Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 26, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted March 26, 2015 I'd rather give one of the kids a do than us sign Taylor, what was the point in us going to all that effort to bring Mahoney back, and to get O'Sullivan back from loan? Pointless that academy....

G Somerset Rover Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Can't wait to see 'Tayls II' in action. Inspired signing at such a crucial stage of the season. Good to see Gaz putting his faith in youth once again too.
thenodrog Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Mrs Desai but there seems little chance that she will remove the board or even think about changing the manager. It needs a top down restructure but that won't happen. The crazy thing is that IF the venky's went to John Williams and Tom Finn (both of whom still care passionately about the club) and asked them to comeback, they would do it (providing they got certain reassurances) and in one go they would not only get the club back on track but also give the fans some hope. Rose tinted glasses Kamy. What happens to the debt? JW did a good solid job but he wasn't perfect by some distance. What happens if JW gets Ince Mk2? What happens if he gets Allardyce Mk2 and all those with champagne tastes and only beer money boo home wins and vow not to renew their ST's until he goes? What happens if we fluke a manager who can regularly turn base metal into gold and because he wanted to better himself they denied him the money to buy any base metal at all and effectively drive him out?
Backroom Tom Posted March 26, 2015 Backroom Posted March 26, 2015 Never known a long time youth coach be so resistent to using our own youth players. Why on earth we want this trouble laden chap instead of using some of our own is baffling especially at a time when the season is over

Pointless that academy.... I'm assuming that some agent/finders fees are involved even when signing a loan or freebie and maybe a bonus to the 'scout' involved in spotting the 'fantastic' talent who's not good enough for Ipswich. You are spot on - what the hell is the Academy for.
West Yorks Rover Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 According to wiki had been banned from football for 6 months previously for cocaine traces found in a random drugs test. In fact his wiki page makes shocking reading, sounds like his whole career has been on the @#/?. As Jordan Rhodes is the most unlikely vodka/charlie user in the Western Hemisphere then maybe we could transfer this brain dead dirge of a song to Paul? Welcome to Ewood! Another very strange signing indeed, probably the last kind of personality that you would expect Bowyer to want at the club. Something not right here. ££££££££££££££sssss
LDRover Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Plays well between the lines this lad and if you give him a sniff in front of goal he's deadly.
thenodrog Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Re: Jordan Rhodes Lots of selfish opinion on here but has anybody considered the wishes of Jordan Rhodes and his agent? His value is diminishing as his goals tally is falling. He's still highly valued by one or two other clubs who are much better placed than BRFC and effectively he's stuck in a club which is operating under a crippling debt, a very damaging transfer embargo and which is likely to lose it's best players this summer and destined to replace them with players of lesser quality. Plain truth is that JR needs to get out for his own sake and when that is the case (and unless they are called Matthew Le Tissier) players and their agents hold all the aces and get their wishes.
West Yorks Rover Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Plays well between the lines this lad and if you give him a sniff in front of goal he's deadly. I've heard he's not snort of a bit of pace.
Amo Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sublime? Good bit of play but id be worried if he couldn't lay a ball off 5 yards to be honest. In the box, back to goal, surrounded by defenders, perfectly weighted for the onrushing striker.
bob fleming Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Another very strange signing indeed, probably the last kind of personality that you would expect Bowyer to want at the club. Something not right here. ££££££££££££££sssss This. With every single signing we make some people are getting richer.
Waggy76 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 What is the point in signing another half baked player that nobody else appears to want ? We wont go up and we wont go down , plus we have a debt of mammoth preportions , so why do we add to the wage bill a player , who will bring absolutely nothing to the table ? Mr Fleming has the answer !
perthblue02 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Certainly does make you wonder why the youth are not given a chance (aside from there's no deals to be done and drinks to be had). Wonder if GB has been bigging up his golden chicklets to Mrs D to appeal to her chicken business template, but is afraid of spoiling the illusion of bringing through a generation of prize egg layers in case the contract stops rolling
Blue blood Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Signing Taylor is being used as another stick to beat GB with. Shame it's Gary himself handing us the branches. Seriously what is the point in this? He's trouble, he's a poor record on and off the pitch, there's nothing to play for league wise - oh and on top of that we've a shed load of debt and some allegedly promising youngsters. On what level does this make sense. I realize cost cutting will happen in the summer but if Taylor is the type of player to replace Gestede and co. we're deeper in the poo than I imagined (which was pretty deep.) Oh, and Bowyer's baffling trying to keep 3 strikers happy - how's that going to work with a 4th?

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 26, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted March 26, 2015 Henley's doing alright at right back now to be fair! I find Bowyer's reluctance to play the youth very bizarre indeed. Especially as an ex academy director himself... Ohhhhh Connor Mahoney!
Stuart Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Signed striker Paul Taylor on a emergency loan from Ipswich http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/paul-taylor-blackburn-rovers-ipswich-town-2359464.aspx Edit. In the above say's not eligible for FA cup , but on the Ipswich Town website story say's he has been granted permission to play in FA cup but not in the final game of the season against Ipswich http://www.itfc.co.uk/news/article/paul-taylor-joins-blackburn-rovers-on-loan-2360293.aspx Maybe this was part of the deal for them taking Varney off our hands."He just needs a fresh start, Gaz" *puts down receiver* [maniacal laugh]

Oh, and Bowyer's baffling trying to keep 3 strikers happy - how's that going to work with a 4th? And if 3 go in summer? Rhodes, Gestede and King all likely to be off imo. Another thing to consider is that Brian Clough built Nottm Forest from the 2nd Div to win the European Cup in 5 years by signing any number of 'unmanageable' and troublesome players on the cheap. Maybe Bowyer's strong links to Forest and particularly Brian Clough are the basis of his actions. Pointless signing. I haven't seen Taylor but I have seen Varney and shipping Varney out for Taylor is hardly a pointless signing imo.
Husky Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 DEFINITELY some dodgy agents are still lurking in the shadows at Rovers. It's another ridiculous signing. Once again - are our Academy players really THAT @#/? that they can't even be given a chance in a series of dead rubbers? LUDICROUS! May as well bring back Coco!
RevidgeBlue Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Pointless signing. Inclined to agree but he can't possibly be any worse than Brown.
thenodrog Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 GB is nothing like Clough No sh1t Sherlock! BUT GB was a Forest fan (he was at Hillsborough rem) and his Dad played for Clough for many years. He can't help but have strong links with and first hand knowledge of Cloughs management techniques. Inclined to agree but he can't possibly be any worse than Brown Varney More accurate in this instance Simon.
