Portugueezers. Now it's Bowyer; just get him out and this squad of top notch players will walk this crap league, just you see. I think he's a pretty average manager in this league, but I don't think he's the reason we're not in the Premier League. But anyway, back to the script...
