Same with Bamber Bridge.

Bamber Bridge has always historically been split between Rovers and PNE. My grandad told me that if you were born on the Chorley side of the level crossing you were Rovers and on the other side Preston. And he used to walk to Ewood for home games. In the 30s he had money for the bus or the match ticket but not both.

Of course it's the place with the burials and resurrections for both clubs as well (or it was until a few years ago).

I worked in Preston pre Jack Walker days and there were plenty of Rovers fans around then. It's just one of those things. Bearing in mind where Claytons Le Moors and Rishton are, there's far more Burnley fans pro rata than there should be. Same with Bamber Bridge. They don't seem to be able to get over it though.

Best experience ever at their place was the game in October 1974. Three train loads over by mid day and that wooden shed behind the nets absolutely rammed, wooden terracing towards the back, the place was bouncing literally. You could see out to that park from the terracing and even before the game had finished Rovers fans were chasing them back to where God knows where.

Was that the game that was on Granada. Sinstadt got an earful as he walked by us behind tbe nets.

Many panning their manager tonight, a lot of similar things to our issues with Bowyer it seems. Think they've got to be a bit more realistic having just stepped up again for the first time in years. They'd become an established league 1 side and it's not as if he isn't experienced or doesn't know this division.

Deluded cretins had less than 10k on the other night, would just love to beat this lot and hope they return where they belong, a division or 2 below us :P

Too early to start the Preston away thread so thought I was as well post this here. As I'm gonna be away and will miss the Burnley game (shock horror)

It's likely that my next game will be Preston Away on Saturday 21st November. Does anyone reckon this will be a bus in bus out game - or "open tickets" and travel of your own accord?

After a Rovers win I rather fancy getting a Lord of the Rings costume on and blending in with the proper Prestonians at Bounce by the Ounce.

Just buy some of those baggy grey trackie bottoms, grey hoodie with hood up and finally some scruffy black trainers. You'll look like every Prestonian I've ever seen and blend in perfectly.

Saturday afternoon very local derby, no restrictions and sensibly priced. About bloody time, no reason why we shouldn't shift most if not all of them. In the absence of Wigan and Blackpool this is the big day out now, chuck in the fact it could be a stay out of the bottom 3 battle as well

We've more or less around 11 thousand season ticket holders.

This should be the popular day out, free from the restrictions of Burnley and Bolton.

Still imagine we will struggle to shift 5400 though.

Wonder why North End don't need to 'cash in' on the big crowd as was Myers/Shaws justification for £35 v Burnley whilst on tv?

I was thinking that, it's probably their most attractive league game this season yet they don't hike up the prices. Then again they don't have to line the pockets of the boys in blue. Wouldn't be surprised to see us hike it up for the return fixture unless shelf is generous to his fellow fans.

I've just phoned up for tickets. I want to sit in sction M but the chap at the ticket office said that 'we're only selling section L at the moment and won't start selling in M till L is filled'

As section M is central I asked him when will they be on sale and was told to phone back 'maybe tomorrow... maybe wednesday'. He couldn't say exactly when! Very poor.

A frequent problem with away games. Those who buy their tickets early doors get their tickets allocated first in the more peripheral blocks. More often than not that means in the lower tier or in the corners of grounds as Rovers are instructed to start in the corner and then work outwards as they sell more tickets.

In the case of Preston this means that those who get their tickets in the middle phase will get the 'best' seats directly behind the goals whilst those who get them first or last will end up in the corners.
