thenodrog Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 yes Ive been reading a few articles saying that btw. good luck to him there I don't think the Newcastle fans will be happy about this Prob why Ashley's doing it then. Ashley = The Premier Leagues answer to the Oystons.
Athlete Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Prob why Ashley's doing it then. Ashley = The Premier Leagues answer to the Oystons. did you watch the sportsdirect documentary a few weeks ago he's shrewd and unscrupulous BTW who would want to work in his distribution centre..
Oldgregg86 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Based on what ? That Rhodes and Gayle or very similar players with not much between them except ones rapid and ones not
Rover_Shaun Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 And one can score and the other ones called Gayle
Oldgregg86 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I'd also swap Rudy&Marshall for HeskeyDo I detect a hint of sarcasm. I'm a fan of Rhodes but what I've seen of Gayle ( granted only on live games on sky and match of the day ) I just think he would offer more and be more of a threat. His movement and finishing is equal to Rhodes he's quicker and has proven he can do it in the premier league And one can score and the other ones called GayleGayle is more than capable of bagging 20 goals in the championship next season
Rover_Shaun Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Gayles stats suggest otherwise Whilst he would be worth a punt if offered as s makeweight valued at around 1m its taking it a bit far to be happy to swap. Gayle isn't even proven at Championship level. Another prem panic buy who should have developed a bit more before taking the step up, where he has struggled to make a real impact
AggyBlue Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 We have the divisions best goal scorer. I just don't get all this 'let's get rid and try 'so and so'
Oldgregg86 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Gayle was bought for 6 million scored 12 premier league goals in 19 starts. 2 goals in 3 starts in the fa cup and 4 goals in 2 starts in the league cup. So why he's now only worth 1 million is beyond me. Rhodes is yet unproven in the premier league and has yet to play week in week out against top defences. That's not to say he couldn't. A just think pound for pound Gayle has the better attributes
Rover_Shaun Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 With stats like that he will have a queue of Prem clubs. Sadly 12 in 48 apps and 6 in 20 championship apps doesnt seem so sparkly
perthblue02 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Don't worry browny will sort it Could get Gaz to get this forward coaching specialist in to solve the problem https://youtu.be/fiT0SviT0dA
Oldgregg86 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Just shows how easily stats are manipulated to prove a point by both of us. It boils down to preference. It would b a disaster if Rhodes left. With ffp etc it's going to take some stroke of genius to find someone of his quality on a shoestring but IMO gayle is the slightly better all round player
chaddyrovers Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Kamy has retweeted this on twitter Alan Biggs @AlanBiggs1 2 hrs2 hours ago Wary of rumours...but one circulating that Blackburn have rebuffed a #swfc approach for Ben Marshall might be close. I think he's a target Alan Biggs is a Sports reporter in the Sheffield area
AJW Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Wouldnt like to see Marshall leave because i do think he has quality , but he's frustrating to watch turning inside outside checking back turning inside once more ..... imagine what its like being a striker waiting for the cross to come in the box ,personally i think anything around £3m is a good fee for him

A bit like Osborne waiting until after the election to announce budget cuts.
Neal Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Ah, the days of losing players like Marshall to dross like Sheffield Wednesday. Let's hope it's all rubbish.
jim mk2 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Alan Biggs has been working the Yorkshire football beat for donkey's years so the Marshall story is likely to be true.

glen9mullan Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 The silence is deafening at Ewood at present . Silent owners , silent boardroom and the usual FFP comments from Bowyer. My season ticket renewal came through door last week , to date I have not even opened it I'm that disillusioned with our club at present . It's about time we had a statement of intent , rather than the "feeling sorry for ourselves comments"
Backroom Mike E Posted June 4, 2015 Backroom Posted June 4, 2015 Non-story really. Not even a bid rejected but just an approach.

I renewed 10 days ago my season ticket along with 4 other friends. are you likely to renew Glen?

I'm seriously considering not renewing , The club has shown under Venkys that it's a club with no soul , it's empty . I will see what the summer brings
