The darker that sky gets when it finally comes it will be harder to recover .

My personal view is unless we get promotion something will happen next summer as the parachute payments will be over.. I don't know what or how but just got that feeling...

The parachute money is already used up, we took out a loan last year to cover some of the 2014-2015 expenses. There is no parachute money going into the coffers this season so I expect big changes this summer.

Ok, let's see then how much he goes for.

A player is only worth what some other club will pay.

The world has moved on. £6million for Rhodes plus a couple of million extras is probably as good as it will get.

That U21 story, the one that was going to 'break' a few weeks ago - any news?

A more loyal dyed in the wool Rovers fan you'll not find, despite his views and opinions, he deserves more respect on here.

Especially from someone who couldn't find Ewood Park without a satnav.

(apologies to roverzee whose post I have just read).

Alan Nixon's story in today's Sun

Boro want Rhodes in 6 million pounds deal plus a massive promotion bonus.

Ha! Well apart from not being a story about both Rhodes and Gestede my spoof article was bang on the money.

6m? Do us a favour. File that one in the "Nixon Ribtickler" envelope along with his Bolton, Wigan and anywhere on loan last transfer window "scoops".

And you tell us that you are undecided whether to renew your ST or not Abbey. If the likes of you are packing in then the club has to find an alternative future policy.

:rover:

Times creeping up on the Blackburn faithful and fast... do they purchase the ticket and allow the debt to spiral out of control or do they sit it out and force the owners hand.

And you have to wonder, if the owners are actually putting their own money in, why they needed to borrow against the parachute payments.

I've never seen any evidence of this specific loan against the final parachute payment, could one of you find it and post it? Thanks.

Ian Battersby said the debt isn't secured against the club, we all heard it on radio Lancashire, why would he tell fibs?

He also said as I recall that we don't know whether venkys , who own all the Club assets , will come back and use them to repay themselves if they are taking a hit. It was that uncertainty that I am sure he said was the scary bit even though it might not be secured against Club assets. The fact that they own them and could therefore do with them whatever they wanted was where he had a massive issue , as we all do.

Probably was the Raya moving to PL Club.

But he signed a new contract at Rovers

Chaddy did you find that Ian Battersby interview? Be interested to listen to that again a couple of months down the line.

Chaddy you're off your head mate. The entire playing squad hasnt got enough value to pay off enough debt to see us get out of FFP. Why on earth you keep talking about selling players to get us out of FFP is beyond me.

Thanks for that Gav, but I long since stopped taking Amarillo seriously. He is a first class wind up merchant and when it comes to spouting gibberish he is the undisputed expert! ^_^

I may be wrong but I seem to remember the loan against the next parachute had a payback date on it for this year so maybe it's been squared now. Or it'll swallow it up when the payment comes in. Mercer ??? :)

I really do worry about us next season, if teams like Bolton can go in for Gary hooper on loan and we are going for leon Clarke ..who I've seen play live...is just..worrying

I'm constantly seeing teams linked with some decent players ect and we are just doing nothing and on about selling cairney rhodes and gestede

Do sent look good at the minute

Care to admit another incorrect rumour Mercer?

When Raya signed his contract I did ask Mercerman if he had been the U21 player who was about to be snapped up by a Premier League club but he called me an imbecile and said no.

Dont think we have to pay off the debt to get out of FFP - just get the year on year losses down to something more reasonable.

Does anyone know when the FFP ban will be looked at again, i.e. when consideration will be give as to whether the ban will be scrapped (forget the QPR legal case)?

Leeds have already had their ban lifted, so I am guessing you can submit what's needed now. I don't know if there is a deadline or anything. All i have ever read is "in the summer"

The embargo will be lifted when it suits the Football League. Only when they are satisfied will it be lifted, and my money is that we have quite a while of this to endure yet. Especially when they need one or two clubs punished to use as an example to others.

Perhaps the QPR issue will be our best chance of having it lifted in the near future, although even if QPR win their appeal, they could treat our situation as a separate case altogether, which could require our own challenge which would take time. It also depends on what exactly QPR are challenging. If they are challenging the whole concept of FFP then that obviously applies equally to us, in which case if they win that directly helps our own cause (and also begs the question of why we haven't bothered to take any legal advice on challenging it sooner). However, if QPR are merely challenging the punishment handed to them i.e. the massive fine then our situation has very little to do with that.
