The MUTV coverage is like listening to Germany Calling - they're shit scared of praising anything Rovers do or criticising anything Man United do. Everything they've done has been fantastic, they're by far the better team and Rover have lucked into two goals.... apparently. 🤣

I can see why this Rovers team does well in the PL2 - they're hard working and well drilled. Individually they're not as good as some of the United players (they have two lads called Hannibal and Shoretire who look a class apart), but there's a few promising prospects for sure - especially considering we're only asking them to play in the Championship.

This has been a cracking game of football. Neither side great at the back but going forward both sides have been very exciting.

McBride looks promising.

People will no doubt compare him to Nuttall but he’s got much more about him.

Finishes well, good touch and hold up play, runs the channels well and as you say he’s filling out.

Pike can’t be far away from the squad either.

As a side note Evans is what early 30s playing in an u23s game and still isn’t good enough.

This is the first time that I've ever seen Pike play. He looks a very physical young lad, he certainly wouldn't struggle with that side of the game if he were to be given a chance in the first team.

I think it was £19 Million they paid for him with potential addons taking the deal up to £37 Million. He certainly looks a player, his decision making is fantastic.

And now he gets a deserved goal 6-4.

The United commentators crowing finally got to me. I hate that club.

At the end of the day it's one of the top youth academies in the country (I shudder to think what they spend on their Academy), supplemented by £20m imports vs a very good Academy that lives off United / City / Everton / Liverpool Academy rejects and the second tier of local young talent (that isn't snapped up by the aforementioned).

From the games I've watched this season I think McBride, Pike and Thompson (didn't play today) could all step up into the First XI squad tomorrow and not look out of place - that's a huge win for us and makes the Academy worthwhile.

I thought Nolan and Harlock looked decent today - I'd like to see more of them. Brennan flatters to deceive for me - I'm glad we kept hold of him when other teams were sniffing around, but I'm yet to see a great player. 

 

Tonight - once our players tired we lost our shape and United just came at us in waves. They have far more talented players, as you'd expect.

To be fair they had Diallo playing by all accounts he’s the next best thing.
