JAL Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) Notice Scott Wharton has been given a squad number, may feature against Newport on Monday? Another good lad at centre half just hope he has no fears and shows what hes good at on the football field. Edited January 19, 2016 by JAL Quote

Backroom Madon Posted January 23, 2016 Backroom Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) Jordan Preston has scored again for Ayr, he's on fire at the minute! Edit: and another! 2 goals in first 5 mins. Edit: First half hat-trick, can we bring him back please? Edited January 23, 2016 by Madon Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 This is starting to look like I have a down on the lad but I haven't. John O'Sullivan withdrawn last night after getting a yellow card for a retaliatory foul. Sounds like he's trying too hard. Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Jordan Preston has scored again for Ayr, he's on fire at the minute! Edit: and another! 2 goals in first 5 mins. Edit: First half hat-trick, can we bring him back please? Whilst its great he is scoring goals I think we need to temper expectations here a bit and look at the standard he is playing at. Scottish League 1 is about the equivalent of the bottom teams in League 2 and the top of the conference. Quote

deryck guyler's spoon Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) Amidst all the hoo ha of deadline day the efforts of the Youth team shouldn't go unnoticed. Tonight they came from behind to beat Villa away 2-1. Last minute winner takes Rovers to the 1/4 finals. Brilliant effort, well done lads! Edited February 1, 2016 by deryck guyler's spoon 8 Quote

Parsonblue Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Cracking game at Villa Park tonight. The lads thoroughly deserved their win - despite the winning goal coming so late. We could easily have been three up before the unfortunate own goal put Villa in the lead but throughout the game the lads looked capable of scoring at any time. The midfield trio of Hardcastle, Rankin-Costello and Tomlinson all caught the eye whilst Pemberton did a tremendous amount of work down the right flank. Both sides played some excellent football in difficult conditions. 1 Quote

BlueMonday Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Yes well done. Not often recently we've beaten Villa in a cup game! 1 Quote

Parsonblue Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 How did Scot Warton play as I see he was the captain. Apart from a strange own goal, he and Platt did very well against a decent Villa attack. Both seem to read the game well and both are good in the air and can put a foot in when required. There are a number of promising youngsters in this bunch and it will be interesting to see if they can push on to the next level. Quote

A couple knocking on the door towards the end next season would be great. Quote
