I can just hear it now, if the worst happens and we end up relegated next season. "Sometimes in life you need to take two steps back to move forward".

Comw on.. We will be in the middle of the table next season isnt that obvious?

Considering we are mid-table WITH Rhodes and Gestede, I'd say it isn't obvious we'll be mid-table next season without them, no...

Who says both will leave?

Will PL clubs be interest in Gestede or Rhodes?

Well, we need to close this deficit one way or another don't we Chaddy? We don't sell and we're under the embargo forever. Reports suggest that both are wanted men by the Prem clubs.

Gestede has said he wants out and considering Brown is ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment I'd wager he's on his way.

As for Rhodes, I imagine he stayed put last summer after promises of promotion. He's looked fed up as of late (probably all that mind-numbing hoofball) and I think he'd force a move if the Prem clubs came in. Who can blame him? He's proven at this level and he needs to take the step up for the good of his career.

What reports? Not read any reports recently about PL clubs wanting either?

Brown ahead of Gestede in the pecking order? Really? Gestede is Bowyer 1st choice striker IMO.

There's paper talk all the time.

Is he? Then why is Gestede almost always on the bench?

Yet again what paper talk? I haven't seen any for weeks linking them to current PL clubs.

Gestede has started 6 of the last 13 games.

For months on end you've been saying one or both will go, now because on Twitter Nicko said there are no buyers you have changed your tune.

It will probably rumble on all window with interest coming and going

Boro win again, look to be up. Jordan will be a hit there.

Can you see Boro coming in for Rhodes this summer?

For months on end you've been saying one or both will go, now because on Twitter Nicko said there are no buyers you have changed your tune.

but when has they been any paper talk recently linking either to current PL clubs?

of course Tom, they isn't any buyers cos they can't buy them until the summer, when the transfer window is closed atm

Papertalk? Who peddles papertalk all the time? Unless you've done a full 720 on Nicko too ;)

but Shaun, the point I'm making that recently I haven't seen any linking either to current PL clubs.

have you?

I've seen plenty of things posted on Facebook. Just paper talk but would you really be surprised if they left?

Six of the last thirteen hardly suggests he's Bowyer's number one does it? Looks like he's preparing for life without Rudy by playing Brown.

In all honest truth, that I wouldn't be surprise if both left. if both did leave then we would need good replacements in? how likely is this to happen? what will happen with the embargo if both left Rovers this summer?

the team is set up to suit Gestede style and not Rhodes

In spite of that, Rhodes has still banged in more goals than Rudy this season.

Wind up? I dont do anything like that. I stay on topic and dont do any personal insults.

the side is set up for gestede but he plays brown. So its time for a change then chaddy? ;)

Some could read into it that gestede has been promised a move?

I reckon Bowyer and Shaw would love to sell Rhodes and Gestede, even though they know, we would be nowhere near getting free from the embargo.

But boy would it give them plenty more excuses for our their mediocrity.

And perhaps a bit of sales commission too, who knows ?

I think you have made a good point there. maybe he has been promised a move

The fact he was all but saying come and get them in the press near the end of the transfer window before doing an almost 360 on it when the owners refused bids might support this theory. As does him keeping them out of one of our toughest fixtures of the season away at Derby, quite pathetic really but the nod for that must have come from Shaw you would think. Don't know about GB but if Shaw sets up deals he'll prob get a %.

The side is set up to accommodate bloody no one. It doesn't benefit Brown or Gestede, only improves their "aerial battles won %" as they're good at getting their noggin on high balls (so they should be at 6'4+ a piece) whilst also lowering their "pass completion %" as there's absolutely no one within 20 yards to feed off the meaningless lump and flick-ons. As for Rhodes, I feel really sorry for the chap. He must be getting neck ache from watching those balls get lumped up in the air to him whilst a 6'5 centre half clatters him from the back.

I'd wager the football would suit all our strikers better if it was passed into feet, worked wide and whipped in. Unfortunately, this isn't the Bowyer way.
