10/10 Exactly what I thought. It was noticeable that their first team manager was right on the touchline encouraging his team throughout the game. I was on that side of the stand but I never noticed our guys doing much.

You’re dead right about Barrett, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him make a save that was out of the extremely basic.

Regarding Tyjon, he got absolutely no service so no wonder he got disheartened.

Our 3 were over run by their 4 in midfield and we never did anything much to alter that.

It didn’t matter but I was right in line for their 4th goal. Their guy was yards off side. Not feet, yards.

It just looked like we were just fulfilling a promise for a pre-season friendly. One team wanted it, and one didn’t.

Mike Sheron looked deflated by the performance. I can accept bad results and even performances if the basics are there but last night there were no positives to draw. With two games coming up next week (Athletico Bilbao and Burnley) there needs to be a huge improvement. I wonder if Eustace will use them games as a opportunity to give some first team squad players some game time.

Why would anyone tune in to watch the U18s when the first team are playing at the same time ?

I don't think anyone would.  I know I watched the first team game.  But there was no reason not to mention that the U18s are also in action today.

For the record, the U18s came back from 2-1 down to win 5-2, 3 goals in 5 minutes in the second half.  Boggan hat trick Dlamini and Higgins with the others

Won 5-2. Late goal from rising star Harvey Higgins off the bench. New boy Silver Eze bagged an own goal.

An opportunity to see how Gueye works in a proper two up top? Let's hope he gets a goal or assist tonight. Perfect opportunity to bully a few kids.

Leonard as the 10 behind Gueye according to this

Thanks.. *SIGH* Hopefully someone there can tell us how that plays out once the game gets going. Leonard strikes me as an off the shoulder type in the box poacher, seems a good opportunity to have them work in tandem.

Aren’t these games perfect for the education and development of our best youngsters, to match up against opponents from probably the world’s elite nation in youth football? Why are Buckley and Baker in there? And would it serve Montgomery and Edmondson to be there (fog permitting) than away in non-league? Seems self-defeating to me.

Edit: Match abandoned!

Match fitness. Let's see if they play against the dingles on Friday.

Deleting twitter highlighted how terrible a job the Rovers media team do updating the website. There’s a preview on there but no word on if the game was concluded etc

It’s properly basic stuff which we just don’t seem to care about these days

Back when Rovers closed their official fan message board, I seem to remember emerging social media was given as an alternative by the marketing/web team.

Any players on loan in non league can be called back to play in these (and any u21) games if the club chooses too.

I think it's a shame for Buckley, on a personal note, to not play. He might have passed rings around the 17 year olds and got a trial at Athletic Bilbao. At this point, it seems only a move to a slower paced league might bring the best out of him.

Interesting that going from the numbers, Bloxham seems to be at right back today, and also looked to have started there in the abandoned match earlier this week.  Especially considering that Rovers have 2 right backs on the bench today.

It's another nonsensical decision to play this behind closed doors. It was only announced earlier this week after (I'm guessing) somebody at Ewood shat themselves at the thought of hordes of marauding Rovers and Dingles fans running riot at Brockhall. Aside from parents and grandparents the demographic of the usual attendee at games is 60+.
