One if not all of them were surely in on the original plan of setting up companies to own players and sort of lease them to the club. Whether they knew it was wrong and whether it was just something to do rather than seriously profit from it's debatable. Either way I'm utterly convinced that they intended to / did get most of their original purchase money back at the very least, advised by the devil and his mates on that one.

It obviously didn't go to plan and they are somehow standing by the mess THEY ultimately created although it's probably more because they haven't really much choice, it's that or bust and the fall out for them wouldn't be good. Where there was once confusion and squabbling there now just seems a serious lack of interest.....apart from the interest they are paying on the debt

Balaji seemed to know what was happening with that. Granted Anderson was running the club rather than Balaji or his family, but he could see the potential to make a killing with the tird pary ownership plan.

As a final input before I head off for a break, is it not worth considering this point.

Venkys may well have been well and truly royally screwed, so is it not a time to vent the anger at elsewhere rather than them?

They are supporting the club there is NO doubt about it, they made mistakes, they accept that and are trying to move on.

No one knows what's going on behind closed doors in relation to FFP, no one knows how the club are addressing it, or the plans or anything else to do with it.

It wont change everyone's views (my good mate Abbey included) but it might just give another perspective of the problems we have faced and continue to face

Was thinking that myself , or his account has been hacked .

Everybody makes bad decisions now and again , but virtually every decision?

As Venkatesh stated to Nick Harris four years ago , His words not mine

"kentaro are like family"

They knew exactly the script and despite this , gave Kean a new contract, even whilst the supporters were protesting . Tell me that was on bad advice ?

Just in case anyone forgot the mess Venkys have got us in , no one else to blame apart from them. After all , they own the club right ??

By the same token they are the only ones who can get us out of this mire. I guess that is one of the most frustrating aspects of renewing.

In the absence of a 'statement of intent', how many people are watching what happens with player sales before renewing?

We will renew without hesitation. For me, in relation to buying an ST, a "statement of intent" makes no difference, who we sign makes no difference, who the manager is makes no difference. We either go to watch the Rovers or we don't.

The harsh reality is until we are either promoted or the Raos leave nothing will change. Add to this the fans have no opportunity or mechanism to create or influence change and for me there is no point in endless handwringing. I see no reason to listen to anything which comes out of the club as I know it's nothing more than platitudes. I can't change or influence anything by delaying or refusing to buy an ST. That has been proven over the last 4-5 years so why beat myself up over the decision?

So it's a simple decision. Are we going to watch Rovers? As the answer is yes then an ST is the obvious sensible choice.

These links should be handed out at home games to as many fans as possible because I'm convinced the vast majority of fans think we are where we are because of bad luck.

Anyone who pays any interest to a 'statement of intent' wants their head examining, in fact I've got a bridge for sale over the River Thames, going cheap

My hatred of the venkys has been unwavering. But as time passes some people may convince themselves that maybe they are not as bad as we thought, still here paying bills, naive Indians duped, blah blah blah but those while are painful to read dredging up old memories are a reminder that this perilous position we find ourselves in is 100% venkys fault. They are scum.

The cruelest of all ironies is that this same mob are the only ones that can get us out of this mess. Rock, hard place, fans.

Either bad luck or just because this is our "natural position" and relegation was inevitable no matter what they did.

Which of course is nonsense, but there are many who seem very keen to forgive and exonerate Venky's, which I find baffling. They are the cause of our decline, the cause of our debt and the cause of our depleted fanbase. The buck stops with them and the blame rests entirely on their shoulders.

I keep reading that they've learned from their mistakes, which again to me seems like nonsense. The boardroom is still a mess, the manager is still a rookie with no track record (beyond achieving mid table with a 40+ goal strike force), the squad continues to get weaker, the financial situation continues to get worse and the crowds continue to dwindle.

But we brought out the new kit in good time, so forget all of that...

All they've learned is to shut up and pay as little attention to us as possible. They can't/won't even arrange a post-season review with the manger. They're as much a joke now as they were when they got here, the only difference is we're out of the national spotlight and SEM/Kentaro have been forced into the distant background.

If there are any fans who believe that it's pointless sending them links cos I'm pretty certain reading will be way beyond their abilities.

Look.....the Venky's, Anderson, SEM, Kean etc etc are all scumbags and are guilty of bringing our wonderful Club to its knees. Unfortunately some want to reinvent history, "the Venky's are not that bad, they are keeping the Club alive" etc etc. you have short memories.

To me the Loons from Poona will always be scum. AMEN.

I get the feeling the storm clouds are a gathering .

Bowyer kept on ,FFP kicking in,continued lack of direction at a higher level and more fans than ever threatening not to renew.

Fans at end of their tether it seems ..do i sense another season of boycotts looming ..putting a final hole in what are already fastly diminishing attendances ..or are certain fans just blowing hot air and wanting their cake and eating it ...whilst seeming to say the "right" things .?

During the close season , debate often becomes (what are we debating about ?)

However I do feel season ticket sales will drop . I know quite a few who have said they won't be renewing , but in the main because they didn't enjoy the product last season .

I don't think FFP will influence decisions , or sales tbh .

If people stop enjoying something , they tend to pack it in . Some people have gone rovers in groups for years , but as the group dwindles , then the social side of going football is no longer as attractive . Football for some is literally a day out , few drinks with mates , watch the game and fish and chip supper .

A great post which I think sums up the thoughts of a lot of the die hards. The experience, day out, social aspect of a trip to the Rovers has all but gone. The locals can't relate to the present regime and can't see an end product whether it be good or bad. People are able to find, have to find more fulfilling things to do on.a Saturday. Sad times.

It's not that long ago we had a thriving industrial base / market / pub-scene in Blackburn. Look at it now, a shell.

Times they are a changin'- how long til we are saying 'it's not that long ago we had a thriving football club...'?

We really need something good to happen.

Indeed. It's the way of things with some people who are less committed than others. I've seen all but the real die hards desert the club before in the 60's and 70's.

Kamy/Tom or whoever is left out there - Any chance of a poll based on who is gonna renew next season (options: Yes, no, not if we sell X player etc) Be interesting to see what % of S/T holders have had enough. It doesn't sound promising if this MB is anything to go by.

After a lot of deliberation I renewed yesterday but it took a lot of persuasion from my wife and 2 kids before I did so. Hard to think that it's come to that to influence me when,in the past, I'd have signed up more or less straight away.

I've very little enthusiasm for the upcoming season and I can honestly see us struggle to stay up especially if we lose either of Gestede or Rhodes.

Anecdotally this seems to me like we are going to have a big fall in renewals, a la summer 2012.

Difference being this time is we won't drop from 15000 to 10000, but say 10000 to 6/7000, and it is getting to the stage where even being able to compete at this level will become very difficult.

Lets just hope some of the returning thousands for the Liverpool game step up and replace those dropping off :glare:

Very very depressing and so avoidable, but at least an online mock up of our new kits is out.
