Looking at those fixtures, think we need 74 points.

20 points from our remaining 9 games is very doable.

Game on.

Its the hope that gets you in the end.

The DiffErence in starting points is the key for me. Not only do we have to win at least 7 of those games, we'd definitely have to beat brentford and ipswich, and rely on the others all failing to win more than 2 or 3 of their games too in order to bridge that gap.

75 points is the target for me. Of the teams above us, Forest are in our hands as we have to play them and we can take points off Brentford and Ipswich as we play both of them too. Those three are must win games.

That leaves Wolves who look to have a very tough run in and are stuttering a tad at the moment results wise.

So, it's 7 wins from 9 with 3 of them having to come against the aforementioned teams. That then means 4 from 6 and that seems doable looking at who we have to play (you'd have to fancy 6 points from Brighton and Millwall for a start).

Unfortunately, we've been here before and there's a big doubt as to whether the performances will be there when the pressure is cranked up. I expect us to throw one in similar to Yeovil last year and fall about half a dozen points short.

and mine on you :-)

your usual wonderful contribution. Why don't you start a thread and actually contribute for once instead of just sniping in the background?

It was only a couple of days ago you suggested a topic be closed, presumably because you didn't like some of the posts, or was it because you did not start the topic

I think Blueboy3333 is on the Ewood payroll. I asked him yesterday and he didn't deny it as far as I can see.

I was thinking about this last night. It's extremely weird to think that after what most would have considered a terrible season up until a couple of weeks ago we're 9 League wins, 3 play off wins and 3 Cup wins away from what would have to go down as one of the greatest seasons in the history of the Club.

Just goes to show that it's never over until it's over but I still think we'll fall some way short of the play off places which will make it a dreadfully disappointing League season given the squad we have had at our disposal. ( probably the best we'll have for some time)

Edit: #THE MAGIC 15.

If we win all those I'll gladly do a Chaddy and change my mind on GB.!

From the players' and manager's point of view, no point thinking any number other than 27 will suffice. We have to treat it as if we needed nine wins to stay up.

Old cliché, but one game at a time, heads down, win it, on to the next.

Nine times.

Very doable? Really forgetting every time we get close to he playoffs we bottle it its a hurculean task for an inconsistent mid table team to put a minimum of 6 wins together. At best it's a very remote outside that's still only just mathematically possible. If we win our next 15 games we are fa cup winners and will play in the prem next season. Doable?

If the concensus is 75pts is the playoff target. Assuming that we get 21 more points (which we won't do) but let's say we do then does anyone really think that Brentford will only pick up 13 points or less and Ipswich only pick up 14 pts or less and wolves only pick up 16 pts or less and we also better forest's results.

Anyone who genuinely believes we are in the play off race are setting themselves up for a totally unnecessary disappointment. It's goes beyond blind faith it's madness even stupidity to think we have any realistic chance.

Its my view of what we need to get top 6 points wise.

We in form. Won last 3 league games

I think we need a lot more than 21 points Chaddy. We 're in the same position as Forest so finishing above them shouldn't be a problem in theory with a good run.

However after that, allowing for an inferior goal difference we need to finish six, eight and nine points better off than Wolves Ipswich and Brentford respectively over the last nine games. Twenty one points assumes they'll all only limp in with twelve or thirteen points from the last nine games.

Say we beat Brentford on Tuesday but they then finish strongly with sixteen points from the other eight games. We'd need twenty five points out of twenty seven. The same more or less applies to Ipswich give or take a point.

Last season we went 12 unbeaten, 6 wins and 6 draws= 24 points from 12.

If you count are last 12 this season, we already have 3 wins- if we repeat last season, we will have no chance (3 more wins and 6 draws)

GBs team has never gone on a big winning streak- our form in 2015 has been good in all comps( 10 wins in 18 is it?) I think we will end the season with about 72 points.

I'd love to be suprised and it's at least good to be in with a shout rather than the season being over. The chance of a wembley visit is still not out of the question, I suspect this isn't the case for 50/60 clubs in the fl.

Brenford's the crucial one on Tuesday. I look at the teams in the play-offs though and I would say we've got absolutely no hope if we get there. Anyhow, we finally seem have some progress in terms of what the table is showing, even if it is minor. We are one place and 3 points better off than last season, at this stage. I find it amazing considering how poor we've been since Christmas!

It's a very slim chance, but we need to keep doing what we have been doing (winning and being organised), I still think we'll finish up short though.
