A few things puzzle me , one is hypothetically ..

What would happen if the owners were implicated with the investigation in Switzerland however tenous , what sanctions would the club face ?

Now , I believe the investigators are going for the big fish but hopefully a small one will get caught too..

This is far too balanced.

Bloody Everton Mafia :P

Balanced? When Chris Brown is a maybe instead of a flop?!?! That's pushing it.

More debatable are the successes like Taylor and Tunni. Neither made a massive impact in our season - hard to champion them as qualified successes.

Heck even the part raving about his success with a fee wasn't totally unbiased as though shrewd buys players like cairney and Marshall have had indifferent seasons.

What tipped me over the edge was the article below it - Bowyer relishes left back battle. What battle? Olsson head abd shoulders is above Spurr and should retain his place till injuries or poor performances. If he's not grasped that than Bowyer's further behind than I thought. Worrying...

yes ...but ..il say again ..from PAST mistakes ..

Spot on PAST mistakes like appointing a manager who's not up to getting us promoted, an incompetent chairman, a structure where the manager's only accountable to the owners, being nowhere near the playoffs and having no communication with the fans. Am glad all of that isn't continuing...

Adsfortheblues got it right about the 29 recruits now we read a counter version from Wheelock.

They list 6 hits and only two of em will play for us regularly in the future. That LT really is a joke

That's your interpretation of their motives.

It could be they didn't know any of the background stuff - this messageboard is only actively used by a tiny percentage of the fanbase, and even on here how many have seen "the dossier"?

It could be they thought the protests were the wrong strategy

It could be they thought the "Kean Out" message was the wrong tactic

?

Good god Eit! You didn't need to read the dossier to understand that the Club was being dismantled from top to bottom and that Kean was taking us down!

After all, we only escaped his first part-season on the last day! And that was from a position of safety.

What was the right tactic?

Kean Out was a red herring, he was a symptom of the real problem

Protests could never have achieved critical mass because there are no organizations of fans that could mobilize enough members. They relied on tens of thousands of individual fans each independently hearing about the problem, getting angry enough, hearing about the matches, agreeing it was a good tactic, and being able and willing to do so.

Our owners are a long way away and too rich to care about boycotts, falling crowds etc. Their only pressure point is the institutional shareholders in their businesses. Everything should have been directed to getting a negative message about the owners across to them.

I said all this at the time.

I appreciate that strategy without action is navel gazing, but action without strategy is wasted energy

That report is hilarious.

Lists Chris Taylor as a hit and then the opening line is that he's not been able to command a starting spot.

I suppose it defines right from the start how low the criteria for being a "hit" is.

Chris Brown doesn't look like a footballer to me, but I don't think we can judge him until next season as he's recovering from a serious injury. He's not really given the fans any reason to think he'll be a hit here, but I'll reserve judgement until next season.

Dann was awful in his first full season, some think he was awful throught his time here I know, but he'd just had a serious injury and he admits himself he was off the pace for his first season. I thought he was head and shoulders above anyone else in the defence and that was proven right with his form at Palace.

Spearing has been the biggest disappointment for me, Bowyer chased him for 12 months and finally managed to bring him here, but he was let down by a player that looks like he's lost his appetite for the game, sad really.

At that point in time **** needed removing from the club, he was doing more damage than the owners in my opinion at that stage. I firmly believe he was more than aware he was on his way out, so tied up cr@p buys with big deals as a parting shot, the mans a scum bag.

I'm baffled by some of the comments made today about whether the protests should have taken place or not. This rat destroyed the club, to a point where we'll probably never recover, if thats not a reason to protest I don't know what is. The fans who just sat back and let this happen should be embarrassed in my opinion.

As for those idiots in Pune, the only time they reacted to the fans calling for ****s head was when the gate went down drastically, can't remember the circumstances but they sat up and took note when the gate money went down, so filthy rich or not that did work.

Just proves what a clown reporter Wheelock is.. The LT has fallen faster than BRFC IMO
