How we are running the academy is clearly working for us at the moment.

Lenihen,Nyambe, Wharton, Travis and Buckley all regulars with players of promise in Butterworth and Costello not looking out of place when they have featured.

And another 4 deemed worthy of an experience on the bench on Saturday - Magloire (maybe not!), Garrett, Phillips and Adam Wharton.

Lenihan joined from an Irish club at 16/17....

Only Bucko has been through the complete system before U17........what's the point of it all if we don't produce kids from U8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 and 16s...we normally sack em all off and bring in a Travis or a Dolan....

If Buckley continues his progression then he could be sold for big money. It only takes one for years of the academy to be paid for.

Phil Jones? What age was he at the club from?

If we did it your way maybe Dunny would be a Dingle legend now.

What is wrong with the way the club are operating the Academy?.We have 5 lads that came through it in the starting line up.Im not sure on this but thought Nyambe joined the club as a 13 year old?

Imagine if we'd kept the core of our best recent academy graduates together and you add in what we have..

Gk: Raya
Dc: Wharton
Dc: Hanley
Dc: O'Connor

Rwb: Nyambe

Lwb: Pickering
Mc: Travis
Mc: Buckley
Mc: Rothwell

St: Brereton

St: Gallagher

St: Khadra

That's before you go futher back and look at Phil Jones, Dunn, Duff, Beattie, Johnson, Tiny Taylor et.al

We've got a very fruitful academy. Something to be proud of.

Based on the City game Magloire needs to find a club in January, and then we release the lad in the summer. He’s got too many mistakes in him, he can’t concentrate for 90 minutes. Garrett’s younger brother says he’s better than Jake, we sat with his family against Leicester. Phillips and Adam look real prospects.

What would you like to see Sparks? Not being snarky, I'm genuinely asking. You are involved in youth football so see what goes on to some degree.

Should all clubs fire off their academy or just Rovers?

I think they do more harm than good in general from such an early age...kids get a flash of a pro club at 7 and it completely changes the way his parents view his entire junior/youth football from 6-16 ....then they realise their kid was never going to be a pro and its a wasted 10 years of moving from top grassroots to another one, trialling etc....kids should be left until they are 15/16 but with schools having relationships with pro clubs and pro clubs funding representative football and schools facilities, town teams and county schools.  They should sign for a pro club in Y11 along with a scholarship.

I thought Chaddmeister put on here somewhere....I might be wrong 👍

There has been some chatter that a loan would be a good idea but I haven't seen any concrete plans.

It was mentioned that McBride could be going to Crewe on loan.

Rovers has just announced it will be available for a stream for only a pound.

Does anybody got the option for the match on their Rovers TV?

It's not appearing on my subscription options

EDIT: It is now available 🙂

U18s currently 2 up in youth Cup match, & well deserved according to the Stoke Sentinel's correspondent whose feed I'm following! Harrison Wood & Harry Leonard the scorers.
