Just realised our season is mathematically over and the team need to win the last 4 games to achieve their new fun target of beating last seasons points total (according to Spurr). So as that is as likely as me waking up in the morning with Stana Katic what is the new ambition? I suggest drawing every game and being the first team ever to draw 46 games in a season

Unfortunately, Charlton are four ahead of us at the moment. If we can draw all our remaining games, providing they win or lose all theirs, we could be equal Championship Draw Champions 2014/15. EXCITING TIMES.

I'm much more interested in this unbeaten away run than the undefeated run of last year. Suggests a growing resilience, confidence and certainly a decent team spirit. It's tough away from home in any sport. Just a thought in amongst the general struggle.

very true, we no longer capitulate away from home like we have done for years. Progress

We cant be telling them, well done for a point away from home, although it does extend the unbeaten away record to eight games, said Bowyer.

I should be talking about how professional and ruthless we were in both boxes and how weve won the game convincingly.

I think Gary Rowett has done a terrific job here and when you come to St Andrews you know they aren't going to stop.

We had to go out in the second half in the way we started the first half but I dont think we quite did that.

"When they equalised you saw us go again and that is what we've got to get away from. They've got to really learn to drive it home.

The games that we've let slip this season have been costly to us in terms of what we have wanted to do.

We have to start now to make sure that it doesnt repeat itself in the next four games as weve got to come out of the traps next season ever so fast.

Some of the football tonight was great, the chances we created, the possession we had, but we should be talking about winning the game, that is the frustration that I feel.

If you look at the results in the top six tonight you see why they are in the top six away wins, clean sheets. Thats what weve got to be really gearing towards.

More Pune propaganda? I've checked it twice and can't see it.

You cannot compare us to any of those three clubs PB....

Blackpool Screwed up

Wigan behind the scenes issues in a big way

Millwall - dont really know their problems

But none of the above have Rovers resources or are likely to

if your happy to be doing OK in a battle for the coveted ninth/tenth place spot and watching the total dross be on display week in week out then thats your perogative

as for taking us forward hes taking us backwards....

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/12887732.Rovers_boss_Bowyer_keen_to_visit_India_for_Venky_s_transfer_embargo_talks/

off to Bullshit

What???? Which of the above are in hock to almost 100m and under a transfer embargo?

Has anyone even hinted as much?

Fair enough interview, nobody really cares about an unbeaten away run if it gets us nowhere but if he is recognising the issues for what they are and trying to address those issues you can't expect much more from him.

How about showing a bit of bottle, acknowledging we cannot achieve the play offs and his role in that latest outcome. Is it acceptable to plod on mid table with his squad at this level of expenditure? He cites a lack of ruthless professionalism and missed opportunity as the reason for failing to do what we "wanted to do". That's it, all we get, then straight onto starting fast next season, seemingly without a care in the world. Is he untouchable? Is he held to a playing or financial target? If the sole aim is increasing player values, then maybe he is a theoretical success. If it's anything on pitch related things look much the same as last year. Just 20 million worse off and growing concerns ahead.

next season Gav next season.

PREDICTION....down where wigan and pool are now & the Rovers Fans banging on about Gary being the man to get us in the Championship.

Next season we probably need a new manager who can invigorate a @#/? squad of players and organise us for the forthcoming and inevitable relegation battle. However I can't readily think of a top one one who will even consider coming to work in a madhouse with a load of spoilt fans with illogical and unrealistic expectation. I can only expect worse candidates and assorted chancers.

Can you suggest any Abbey? .... and please don't suggest either Holloway or Tugay again. :P

I fully agree with Matty's response to this.

Poor fitness and injuries has been a staple-mark of Bowyer's tenure. It'd be easy to say "well this is the market that we are in now" (EDIT) since all we seem to sign are crocks, but look at Burnley. Burnley, under the guidance of Dyche (and during Howe's stint) are a perfect example of how a good manager can make a huge difference. They brought in the right players for cheap, kept players fit, kept a settled line-up and walked to promotion whilst playing good football.

Sorry Parson, still just excuses to me.

Turf's never full. I'm sure you and the other Burnley lovers can still get tickets easily enough.

The thing is the BRFCC hate mob go after Bowyer after every single interview he gives, whatever he happens to have said.

Or he could stop doing interviews and the same posters would crucify him for not communicating with the fans.

I don't know when it will stop, perhaps people will get bored and find a new hobby ... because in all likelihood Bowyer will still be the manager in 365 days time, and if every press conference reported in the LT generates 4 pages of bile across multiple topics then you might as well shut this thing down.

Amen to that.

This mb used to be called BRFCS.... the 'S' obviously being supporters. Very very few of those supporters around these days now that the Premier League glory days are behind us. Now it's BRFCC with the 'C' being pretty obvious to me. Late 60's discontent all over again. Could it be hereditary?

PB your defending the undefendable...

The table isn't lying.. GB is

a decent manager - clearly better than those below us in the division. Too many folk have unrealistic expectations and if Bowyer was replaced, the first time a new man went to Pune he would be accused of being a puppet of the owners. The simple fact is many won't accept any manager whilst Venkys are the owners. However, as nobody is likely to buy us they are the only game in town and the best hope of the club continuing at least at Championship level. Tonight again, showed that we becoming harder to beat away from home - remember this was a Brum side who beat Wolves on Saturday. Decent foundations are being put down at Academy and Under-21 level which will, hopefully, benefit us in time to come. After the mess we were in there are definite signs of progress since Bowyer took over. FFP hasn't helped and is likely to hinder immediate progress until wages can be brought into line with income - we simply can't afford £30,000 and £40,000 a week players on our income levels. We could so easily have imploded like Wigan but we haven't. We have maintained a decent position within this League and have a foundation on which to build.

I'm one of his sternest critics but even I'll admit his tenure has been far from a disaster.

However, to me it's clear that he's taken us as far as he can and that we are now in a gradual decline, (which may be hastened depending on player sales this Summer).

The football at Ewood has been neither pretty or effective and that will be reflected in season ticket sales.

Obviously it has to be the right man, but I'm convinced that someone else could do better and have us in the play off shake up.
