[Archived] 9 game shoot out

Recommended Posts

It's a very slim chance, but we need to keep doing what we have been doing (winning and being organised), I still think we'll finish up short though.

Can see us just falling short.. Pity has we are more than capable of better

Brenford's the crucial one on Tuesday. I look at the teams in the play-offs though and I would say we've got absolutely no hope if we get there. Anyhow, we finally seem have some progress in terms of what the table is showing, even if it is minor. We are one place and 3 points better off than last season, at this stage. I find it amazing considering how poor we've been since Christmas!

So, you are basically saying that in order to just compete with last seasons total were we didn't get in the play offs, we need to go on the same run as the end of last season to not make the play offs again.?

I actually think in one off cup type games, we have a good chance of success in the play offs. However, we won't make it whilst we have holes in our arses.

to be fair it is valid thread and the opening post is very well written and laid out,

but you'd have to be on the doctor prescribed happy pills to really believe we are going to take 6 place(or higher)

Are you saying Parson and Chaddy are on drugs?

I don't think anyone 'believes we will make the playoffs'.

However, we CAN while it is mathematically plausible. I'm sure we all hope for it and anyone who doesn't should find another club to support.

I don't see us reaching the top six although, as Mike says, its mathematically possible at the moment. However, too many results would need to go in our favour which we can't influence.

We can influence it in so far as we can win our last nine games (making 12 in total) although there's nothing whatsoever in our form over the last two seasons to suggest we're remotely capable of doing that.

Indulging in pointless speculation for a second I'd say 27 points will do it, 25 ought to do it and 23-4 would give us a chance.

I'm back to basics, we missed out massively against Blackpool, Weds, needed not to lose against Norwich, pick up points here and there, which has alluded GB thus far. Too little, loo late.

Nine threes etc., it's made me look forward to Tuesday night, but anything other than a win and our very small window of opportunity slams shut.

As said before, the table doesn't lie, we are playing catchup, my expectations are low.

It was only a couple of days ago you suggested a topic be closed, presumably because you didn't like some of the posts, or was it because you did not start the topic

1)I don't remember ever asking for a topic to be closed down, i would'nt be that ignorant. It would be great if you could quote it to jog my memory?

2) i'm really not that precious to get upset when i don't start a topic or i don't like some of the posts. it does give an insight into the way you think though.

I think Blueboy3333 is on the Ewood payroll. I asked him yesterday and he didn't deny it as far as I can see.

Using your rationale you must be on wee dougie's payroll...or Bolton's...or Nixon's etc etc. I'm certainly not on Rovers payroll, although Shebby once was so there's hope for us all. Maybe try and get your head round the fact that not everyone is as miserable as you, and not everyone comes on a BRFC forum to constantly slag off anything to do with the club. It seems a waste of time.

thanks, i actually only did it so people could see what the remaining fixtures were, in a 'we're all part of the same community so i'll post something that might be of some use to somebody on here' type way. I can see now that it's a waste of time and like most threads it's just hijacked by the same depressing, dismissive cretins who ruin most threads.

For my part, anything that encourages debate is legitimate. After three wins in the league at this stage of the season and it's still possible to get into the top six, good to talk. But, like all fans, there are optimists, pessimists, and the permanently p*ssed.

I'm looking forward to Tuesday, we win, I will look even more forward to Saturday. It's called being a footy fan......

One game is not a trend.....sadly......beat every team higher than us both home and away between now and May would mean little as the buggeration factor is the man in charge.Next season will be just another reflection of Bowyer. Not good enough. In fact not whilst he has a hole in his bum and all that jazz.

I'm not a big fan either, but where there is life, embrace it. If we'd won every game this season we'd have been promoted. Loons don't have a clue, so we are left with Gary.

Extremely slim chance as we need to get 24-25 points out of 27 and we have not shown that kind of form this or any previous season.

We will like last season most probably end up just short, while it is great that we are getting wins at the moment it is deeply frustrating to think about the points that we have dropped at Ewood Park to the likes of Blackpool, Sheffield Weds and Wolves, those will be the points that will end up costing us a top 6 finish.

A few weeks ago I had all but written off this season, so while the chances are very slim it does at least keep it alive for a few more games at least. Hoping that we can win the next 2 games and go into the 2 week international break still hanging on.
