BRFC England's 11th most successful club

BRFC Britain's most successful town club

And yet some posters on here go on about our natural level I take it these poster's weren't very good at History in school

Just accept NW County or Lancashire Utd or whatever you want to call it is a pointless exercise and 99 per cent of Rovers fans wouldn't go near it.

Neither would fans of PNE Burnley Accrington Blackpool etc

No it's not!

Abbey ffs read my previous posts on my stance and motives for doing what I did at the time. I'm now a ST holder because now we are off the Prem nipple BRFC needs our support more than ever.

And whilst we are at it shame on you and thousands like you for not doing exactly the same but instead choosing to financially and physically support a crooked regime intent on profiting massively from both the club and the owners. No bloody good you coming on here now 4 years late with venkyscumout posts is it? That horse bolted in 2011!

Exactly why I've said time and again that Blackburn cannot provide the necessary support to fund a top Prem team. Just as neither can any of our neighbouring towns. There is only one solution to this equation and FFP has confirmed it.

facebook?

You lived through it I assume K-Hod? In Jack we trusted.

4 years too late .. I've said venkyscum out since they took over . At the end of the day I I have notturned my back on rovers .. Venkys I hate yes but rovers I love

Potential being the key word, Swansea only have any fans or any money because they're in the PL, same with Stoke. Stoke has similar levels of deprivation to Blackburn. We were getting similar crowds to all of them when we were in the PL. The only Birmingham club with a fanbase of any decent size is Villa.

The club has got potential, the crowd versus Liverpool in the home and away games shows that.

PNE have less fans than us, yet have a much bigger population, same goes for Bolton.

Correct as for Gordon saying Stoke-on-Trent is a big city he obviously isn't very good on geography The city of Stoke on Trent is made up of different towns the centre being Hanley the university being in Newcastle under lyme and also another football club in Burslem Port Vale.. The area has suffered deprivation since the decline of the coal industry and the pottery industry also one of the areas biggest employer's closed last year co-op travels head office

I was good at history as it happens, however whilst history is fine the future is much more important.

What are you trying to do wewrite history

Not at all Athlete ..just pointing out that its a shame the ground wasnt re developed on all four sides to a capacity that Blackburn Rovers could get close to actually filling.

Im sorry if historys "figures" pour water onto your idea that Rovers had this phenomenal fan base but unfortunately we didnt and wont.Dont let the glory years cloud your judgement.

And now we sit with the other 11000 dotted around three stands and stare at 8000 leeds fans vocally ripping our roof off and come crying on here saying how outrageous that they got that many tickets in the first place.

Get fcking used to it ..

I know that, we all know that tbh BUT actions will always speak louder than words. You say you love rovers? Sometimes you have to hurt the ones that you love and if everybody had taken my stance then I suggest the past 4 years would have been very different.

When did I say Stoke was a big city?

However it's much bigger than BwD and apart from the mighty Crewe and Port vale there are no significant clubs within 40 miles of them. Compare that to our situation.

Fair play but you said it was a city which it is but it doesn't give them a right to compete better than Rovers so is Chester Lancaster etc wouldn't mean they could compete better than Rovers

Yep, if everyone had taken to the golf course we might not have even been in existence by now. Every credit to you for seeing the error of your ways and returning to attending games. :tu:

Athlete.... Stoke to Manchester? No idea but I'd wager its further than from BBurn to Manchester.

Course we would, the club didn't depend on the gate receipts back then like it does now.

btw Don't join the oiks!

Nothing is altering the fact that venkys plus others have ruined BRFC and don't seem to have any intention or interest in putting the situation right

Venky's brought the club to it's knees. It'll be the 'supporters' who will kill it.

Your stance? :) Comedy gold. When did you stop attending? When did you start attending again? Your reason for going playing golf instead of supporting the team as we hurtled towards relegation was to avoid filling the coffers of the unscrupulous players and agents? Really? Have I got this right? :) Had we been relegated by then? Did you still attend the half season after Allardyce was potted? Pray tell.

You do know we are still paying the likes of Best and Orr don't you? And Robinson. And Dunn all last season after his contract renewal last time round? And others in stage managed payments? Pleased you are now happy contributing financially to these monthly payments for low-lifes like Best and Orr, but I am not sure how that fits with the supposed stance you claim you took way back then. Unless that was last years brain wave and this years is the superfan stance with a hint of North West County amalgamation.

The university is actually in Stoke. It's staffs uni and they are based on a campus near the railway station. Keeled uni is in Newcastle. I know cos my daughter did her broadcast training at Stoke. The uni is excellent for certain subjects, one being mediatraining

The club depends on its gate receipts at this time? Are you hungover? We lose 20+ MILLION per year. Gate receipts will NEVER recoup that loss even if we sold out each week. I bet gate receipts dont even pay Rhodes salary each month. We need the TV money from the PL. Simple as that.

Most clubs gate receipts don't come near the wage bill the TV prem money is what's required

In all fairness den once the individual members of the Walker Trust who had been given the poisoned chalice and decided that they had carried the club long enough the writing was on the wall. We got to the Prem through a level of financial input that the supporters of BRFC were unable to provide. The fall was avoidable as you, I and others knew in 2010 /11 but since the fall from grace happened we are simply finding our own level. Unfortunately town teams can never dine long at the top table.

NW County is coming ever nearer. Both us and Bolton are out of our depth financially and could easily drown, Blackpool should Oyston leave will return to a permanent place in the 4th Div, Hemmings and PNE will fall apart at some time (although tbh if he bides his time which he doesn't have all that much of PNE could easily benefit from the demise of their neighbours.). Unfortunately when it happens we will have to negotiate from a position of weakness.

Well i know it's close season but hells bells there's some real rubbish being put on here today, stadium too big- no fans etc, rubbish, if we were back in the prem we would have great gates just look at the Liverpool match, fans wanted it as much as the players, we have fickle fans the week after where where they, but hey it shows they WILL come back if we get back in the premiership, as for NW counties @#/?, well that's what it is. I admire your posts though, got plenty people going there my friend, even me. :rover:

Have you blolocks. Made absolutely no sense to me to protest outside and then go in and watch the match. Principles I guess. What did you do at that time? March, protest outside then buy a programme then go in? Don't attack me for having the foresight to see the wood from the trees as so many were completely unable to do.

I cant do anything about Best and Orr because they were signed by the very people that I was objecting too and the reason for my boycott. I fail to see how you can ever choose to ridicule me for what events have confirmed was effectively the right thing and should have been done by everybody who likes to consider themselves a supporter.

btw contrary to the silly immature insinuations of the resident knuckle draggers I don't play golf on Saturdays and never have. If I did wtf has it got to do with boycotting a corrupt regime? However it seems that I must type this appears in invisible ink as I have repeated this frequently yet so many are unable to see it.

Wrong to blame the fans even you stopped going

BTW I still go come what may as what else is there to do on a Saturday 99% of the time of recent the football actually spoils the day.. I'd go even if we ended up playing at Pleasington.. Short walk up the hill decent pint in the railway

You're just being provocative for the sake of it now. Like I said, a self-parody.

Was it the fans who run up unserviceable levels of debt? That'll be what kills the club off, if anything.

Pretty accurate I thought.

Funny though how the word 'investment' is trotted out continually regarding football clubs. Press, media, managers, and supporters bleat out about their club desperately needing investment. We get some gormless feckers to invest countless millions into our club and then moan and play hell about it. ^_^

Blackburn Olympic supporters no doubt said that when the Rovers was formed. They were dinosaurs too.

The idea of East Lancs clubs merging was being bandied about in the 1960s - some people haven't moved on and realised the notion is a dead as the dinosaurs.

I don't care if you played golf all week. But you obviously do. I personally don't blame anyone for not attending the Rovers at anytime this last five years or so. But you obviously do. Its been mind-numbingly boring, depressing and unsatisfactory for as long as I can remember. Toxic at times as well. Most of us could find much better things to do on a Saturday and many have made that choice already. Like you did.
