A watchable game at Leyland last night. A hard working Colchester side pretty much stopped Rovers from playing their passing game but Rovers were a threat getting in behind as both full backs were bombing on. Barrett saved a penalty and made some good saves and Powell looked decent again but on the night it was more a case of grafting and matching Colchester's energy. Sometimes it's substance over style and this game was one of them.

Does anyone know if there'll be tickets available for the PL Cup matches played at Stanley?

I've had a look on both the Rovers and Stanley website and can't see anything.

There hasn't been an announcement yet which is par for the course. Last season I think they sold bundles of three for the International Cup games so I would expect something similar again. Hopefully we'll find out today or tomorrow.

The confirmation that the games would be at Stanley included the infamous line ‘ticketing information for the fixtures will be released in due course’

Never heard of him, clicked on the article saw his picture and thought ‘he’s a centre back’. And so he is! I think they have different shaped heads than other players!

Charlie Weston, who was released this summer, has signed for Barrow, joining Connor Mahoney & Sam Barnes

I am unsure if that Joe who posted on here has much say on recruitment, possibly not, but hoovering up Rovers academy cast offs doesnt scream the result of a widespread data push.

Barrow also picked up Tom White after Rovers released him a few years ago

https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/november/white-makes-barrow-switch/

Seems to be working for them, most successful period in their history isn't it?

No clue how much Barrow use data in recruitment, but to be honest, it seems a very sensible strategy for localish lower league teams to pick up our cast offs, just as Rovers pick up academy cast offs from Man Utd, Everton,, Man City, Liverpool etc.  I would have thought Accrington should have been at it for years (including being after loans from Rovers too)

He does work at Barrow still
