Has MM had to half the wage budget in his time at Ipswich?

Not sure, but I know that as of last Saturday Blackburn Rovers and Derby County have the two biggest squads in the league and Ipswich Town have the smallest squad in the league. Gary Bowyer has accumalated the vast majority of the Blackburn Rovers squad and Mick Mccarthy has accumalated the vast majority of the Ipswich town squad, with a much smaller wage budget and transfer budget (pre FFP ban) than Blackburn Rovers.

Who mentioned losing to burnley? That certainly had nothing to do with my opinion on bowyer. Losing to teams you don't want to lose to happens all the time. Bowyers results are not good enough overall, not in a one off game but spread over the season that's just gone and the previous season. You can't change a whole team of players but you can change a manager. You might make things worse, but we weren't that far behind most teams in most games last season. If we could have seen games out, killed teams off, we could have been up there, and that is a managers job. We need someone who can manage our team to do that. We may find someone less capable than bowyer but we just might find someone better. A couple of percent improvement in performance across the team might be enough. Surely we have to try

Have you completely disregarded the recent history of the club.

In fact, it's quite obvious to me that any change will be detrimental. They've never hired a proper manager what makes you think they will? Magic?

Also, Stuart amongst others mentioned Burnley.

I think it is likely that we would have made the play offs under a manager such as McCarthy and it's not our fans being dillusional, fans of other clubs I have talked too and seen comment on social media have commented on how "Blackburn should be in the top 2" or "How have Blackburn not even got into the play offs with them two strikers" and "Blackburn still have a few players who could play in the Premier League" etc.

Bowyer has wasted a lot of the money that he has had, and has made some very poor tactical errors within games. In other circumstances, such as 'a stable club' or a 'club looking to consolidate' I would say stick with him and give him another season, however with the clubs circumstances I find it astounding that we haven't gone and got a McCarthy type manager to ensure we have at least a good chance of making the play offs.

What does annoy people, is that to say he is predominantly a youth manager, he is making no use of the youth players whatsoever and seems to have no intentions of doing so. Maybe he is being rather clever about it and thinking "well if I play them in so many games they will be classed as established players" fair enough if that is the case, but if we don't see any of them in the team this season then we know that isn't his thinking and that would be rather surprising, considering we have an excellent academy set up and some decent players who could do a job.

We want the recent history to change and that's why we call for a more capable manager. Your 100% right about the idiots within the club but fact is we don't know how an experienced manager would perform because they've never appointed one. Never will probably as mentioned but if they did the chances are better stacked in favour of things improving ON the pitch if nowhere else. If the end game is promotion or at least an ambitious crack at it it's a gamble worth taking.

Just look at this league since we got relegated, without looking it up I bet most of the teams promoted have done so with proper gaffers in charge. Last season is a bit of an exception but we all know by now Bowyer isn't going to morph into a Warburton or eddie Howe etc over night.

Apart from the 3 Brown has provided

Not much to write home about for a season even if you accept that. Three assists in a match I would say was an acheivment.

McCarthy's failures and sackings have come in the Premier League.

He's proven at this level and is virtually guaranteed to manage a club into the promotion shake up.

Really? Well he's been there 3 years and only managed it last year. In fact the season before Ipswich finished below us.

Blackburn is 31 miles north west of Manchester

 Bit picky there but I'll respond. It's 25 miles via Bolton, but are you talking by road? by rail or by air? Also one might even suggest that BwD end and Manchester starts at Egerton.

Not saying he is any good, or that 3 assists in a season is much to brag about over a season. Just that he has contributed something (albeit very little)
