I have posted a news story about a championship club. So I am keeping to the topic of the thread

you are the one teling everyone whats boring and whats not and what we can post about. Just like in the Wigan thread earlier in season when you said you couldn't have an opinion if you didn't go and then did exactly that the week after.

Maclaren, Pearce, McCarthy Freedman, Holloway, Lennon etc all similarly failed, despite being some peoples flavour of the month at some time or other in the season.

Do you genuinely believe Bowyer is the best we can recruit? If it was your own cash would you continue to retain Bowyer?

Talks cheap. 20 million + losses would surely get you scratching your head at the very least and giving the matter some thought?

Just for once I'd really like a defence of Bowyer's management abilities to start with his qualities rather than "it could be worse".

Totally agree. It must be harder than we imagine however as few can pen anything worth reading.

Only at the Rovers it would appear. And only seemingly in special circumstances if you get on great with Madame.

Most other clubs tend to react based on their performances and results taken in context against targets and expectation.

One has been superb, inherited a poor squad heading for relegation turned them around and got the team performing and made the club millions.

One lost most matches he was in charge of and played an awful brand of football.

One saved us from certain relegation and kept a poor squad mid-table with little investment.

One lost most of the games he was in charge of and performed poorly.

One got us promoted in 2nd place with the best squad in the Division, won a major cup before turning wine into water and leaving us on a definite downward spiral with a poor squad and imo with a nice wad in his wallet.

One is a crook and a spiv and who I'd love to read had fallen under a bus.

One has kept the club in the top half of a tough decision whilst being tasked with reducing the wage bill and getting rid of the biggest earners.

One should never have been appointed but for facebook warriors, was inept, wouldn't take his coaches badges and imo was as thick as a bar top.

Put the names to the descriptions if you want but in effect out of 8 I'd only have two back by choice. Bowyer has done a decent job, not brilliant and not bad but do you fancy rolling the dice again when considering the above? Just 2 top managers out of 8! If so you were the child who stuck his hand in the fire...... and did it again the day after.

If by rolling the dice, you mean either accelerating the death by a thousand cuts and getting it over with, or having the chance of striking it lucky and winning £100m + parachute payments via promotion, then yes! Every day of the week.

But it isn't a 50:50 choice is it? The odds are stacked high against. We have a 1 in 4 record of getting a decent manager and there are 23 other clubs all vying to do the same. More like the chances of throwing two 6's out of 3 throws. Still fancy a do?

Personally, yes. You've got to be in it to win it, as they say. With Bowyer we will tread water (which in real terms means slowly going backwards). With someone new, there's always the chance of pulling a rabbit out of the hat, however remote.

In answer to my own question...we have reduced the wage bill from 36.6m to 34.5m. So it's hardly been savage cuts.
