[Archived] Season tickets again!

Recommended Posts

Haven't they been off sale for weeks? Initially they said a few days just to release the seats not renewed by ST holders, but it seems to have dragged on much longer, any reason you know of O2G?

If we can get close to last years tally it will be a great show of loyalty after a frankly depressing close season.

I asked Rovers on twitter and I was told that ppl can call into the Roverstore and get them and the staff will be able to help them fill in ST's

So Season tickets are available

How many other clubs in the whole league don't have their season tickets available online?

A quick search shows that you can buy Accrington Stanley ST's online - yet Rovers don't have the technology!

Things are a shambles at Ewood these days.

Can't imagine why any football club wouldn't sell a supporter a season ticket at any time over summer. Unless they were thinking of putting the club into administration. And no, I don't believe that's the case.

Did you ask them why?

Is it related to the skidata thing being updated?

Something to do with processing all the claim your own seat deadline sales then releasing the ones previously reserved for holders last season

Stop being negative, don't you have communities to manage?

I'll manage your community in a minute young man! (I don't know what that means)

Might be to do with the system being upgraded as you would have thought that would have been instantaneous if the computer system was fully operational.

At best though its extremely bad timing, in the close season which is a vital season ticket sales window.

Should have been done and dusted the minute last season finished in time for the new ST's going on sale.

Edit: Very nice of the owners to update the ticketing system for us though before they bail out imminently as Mercer keeps confidently predicting!

There has always been a gap after the claim your seat date, whilst all those who have asked to be moved are sorted out. It's probably gone on longer than usual this year because of the system update but last night they were expecting they would be back on sale by the end of this week. We were told that the staff had been taking details for anyone who wanted to buy, which would be processed as soon as the system is back online.

Thanks for clarifying.

They state we are at a similar level at the claim your seat deadline as we were last season. Final tally last season- 10000+.

However, I've no idea what the usual take up of tickets is like in the last few weeks of pre-season. Just say, we are currently at 6000, would the club expect a few more thousand to be sold prior to to first game?

What happens with Rhodes and Gestede would have a bearing on that IMO

I've no idea what percentage of tickets we would normally have sold by now.

The one other fact I do know is that ST sales do continue for several weeks after the start of the season. We don't usually see a complete totl until into September. There's a fair bit of marketing to those who buy one-off tickets for the first couple of home games.

Should we do a Cardiff and close one of the stands for the season? Would be controversial, as I am sure everyone would have their say on which it should or shouldn't be. Riverside faces the tv, and jack walker would look odd with the management in there and no one else. Just playing Devils advocate, but thought it was an interesting decision on their behalf.

Cameras on the Riverside roof. Close the Riverside unless there is a big match, fill up JW Lower and JW Darwen End upper outer with Riversiders (way better view). Common sense and our status will automatically be elevated. Three sides of Ewood are magnificent and if JW were alive and with similar circumstances and it would have been done. Reports from the 80's when it was built (with free steel) suggest that he hated it and was very critical of the board.

The money it would cost to build a tv gantry on the Riverside would more than wipe out any savings made. The posse from the Riverside - lots who don't turn up for tv games anyway - would fill only a minute corner of the already empty JW upper. You want to sit in the Riverside or BBE for a bog standard game and have a look at the JW, you could fit everyone in there in one half of the lower tier, it looks ridiculous and one of the saddest reflections of our current times.
