blueboy3333 Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Kamy has retweeted this on twitter Alan Biggs @AlanBiggs1 2 hrs2 hours ago Wary of rumours...but one circulating that Blackburn have rebuffed a #swfc approach for Ben Marshall might be close. I think he's a target Alan Biggs is a Sports reporter in the Sheffield area Marshall was very popular at SW with the fans when he was on loan there. Their new owner is ready to splash the cash. Here's an Alan Biggs article on what the future holds. I'd be very surprised if they didn't want someone like Marshall. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/sheff-weds/alan-biggs-at-large-getting-shirty-shows-dejphon-chansiri-is-serious-at-sheffield-wednesday-1-7292380

Damien Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I thought it wasn't permitted to sponsor your own club in order to get around FFP? Am I wrong about this?
Neal Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Interesting the owner sponsoring the shirts , if venkys wanted to get rovers out of an embargo they should of done the same (needs must) Pig ignorant, thick, not interested, or all 3... Take your pick.
LDRover Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Mines unopened to And mine. To be honest, the cost for them all in our house would cover a much needed week in the sun. It's a close call.
tomphil Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Aside from Rhodes/Rudy I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of our players linked with a host of clubs for daft money this summer. Yet no real big bids being made at all, Cairney to Fulham for stupid money being an example. We've had gates dressed up to placate the Indians now it'll be fees and ghost interest in players. New strategy of the self preservation society, look at all these players value we are improving Mrs D, everyone is looking at them. The Marshall to Weds thing may be genuine but they'll be after him for peanuts and no more imo.
Stuart Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 My season ticket renewal came through door last week , to date I have not even opened it I'm that disillusioned with our club at present . It's about time we had a statement of intent , rather than the "feeling sorry for ourselves comments" Ha. Snap! I thought it was just me.We need something. I've called it different things at different times: a marque signing; a manager we can believe in; a spark on the pitch. But we definitely need Something.
tomphil Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Do I detect a hint of sarcasm. I'm a fan of Rhodes but what I've seen of Gayle ( granted only on live games on sky and match of the day ) I just think he would offer more and be more of a threat. His movement and finishing is equal to Rhodes he's quicker and has proven he can do it in the premier league Gayle is more than capable of bagging 20 goals in the championship next season Gayle's quick and no doubt has ability to tear it up in the Championship but he strikes me as a flair player. Rhodes is the man guaranteed to hit 15+ next season whether we are crap or not and not just when he feels like it, despite the song. Couldn't see Gayle putting it about for us every week if he was shunted up here.
Pedro Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Mine's unopened too. I've only missed one season since 1988 - even then I would stand on the hill a few times!!! Really not sure what to do. Mundane manager who promotes passionless play, which has helped create passionless support. Hardly something worth buying into.
glen9mullan Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 We usually have a poll about season the tickets , as there is only around 9000 season ticket holders nowadays be interesting how many have renewed , are considering renewing or considering not to ?
thenodrog Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 We usually have a poll about season the tickets , as there is only around 9000 season ticket holders nowadays be interesting how many have renewed , are considering renewing or considering not to ? Sod it. Lets all pack up and there will then be no BRFC ever again. That'll show them Injun feckers whats what wont it?
tomphil Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Well mine's opened. What struck me this time is no words from the chairman/women, MD, Chief whatever the flook they are these days. No rallying call from the manager just a letter from Blackburn Rovers the faceless, soulless club. No leaders anywhere in the whole set up, no figureheads on the pitch or anywhere else and the only real heroes may well leave. I'll renew but it's hard this season, never been so disenchanted with it all and that includes after relegations etc. I've been @#/? off and angry but at least that stirs the passion, now I'm a bit empty just like the vessel that is Rovers these days.
glen9mullan Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Sod it. Lets all pack up and there will then be no BRFC ever again. That'll show them Injun feckers whats what wont it? Correct me if I'm wrong (get confused with identities on here sometimes ) But didn't you pack in going and held the torch for others to do the same , before you decided to go back watching ?
Rover_Shaun Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Correct me if I'm wrong (get confused with identities on here sometimes ) But didn't you pack in going and held the torch for others to do the same , before you decided to go back watching ? Now you've gone and done it..........
Gav Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Sod it. Lets all pack up and there will then be no BRFC ever again. That'll show them Injun feckers whats what wont it? Not sure why but that just made me laugh out loud. feck it!
tugay5 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 The silence is deafening at Ewood at present . Silent owners , silent boardroom and the usual FFP comments from Bowyer. My season ticket renewal came through door last week , to date I have not even opened it I'm that disillusioned with our club at present . It's about time we had a statement of intent , rather than the "feeling sorry for ourselves comments" I agree glen , one minute we release a " premiership incentive " in season tickets. The next bowyer is harping on about the embargo killing us and saying Bolton etc can spend more than us. I feel they are lowering ambition already. Surely the target has to be promotion ? I feel like every season the club starts to convince the fans that we are lucky to be a mid table championship club !
den Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 There's one thing more than anything else that will see fans drifting away, - the belief that the clubs going nowhere.
jim mk2 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 There's one thing more than anything else that will see fans drifting away, - the belief that the clubs going nowhere. .... going down is going somewhere. I would imagine another relegation would see more disappear.
ABBEY Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Sod it. Lets all pack up and there will then be no BRFC ever again. That'll show them Injun feckers whats what wont it? lets don the plus fours then that will show em
martonrover Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Only reason I'll renew is that going to Rovers is something I do with my 80 odd year old Dad, (who wouldn't be able to go on his own). Above all, this manager simply doesn't spark any enthusiasm or excitement and the attendances will most certainly continue to decline under his watch. We're stuck in the usual hiatus waiting for Venky's to do something, eg manager not even been to discuss transfers. Preferably, sack him or if not sort out the plan ASAP. Pathetic.
den Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 .... going down is going somewhere. I would imagine another relegation would see more disappear. You were around during the oft mentioned 70's and 80's Jim. There was a genuine feeling of despair for many of those years. Claims of "no ambition" - "the club doesn't want promotion", not necessarily true, but nevertheless, that's how a lot of fans felt about the club. Today's fans preaching the stability line, the idea that we are a club that belongs "naturally" in the lower leagues, or that mediocrity is acceptable even for a short while, should understand that once that becomes the position again - for any length of time, progress will be infinitely harder.Wouldn't you say?
Gav Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 There's one thing more than anything else that will see fans drifting away, - the belief that the clubs going nowhere. I'm not sure i buy that den. I think the fact we're selling 9000 season tickets after being raped, pillaged and plundered says we have a loyal fan base that’s more than willing to support the club when the going gets tough. Traditionally the Blackburn public have been a fickle bunch, me included, but I can't ever see us getting 5000 gates again regardless of the circumstances. Yes going bust maybe one of those circumstances but that will NEVER happen.

Gav Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 You're telling me that gates won't fall if things continue as they are Gav? Time will tell den, but you reach a point where the die hards will attend no matter what, I feel we're at that point about now.
Athlete Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 You're telling me that gates won't fall if things continue as they are, or get worse Gav? Unfortunately think they're about to get worse as a lot of people I know are now saying they can't be bothered anymore sad but true apathy really is setting in We need some statement of intent at the very least but nothing seems forthcoming
