JAL Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Breathtaking in naivety JAL. Really thenodrog. Wasn't it you that came up with the idea of taking over premiership Rovers and then taking the club to the cleaners yet you now advise that everyone should keep attending.

Amo Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 It really is what everyone should have done if they'd had any gumption abbey. So I'd have to say that it gave me lots of self respect and an unshakeable belief that I am always right. As subsequent events have proven. You've become a parody of yourself.
47er Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Let's just pile more and more debt on. It's Reet. We are and we will continue to. No suggestion that Venkys are paying off capital debt is there?
joey_big_nose Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I think all this talk about certain player's is just daft. No self respecting agent would allow one of his better players to sign for debt burdened BRFC.Regarding Gayle I agree. He clearly has much better offers out there than Rovers so that one isn't going to happen. However whether we can spend more than 10k a week on players - should we raise a lot from sales and reduce our wage bill - is likely to be very important. Premier league loans are likely to need more than 10k. For example, depending on the competition, should we go for Joe Garner and there a few clubs after him he may push for above that limit also. (I think he is on a free transfer right?). Same is the case for other in demand players. If we really are looking at 10k only irrespective of sales and wage bill reduction our options are very reduced. Edit - incidentally regarding Joe Garner he has scored goals wherever he has been with the one exception of Forest. Whoever we sign it needs to be someone of that ilk.Not a brown or a Varney. Personally I don't think there is a huge difference in goalscoring between League One and the Championship. In both leagues defences are generally weak. Though I haven't seen loads of League One so perhaps I am being presumptuous.

MCMC1875 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 No they're heaping more debts on.. IMHO they'll have an exit plan most likely next summer when the parachute payments have gone... Exit plan? The stuff of dreams. To sell you need a buyer. To find a buyer you need to set the right price, that's all there is to it.

Wish it was that easy. ..I don't think they'll get a buyer as at the moment the club is unsaleable as stated by various people.. I just have a hunch they'll exit in another way don't ask how as I don't have a cystal ball as how They'll leave the club but baring promotion ..Parachute money all gone why would they continue

The parachute money is irrelevant, it doesn't cover the losses the club is incurring and if they were in it for the money then Rhodes and Gestede would be long gone. Your theory makes no sense on any level. They'll leave when there's zero chance of promotion, hence why they've rejected bids for the likes of Rhodes. There's a lot of money to be made in the Prem. For that reason Bowyer might/should be on borrowed time if bids are rejected for Rhodes again this summer and we get off to a bad start to the season. The club should really be doing everything in it's power NOW to get Mick McCarthy in and tell him that Rhodes and Gestede won't be sold for another 12 months and that promotion is a must.

Well do you think they honestly came into it for the love of BRFC and not for the money ? As for theory there are many but none of us actually know what is correct If they want promotion it would make sense to go for a proven manager is this likely to happen ? As for Rhodes and Gestede they are worth what someone is willing to pay for em not what Venky's want.. IMO strikers especially with Jr's rate are priceless http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/crystal-palace-prepared-to-offer-15m-for-blackburn-rovers-striker-jordan-rhodes/ As for leaving they'll bin BRFC when they want to none of us know when or how.. Just my opinion says 12 months time unless we get promotion
47er Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I thought Blueboy had spent months getting stuck into those who wanted Bowyer out? Am I wrong? Plenty of support on here for McCarthy going back a while.

And this Blueboy is exactly the reason why Venkys have learnt nothing in their time here, why Venkys aren't interested in promotion and why until Venkys leave the club we'll go nowhere but down.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 9, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted June 9, 2015 Leon Britton out of contract at Swansea, think he might be worth a punt.....
G Somerset Rover Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Leon Britton out of contract at Swansea, think he might be worth a punt.....I saw that, but then I'd imagine that there would be a queue of admirers who could offer him well in excess of £10k pw. He'd certainly be able to put his foot on the ball in the middle of the park.
McClarky Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Leon Britton out of contract at Swansea, think he might be worth a punt..... What, the former Home Secretary. is he any good at football. Seem to remember being a bit overweight, not to mention dead.

He'd certainly be able to put his foot on the ball in the middle of the park. Possibly, he hasn't played for them for a while though, and was there from when they were in League 2 so might not necessarily want the most wages, just regular footy... Though he's not a sideways crab so Bowyer probably hasn't heard of him!
MCMC1875 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 What, the former Home Secretary. is he any good at football. Seem to remember being a bit overweight, not to mention dead.Bloody hell Neil! He were linked with allsorts allegedly?
perthblue02 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 What, the former Home Secretary. is he any good at football. Seem to remember being a bit overweight, not to mention dead. Will be in our wage price range then, depending on his agents demands and gatuities for the deal makers Britton and Brown up front - the BAB
LDRover Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 What, the former Home Secretary. is he any good at football. Seem to remember being a bit overweight, not to mention dead. I'd worry about the youth team if they exhumed and brought him in. Mind you, he is in our price range.

Have you been playing Championship manager again blueboy? It doesn't work like that. First off you should start by asking the agents of McCarthy Rhodes and Gestede whether any of them want to be at BRFC next season. IMO strikers especially with Jr's rate are priceless Hope I'm not being pedantic but Gestede's scoring rate is better than JR's. He scored 1 more goal off fewer appearances. I saw that, but then I'd imagine that there would be a queue of admirers who could offer him well in excess of £10k pw. He'd certainly be able to put his foot on the ball in the middle of the park. He'd be useless here. Whose he got to play all those nifty little one two's with?
T J Hooker Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 How many years has rhodes got left on his contract? Surely cant be more than 2, if he's not sold or had a contract extension soon his transfer fee value will start to plummet further.
rog of the rovers Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 If 9 clubs genuinely are interested in Rhodes then let the bidding war commence! As expected, a very quiet 6 weeks thus far since the season finished.
Stefan Hedgehog Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Well only foolish or mega rich clubs sign players before they are needed
