Backroom Tom Posted April 15, 2015 Backroom Posted April 15, 2015 Selling one is inevitable - selling both is likely you would think
blueboy3333 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/aston-villa-and-newcastle-united-send-scouts-to-watch-championship-ace/ Villa and Newcastle linked with Rhodes ^
blueboy3333 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Selling one is inevitable - selling both is likely you would think Although Venky's have turned down bids before they'll probabaly be sold in order to meet FFP rules (unless Venky's can find another way to meet them). Gestede certainly wants/wanted to go, and it's hard to see Rhodes passing up the chance to play in the Prem. Up to Bowyer to find some good replacements if they do go.
Rover_Shaun Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 The brink of playoff qualification? What? Dark dark forces at work. There cannot be any other explanation for such blatant @#/?
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted April 15, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted April 15, 2015 WTF are dark forces?? Just his agent strengthening his position like most managers I'd wager. That being said, the way it's written, it's like we should be grateful to be where we are and as if we were never in the PL...
Rover_Shaun Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 As I said dark forces. An agent is included in that.
ABBEY Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 From the Daily Mail today:- Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer is due to hold crucial talks with owners Venky's about how to work around the club's transfer embargo. Bowyer has been hemmed in by financial restrictions yet still managed to lead Blackburn to the brink of play-off qualification and the FA Cup quarter finals. His work has been recognised at other clubs considering managerial changes but he is keen to finish what he has started by taking Blackburn up to the Premier League next season. Rovers have been under embargo since January after falling foul of the Football League's new financial fair play regulations. Key to discussions in India will be whether they accept bids for Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes with Southampton, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and Hull interested at the right price. Just shows how crap that paper is.
Rover_Shaun Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 It is maddening and proves nothing has changed. Stinks of Kean. Here's the new boss. Same as the old boss
West Yorks Rover Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 It is maddening and proves nothing has changed. Stinks of Kean. Here's the new boss. Same as the old boss It might sound a bit mad, but I sometimes wonder whether Kean and co., are still running the place from a distance.
Baz Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 "Brink of play-offs" aside, why is he going to hold crucial talks about FFP with the owners? Thats Shaws job. And secondly its a bit flippin late.

I'm glad you told us what shaws job is because I had been wondering just what he does for his no doubt large salary. Perhaps we should find a way of telling him what he should be doing too as he doesn't seem to have a clue

And secondly its a bit flippin late. Not in venkys world. Where've you been these past 4 years Baz? The manager reports directly to the family.
chaddyrovers Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Isn't Shaw's job to run the admin side of the club, negotiating transfers and contracts for signings and sales? Bowyer is in charge of the football side of the club? How much do people think Gestede and Rhodes are worth in the current transfer market?
tomphil Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 It might sound a bit mad, but I sometimes wonder whether Kean and co., are still running the place from a distance. It really would not surprise me if they were still on an unofficial board of directors invisible to the naked eye with cash interests still tied in. Said it a million times but the kind of things going on behind the scenes at Rovers do not just disappear overnight. Who knows how many of Venkys mates have some pocket money tied up in this. In the past they all used to meet up in Zurich including Venkys so how do we know that still isn't the case. After all they still have people in situ who could protect certain interests.

That'll be the Glasgow mob. Maybe not, didn't someone say they'd been paid in full ?
broadsword Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 If the max permitted loss is eight mill per year and we're losing two mill a month then somehow we have to cut three hundred thousand a week off the wage bill? Surely I have that wrong? That's the equivalent of six Jordan Rhodes
Ricky Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 We will have Dunny and Robbo off the wage bill this year. That's probably going to be somewhere in the region of £45k - £50k a week gone.

Surely I have that wrong? That's the equivalent of six Jordan Rhodes The allowed loss this year is 3 mill, with the owners allowed to put in another 3 mill.
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 In which case FFP - financial fair play - would fall under Shelfy's remit, no? But would fall into Bowyer's remit aswell. In terms of signings and potential sales.
broadsword Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 The allowed loss this year is 3 mill, with the owners allowed to put in another 3 mill. It's £8m if they put in equity, which I assume is converting debt to shares. So I was taking the best case scenario, if that's the appropriate term. I really can't see FFP compliance within the next twelve monthsm, unless I have the figures totally wrong.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted April 16, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted April 16, 2015 As I said dark forces. An agent is included in that. Dark forces isn't necessarily self-explanatory though, and sounds way too melodramatic imo. Plus, it sounds as though you're paraphrasing Harry Potter

I really can't see FFP compliance within the next twelve monthsm, unless I have the figures totally wrong. 2014/15 season the allowable Loss dropped to 3 mill, - 6 mill if the owners put in 3 mill of equity. http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2014/championship-financial-fair-play-season-201314-submissions-2144136.aspx £3m! Last season we lost £42m. Granted, £16m of that was brought forward from this season.
