Most of those honours seem to have been won pre the Prem founding yet I thought football only started in Blackburn in 1992 !

Funny reading these posts from desperate Prestonites...

Fine, you had Tom Finney but you've never seen the sheer amount of quality we have at Ewood in more recent years... Shearer, Sutton, Hendry, Flowers, Tugay, Duff, Dunn, Berg, Friedel, Santa Cruz, Bentley, Bellamy, Andy Cole, Jansen. League cups, League titles, European football. None of you lot, Burnley, Bolton (who hardly matter) can even dare to compare, you always have been in our shadow.

You're going to be out-sung for 90 mins on Saturday, it will be like a home game for us but do make the most of it because based on the evidence of what I saw against Bolton, it could well be a while before you play us lot again.

'Big club that never was' followers have a serious case of delusions of grandeur. They'll be claiming that a massive South American country was named after Gary Brazil next.

Country & Westerns the lot of them.

Digs at Blackpoo Tom? Even im not that much of a nob, like kicking a dying animal taking the @#/? out of them lot.

Its fair to say Burnley are now bigger than the both of us. Maybe we should take digs at them anyway just for that keany away stand.

Are you high? Just because Burnley are in a better position, it doesn't make them a bigger club, even than you lot!

Feeling a bit insecure are we ?

Feel slightly embarrassed to have taken the high ground against Nobber now, having seen some of ours on there doing basically the same as what he did.

Very true. I decided to steer well clear of commenting, not worth arguing with that lot!

Ok let's move on from attendances (i know new territory for you), what should we expect from your team on Saturday, in terms of formation, style of play etc?

Why are folk going on there to wind them up? Poor do, would never cross my mind to go on another clubs message board on the wind up. Let the footy do the talking on Saturday.

Saturday's team: Steele/Henley, Hanley, Duffy, Olsson/Conway, Gutherie, Evans, Marshall/Lawrence/Rhodes

At it from the start. 4-1 with Rhodes hat trick.

Delirium on here post match.

Better at the moment but bigger ? No nay never :)

Anyway at least you lot get to turn up and leave that death trap of a wooden shack when you want. We get shoved in it one hour and a half before kick off then locked in for half an hour or so afterwards, depending on how angry the dingles are, before being herded back on buses for the 1 hour crawl back to Ewood.

Onto our game on Sat, despite all the hot air flying around which is good as it's a proper derby I actually don't think for one min we'll turn up and roll you over. 2 of North Ends best players with ex Rovers connections, big crowd fired up, small ground that can be intimidating. All the ingredients for sending offs, penalties etc. Tough tough game for us, hell we used to struggle at Wigan.

2-2 and i'll take it now.

I had been looking at their site for a few days (not posting) and was amazed how slow the posting traffic is.

The 'Derby' thread started on 11th Nov and still just at page 22 but with only 220 ish posts.

If a couple of ours weren't on there stirring it up it would have been much less.

Quite a few sensible Nobber posters though and mainly discussing if we are their main 'Derby' game... and a few wannabe hard-men.

Nowhere near the infighting that we are so good at. ^_^

Blimey Mercer, they've kept 5-6 clean sheets at home this season. Lambert or no Lambert I don't think we'll go there and suddenly smash 4 goals in. I'd take a 1-0 right now with the winner canonning in off Browny's fat arse.

Some cannon that! all the way from a table at the Ewood medical room.

It will be very interesting how we line up - will he attempt to instill his tactics from the start - or make the transition more gently.

Personally would have Apkan to complement the pressing game I read Lambert favours. Would be interesting if anyone has background on how he might set the team up - 4-3-3 (4-5-1) seemed to be his preferred tactic at Villa.

We were talking earlier on this thread, and briefly on the lambert thread, about let downs when we have had large followings at Wigan and Bolton in the recent past.

It's not just there. Two trips to Old Trafford stick in my mind.

Firstly the fa cup semi against Chelsea with the MGP header. The atmosphere had been cracking all day and had that gone in, manchester would have been amazing that night.

Also, we took another large following only to be disappointed to OT in the league cup semi final in which Saha 'shinned' one past Brad.

One a more positive note, the league cup QF at Wigan when they had the away fans down the side of the ground and Cole scored twice (I think) was a great night.
