2014/15 season the allowable Loss dropped to 3 mill, - 6 mill if the owners put in 3 mill of equity.

http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2014/championship-financial-fair-play-season-201314-submissions-2144136.aspx

£3m! Last season we lost £42m. Granted, £16m of that was brought forward from this season.

I can't really begin to comprehend the magnitude of our losses.

Say we're losing £26m a year. Call it £2m a month. £500k a week.

We're allowed to lose at most £6m a year. That's £125k a week.

So, at best, we have to find a way to save £375k a WEEK. This is just absolutely bonkers. They'll have to start assassinating players.

In which case FFP - financial fair play - would fall under Shelfy's remit, no?

Many things fall under his remit, but, well, the less said about that the better.....

i'd start by sacking the whole academy off and selling the land. get them back down pleasy running through the woods, get Tony back in and he'll get them proper fit, cos they are proper unfit at the moment. they can use the witton track for speed work, astro turf at witton if the grass is too muddy and they can all run back to ewood after for a pie from Levers.

"Brink of play-offs" aside, why is he going to hold crucial talks about FFP with the owners?

Thats Shaws job.

And secondly its a bit flippin late.

All Bowyer needs to be told is whether he can sign anyone or if he has to sell anyone. He doesn't need to go out to India to know that.

dont get this bit hey, because Bowyer is supposedly a coach. Normally the coach would get the players ino shape, along with whatever strength and conditioning guys we have as part of the staff. However, if the players are still unfit, then who ever is dealing with fitness needs to be fired.

We will have Dunny and Robbo off the wage bill this year. That's probably going to be somewhere in the region of £45k - £50k a week gone.

And JR. Thats almost 100k pw! Or to put it into perspective 5000 tickets at £20 each! Or even more perspective the entire gate receipts for the dismal attendance v Swansea in the FA cup.

Always Rhodes fault , wait till we are on a goal drought next season. You don't get on the best bandwagon though.

I wouldn't be too surprised if there's no Baptiste next season, we've signed Killa, Duffy and Hanley and it sounds like Doneil Henry is coming back, Henley seems to have nailed down right back...

Question: If we took lost 42 mil last season because we took 16m from this and out it on the losses = we lost 26m

Then do we not take that 16m off this one = 10m loss

Sell JR and we are out of the embargo?

Also I thought this 2mil a month was before we got rid of a few of the big earners, then add Robbo (Best spontaneously combusts) doesn't it give us a chance of having the embargo lifted?

13/14 rules:

16/17 rules: http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2014/20141106-championship-financial-fair-play-rules-rg-2066799.aspx''>http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2014/20141106-championship-financial-fair-play-rules-rg-2066799.aspx'>http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2014/20141106-championship-financial-fair-play-rules-rg-2066799.aspx

(Which states that we can lose no more than 15 mill in any one 12 month cycle within a rolling 3 year period, and no more than 39 mill in total for that 3 year period).

All seems quite messy. One thing I've missed is how often FFP is assessed, presumably it is on a season-by-season basis. If by some Almighty miracle we were actually compliant with FFP, we'd actually have to publish interim accounts and submit them to the Football League?

Seems like the rules were agreed up to 15-16 first, and then they realised clubs would be falling foul of it left right and centre afterwards, so decided on much more lenient rules for 2016 onwards.

I'm surprised thats the only bit you didn't get Iceman, the whole post was absolute Bunkum.

I'll bet it's the favoured BRFCC word- bunkum.

To be more accurate dens favoured word :tu:

Who would you sell it to ?

PNE, Burnley, Lancashire County FC or maybe Wimpey homes would buy it to keep their staff fit.

What if Duncan Ballantine could buy it and turn it into the Ribble Valley Health Centre for the well heeled.

The building blocks are already in place and ready made customers already in attendance i.e. partially fit people needing some TLC with lots of disposable income.

Sounds like a good business model to me.

Think you've taken the £16m off twice.

Touche Gav. The only other time I've encountered the word was when I saw a Boardwalk Empire episode with that in the title, but that was set in the 1920s!

Weren't the losses last year £36m? or was it £46m?

I can't really keep track of it any more. What's £10m between friends?

I do agree though that the figures are fantastical, and not in a good way. Cost control be damned! Not only have we got ourselves into a financial pit that is way over our heads, in the process we've considerably enriched some rather unpleasant characters (naming no names) beyond their wildest dreams.

It's enough to make you puke.

The academy is needed for Rovers in my opinion. We need to start producing our own players.
