One of those is West Ham though, third from bottom. Also depends how many Premier League players they decide to drop down to get them over the line, like with Moura yesterday.

West Ham beating Palace ATM 3-1

Palace down to 10 men

Could've done without that, although my eyes are mostly on Spurs, West Ham was one more side with the potential to finish below us. 3-2 now though I see.

Maybe Wolves are in trouble too. If they don't beat Fulham today, they will need points against Crystal Palace and/or Man city to finish above us.

Finished 2-1 to Fulham. Handy, keeps Wolves a point below us with same games played. If they dick their last 2 games up it won't matter what we or anyone else does.

Man U 2 points and one place above us with a much worse gd lost to bottom club Leicester and had a player sent off.

They're probably safe, too many teams below them that need to pick up points. It would be highly gratifying to stay up at their expense though!

The good thing about that result though is it means Leicester still have some fight left, and they've still got to play West Ham.

No Leonard for the U21s today - I'm thoroughly confused.

He's getting the A Wharton treatment.

JDT trying to be clever and producing a first team squad with an academy mentality as per the last couple of results.

Beaten 0-3 today, so the outcome is not in our own hands. The last game against Palace is huge, if other results go against us.

Man City youngsters were a joy to watch today and sometimes you just have to say the opponents were too good for you. There was no lack of effort from Rovers but City's passing, movement and touch was excellent - it was so easy on the eye. In fairness Sam Burns came on in the second half and was probably Rovers best player as he could have had a goal or two with his running in behind. Ayala looked a way off fitness yet and I'll be surprised if he features in the first team this season. Interestingly there was no Ash Phillips or Harry Leonard.

I just googled and City have 38 players out on loan and yet these played us off the park, just shows the gap between a Championship club and a top Prem teams resources.

In the fifty years I have been watching football it has always been the same.

Tom Bloxham, an Irish midfielder from Spurs is signing for Rovers on his first professional contract. Glad Markanday's experience hasn't blocked that route to Ewood.

We could feasibly see a first team next season set up as:

                          GK

        Carter   Phillips  Wharton

JRC                                           Batty

         Travis  Garrett  Wharton

                Vale     Leonard

I wouldn't expect it to do much, but it is impressive from an academy set up to produce a reasonably capable Championship team. And that's leaving out Buckley.
