West Yorks Rover Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 At the end of the day, we have not taken action in the face of FFP coming and we have not mitigated it through clever finances. BUT, it's completely unfair that QPR can carry on as normal whilst the legal action takes place. Rovers should have launched legal action themselves but, again, we are not savvy enough. Well, either that or it's a great excuse for people at the club. If there is a legal challenge to FFP then any sanctions in places as a result should be suspended. Particularly as it is only affecting two clubs. Cheers Kamy. But I can't understand, for the life of me, this statement: "Bowyer has been a long time admirer of Stoke right back Andy Wilkinson, the player has been released by Stoke so if budgets allow it is likely that Rovers would move for him, especially as it looks like Alex Baptiste will be remaining at Bolton". Surely any plans to sign a full back are not in any way related to Baptiste's availability. If Bowyer has ANY thought that Baptiste is anything but a starting CB then it just goes to further show that he is NOT learning. Is Andy Wilkinson injury prone ? He doesn't seem to have played many games in his 10/11 years at Stoke, and only 5 in the league over the last 2 seasons, apart from 9 for Millwall on loan.

tugay5 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Paul Taylor ( loan last season ) linked with a move to dean Saunders chesterfield! Friend of a friend knows Alex baptise and says Lennon had talks with him and rates him highly so don't think we have much chance of getting him back
arbitro Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Dodged a bullet thankfully. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32985924
Stuart Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Always the revert to the "bone of contention"... :-) Did it not help having baptiste available to play both positions? We both know that good squads have those players in abundance. Baptiste was good in both positions last season but it's worth remembering we have Duffy, Hanley and Killa already. I'm not going to ignore it just to make you feel more comfortable- especially when it sticks out like a sore thumb. Baptiste is a centre back, not a full back. He is a square peg out there. It's all a moot point as we won't see him in blue and white again sadly, but our CB priority should have been: Kilgallon Baptiste Duffy Henry Spurr Lenehan C Taylor Hanley (I jest - but only slightly) Bowyer had Hanley top and Baptiste behind Duffy and Henry. Instead of bringing in another loan CB (Henry) he should have brought in a full back.
chaddyrovers Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Transfer Update: http://www.brfcs.com/2015/06/02/rovers-transfer-update/ Thanks for the update Kamy and very appreciated. Chaddy you was creaming over nickos article on boro the other day, does this now mean you think nickos posts crap ? I reported Nicko Article on this website. what your problem? Nicko has never said he was off or be sold. BUT he reported that Boro want Rhodes Sammy Ameobi From Newcastle latest .... Newcastle offered him a new contract but Rovers interested ....Freebie Thanks Unleaded for this info. Ameobi would be good signing. lets hope we can sign this player. he can play up front and wide The owners have turned down bids. Ha! Got to laugh at you chaddyrovers for coming out with this bunkum. Jal, more the same old posts. did we NOT turned down bids from Hull for Rhodes and from Palace for Gestede last season?
Athlete Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Dodged a bullet thankfully. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32985924 Thank goodness he's utter garbage

imy9 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 So is nicko full of crap or what ? No more or less full of crap than any other journo. He said McDonald was going to Blackpool yesterday.

Mercer Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Nicko is best in the business round here at what he does.
ada2020 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Nicko is best in the business round here at what he does. You mean being wrong?
Mercer Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 You mean being wrong? His range of contacts is phenomenal. I've always said that football is like no other industry in that only a tiny fraction of what is discussed in each club ever comes to fruition. Nicko tells you what is going on and what is being considered. If you like reading history, try the LT and Wheelock.
thenodrog Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Alternatively if you like fantasy football try reading Mercerman.

blueboy3333 Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 Roverzee at it again you called me a tit t'other week. You may have been right but let's not get precious when someone posts something a lot less offensive than you.
roverzee Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Roverzee at it again Which of those five words have upset you?
joey_big_nose Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Looking at his stats sammi ameobi doesn't look that great. 2 goals in 50 odd appearances as a winger. However not seen him play so suspending judgement. Anyone got an opinion? Is he pacy?

But fans are not ultimately bothered in the ' what ifs ' I'm sure especially currently at rovers what doesn't come to fruition far far outweighs the things that do so essentially Nixon can make a living of wild speculation based on the most tenuous details. He edges his bets to the highest level. You also appear to enjoy doing this on a lower level , you seem to be a fan of the odds too which supports this. Nobody really remembers the losing bet, it disappears in a puff of smoke.
ABBEY Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 mercer ..nicko is a rovers hating ,walter mitty bell end.
