[Archived] Season tickets again!

Recommended Posts

I don't buy that pal, if anything I'd say it would increase sales with potential derby matches in the offing.

But people won't carry on buying if the product is rubbish, and thats been the case most of this season and last.

For the derby games the vast majority of people will buy match tickets, those games alone won't boost ST sales...the novelty does wear off.

Like you state Gav the product on all levels of the club is crap at the moment and the shop window is bare.

The attendence, even for derby games, will suffer if people don't think we have a chance of winning. If we're forced to endure Browny and Varney up front next season I don't know how we're going to win matches - because our midfield certainly don't chip in very often with goals!

Accept what?

I accept we're a Championship club and that after what has gone on here it might be a long hard road back to the top division.

I accept Venkys own the club and without their finances the club would probably cease to exist.

I accept that any club needs as many people as possible supporting it.

I accept my role at the club is to stick with it through thick and thin. Do 'my bit' by going to games and supporting the players in blue and white.

I hated Steve Kean with a passion, yet wouldn't let that monster stop me supporting my club. I don't hate Gary Bowyer. I accept he has flaws and we could have done better this season. We could also have done worse. That's life.

Excellent post JHRover. Sadly, FFP means that clubs were greater incomes streams - which obviously includes gate receipts - have a huge advantage over clubs with smaller income streams. That's not blaming the fans it's simply a fact of life. The blame rests with the Football League members who have introduced a system which, and I doubt it was the original intention - once again favours the big city clubs.

No, the blame rests with Venkys for making FFP our concern and not someone else's. We should be where Stoke or Hull are, yet, ironically, they probably had more say about the terms of FFP than we did.

Comparing our gates under any circumstances to the likes of Leeds, being the 3rd biggest city in England is quite frankly ridiculous. Per head of population their crowds are dire. If they where top they'd get 35k plus so if their support is so fantastic why don't they get that now ? Their ceiling of potential support is way way up in the sky ours is around 20/25k as has been proven down history. If Leeds support was so great they'd be nearly full every week from their population of 750k +

Give Bolton and Reading another season of under achieving and their gates will be like ours as well, Boros where just like ours a season or two ago and now despite challenging they still can't get much more than 17/18 k home fans on. All these places bigger than Blackburn. As always in this area/town the club has to work extremely hard to get and keep what we have never mind increase it, a fact confirmed by Williams even in our steady Prem days.

If anyone thinks stay aways will or should come back now and pay 26 quid to watch mid table championship games with nothing to play for just because of 2 battling efforts against a big gun then your showing Keano levels of delusion.

NOT FOOTBALL LEAGUE , NOT FANS NOT WHOEVERYOU WANT TO BLAME ...

THE BLAME LIES WITH THE OWNERS!!!!!!!!

When did they introduce FFP? - that's what the conversation was about - about the present and future not the past. We all know that Venkys were responsible for the events that led us to be relegated but unless you have some magic time machine we can't alter that. We can only look to the present and the future.

So Anderson and co are innocent in it all are they? - Our demise is solely down to a cunning plan by venkys to lose a lot of their own money, and in return get berated by people with anger issues who write in capital letters?!

I wish we could be back to where we were before they bought us - I despair at the Venkys, who are supposedly astute business owners, but took such shocking advice in running our club. But my hate is focussed on Anderson and those who profited from our demise in a calculated manner. Another difference between Venkys and Anderson is they have stuck around and Anderson and co have gone to ground.

On the topic of season tickets I will definitely be renewing. Disappointed with this season, but I think if we can sign either Tunnicliffe or Spearing on a permanent basis we are not far off having a decent side for next season.

Pleased Orr has gone and we only have Leon Best to deal with in terms of wage thieves.

Unfortunately for at least as long as FFP rules remain in place, the clubs best chance at competing is to put bums on seats in Ewood Park. There's no way round that fact, whatever people's logic behind not wanting to renew.

Completely wrong.

The best chance of getting promoted is to appoint a proper executive structure at Ewood and a proper manager.

Next years promotion push starts here. Get them season tickets bought :rover:;)

I'm sick of reading about the Liverpool attendance now, putting the club back on the map and the rest of the cr@p coming out of brockhall, its small minded tittle tattle.

The town and the football club are know the world over for our exploits over the past 25yrs, just because 3 thick swine’s from Pune have tried to destroy the club doesn’t mean we’re any less well known or off the footballing map.

FFS – having a bad day, can you tell :glare:

Clap clap ... You hated kean but the slumdogs wouldn't sack him

I accept venkys ARE killing us with everyday of more debt added.

Last person I asked this too refused to answer

What debt level do you think it will take for you to want the idiots out ?

I'll answer that. The time to want them out was in the first three months when they broke every commitment and handed the running of the club to shysters. I don't want them out until the high earners are all off the books, they emply a better manager, fire Shaw, write off the debt, renovate the stadium and gift the club to competent owners for a quid.

"I'll watch them at Pleasy" is romantic cobblers, unless you want Ewood to go the way of Peel Park and the silverware to be flogged on eBay

cobblers ? oh ok then.

Selfish cobblers actually. You hate Venky's and everyone else loves them, you want them out irrespective of what anyone else thinks, you want to watch 11 fat blokes from the Butlers in blue and white shirts on a Sunday morning. What about the other 9,999 who want to watch their hometown team, the old timers who have been going 60 years? Screw them as long as you get what you want.

BUCKS ..QUOTE NOT WORKING ON WORK LAPPY...

WHO EMPLOYED ANDERSON AND HIS CRONIES ...?

PARSON....RE EMBARGO

WHO LET5 IT GET TO THIS STAGE?

Definitely agree they take a big share of the blame, but out of those to blame they are the only ones who stuck around to face the consequences. Not saying that makes them heroes - I just have more time for someone who makes a mistake and then sticks around, rather than those who knew what they were doing and profited from our demise.

You might choose to believe Venky's were wide-eyed naifs hoodwinked by a dastardly agent and his cronies, some see it otherwise. Obviously they thought they could use Rovers as a promotional vehicle for their fried chicken enterprise and fell for the honeyed promises of Champions League glory on £5m a season. Several parties tried to talk some sense into them but their counsel went unheeded. When it became painfully obvious that Kean was out of his depth they chose to sit back and do nothing as the club surrendered its Premier League status. I honestly think once things turned ugly they kept Kean in situ just to spite the fans, to show them who's boss. Remember they're from a completely different culture to us, and the Indian caste system doesn't tolerate the peasants getting above their station.

My 85-year-old Dad was there on Weds so it will actually, but then I'm not just thinking about me and getting what I want
