The sale of Scott Dann was the start of the downfall of Hanley. He looked good alongside Dann and was progressing well.

Giving him the captaincy has been a obvious OG. GH seems to get bigger and bigger, and slower and slower every time I see him. He has the turning circle of a oil tanker these days.

It's a shame because up until the last 12 months he looked a real prospect.

i think his spell on the sidelines might be the kick up the arse he needs, killgallon has to be captian, age and experince demands that.i would be happy with this back 5

henly killa duffy ollson

Nothing wrong with that. Everything wrong with being the captain of a professional football club and almost having a beer belly!

i suppose you were one off them that said dunny was fat,he was made captian by the manager as for having a beer belly your obviously joking or suffering from some eating disorder.

Season ticket renewed today, if core squad retained, Lowe, Duffy, Hanley back, young players coming through, maybe prospect of good loans from prem clubs there could be promising prospects for 2015-16 season for us Rovers fans in Cumbria to look forward to

Do you drink or inject sheep dip ?

Never called Dunn fat because he never had a belly. Have you never seen Hanley on the lash? He's a fat bugger compared to many footballers.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to be as 'fat' as him, but by professional standards he's appalling.

Yep. He is dreadful. I did have a discussion with him about his performances but he was too pi$$ed to understand.

I don't dislike Handley tbh.... bit of a Colin Hendry, strong in the air but better with an old head next to him. Then again I've never been one to gleefully partaken in a witch hunts either. As far as I am concerned Handley and Lowe are solid members of our squad and neither are far in front or far behind the other players in their positions.

Anyway not being funny here but what advice can you offer any player who has played professional footballer in the top two divisions and represented his country many times? He'll no doubt be accosted by people like you intruding on his private life every time he shows his face around here. When he ignores them, shows disinterest or simply tells them to leave him alone in his private life why does he then turn into a debauched character and a worse player?

You put the knife in Handley plenty last season like a lot of us did. Problem for me with him is he's a bit of a maverick and marches to the beat of his own drum on the pitch. Like you say he needs someone controlling him at all times on the pitch otherwise he just plays for himself. The facts and figures showed how poor he was last season even in spells when he actually didn't look that bad individually. Needs to be a team player and learn to do as he's told and shouldn't be captain.

Needs strong leadership from the sidelines....it won't happen though.

Of course not, Saint Gordon. Unless it comes to Jordan Rhodes, then you can't grab your pitchfork quick enough.

Do you go to games or just listen to radio Rovers, genuine question.

The defence has been much better without him, even a blind man on a galloping horse can see that.

I don't agree. Apart from Baptiste who was the best CH there isn't much to choose between any of the others. Duffy and Hanley both need an experienced player alongside whilst Kilgallon is OK defensively but can't pass wind (to a level of embarrassment for any professional player). I do think that Hanley's performances have dipped but that can be either because he doesn't have as good a CH partner as Dann alongside or because he has moved to the right side. Also let us never forget that whoever plays centre half for the Rovers has had to cover and nurse Henley and Olsson. No one ever comments much criticism about these two cos they are 'tryers' but in truth they are amongst our weakest players.

He has been pretty poor for a while to be fair. Not saying he'll never be good again, but he isn't good for blood pressure...

Merely a reflection of the team. Every season our squad seems to be weaker. Next season will illustrate our fall from grace more than any other as because of FFP every player is replaced by a poorer one.

I put the knife in him when he got sent off against Wigan for a stupid act when we were 1-0 up and went on to lose the match. As I say he needs strong partners alongside. In fairness he must have had a right royal bollocking of his team mates and his manager because his aggression was much toned down after that. Before then he'd been looking to pick a fight on the pitch with anybody and everybody.

Bit silly me debating this with you because you are simply theorising from what you read in the papers. Remember I actually watch JR in the flesh from the JWU and all I see is a talented finisher in the box and a bone idle park player out of it. As I've said before he makes the difficult thing easy but imo doesn't even attempt to improve the major weaknesses in his game.

This guys antics off the pitch can't have helped him but he's young and he can cut that out and knuckle down if he's got the brains. Not sure he has though.

you a clairvoyent or know the guy personally, hanley has had 6 months off,he will be suffering and drinking is a illness,up to rovers how they deal with it,boesmar sounesses assistant slagged dunny and duffer for playing pool in a pub on a thursday evening whilst drinking coke,i know i bought it,the @#/? stunk off ale and craig short told him so,but both dunny and duffer were sold by the mad jock.its a poisioned arrow which direction you fire it in.

And you still haven't a clue what you're talking about. Ouch.

Coming from you your criticism actually becomes a compliment.

I take it English is not your first language Stefan?

Apart from the fact I've seen it with my own eyes I know a lad who moves in the same circle. By all accounts Hanley is a sound lad but his lifestyle at times left a lot to be desired for a professional athlete. This was going on way way before any strange injury lay off.

plus I don't need to be a clairvoyant to know your posts often seem as if your @#/? :tu:

If your captain needs an old head next to him - for whatever reason - he shouldn't be captain.

Lowe and Hanley (one of these days you'll spell his name correctly) may well be solid squad members but both should be on the bench, not in the starting line up.

The car sort of took me to Ewood yesterday on autopilot to renew .

Moved back to the Blackburn End after 3 years in the Darwen end , hopefully the atmosphere has improved a little.

I guess the decision to renew was based on meeting up with mates on match day , rather than an expectation of the team achieving an awful lot on the pitch .

There was a few in club shop getting their first season tickets , which was encouraging . Quite a few friends who said they wouldn't renew , have also had a change of heart , citing what else would they do on a Saturday as Rovers is all they know
