Loving it!

I've not been this excited about going to a game in a long time.

People desperate to get hold of any spares, trying to get tickets in the home areas with PR postcodes, new manager, renewed optimism....

Roll on Saturday. What a match to take my little un to her 2nd away game, and I'd promised her we'd go before the season even started!

Where's best to park on matchdays round there? I'm assuming they'll have the 'parking police' on the retail park?

COYB

They do match day parking for a fiver at Moor Park school which is next to ground, I'm planning on parking there

There is plenty of street parking on the other side of the level crossing. Not too bad for getting away if you head towards London Road and the A6.

Just read this on the PNE fans forum :

" People will wake up Saturday morning, see the glorious sunshine and then decide to go and get a ticket. 20,000+ crowd e thinks. People won't want to miss out on such a fine day."

Typical fair weather fans !!

Ring the ticket office and leave your number in case any come up. Players will have some they can't shift and there will be returns.

Did that this morning, they said don't bother big list already.

Saturday's team: Steele/Henley, Hanley, Duffy, Olsson/Conway, Gutherie, Evans, Marshall/Lawrence/Rhodes

At it from the start. 4-1 with Rhodes hat trick.

Delirium on here post match.

Adam Henley is your weak link .

I like your ploy.

"Don't bother. No chance of a ticket".

Meanwhile your chances get better. ;)

I wish that was the case....

I'm pulling out all the stops, ive set hares running in all directions, so we'll see.

If all else fails it could be home end, we'll see.

Wonder how many we could have sold!

Loads, this is your big day out in the city.

Look at you getting all giddy about how many you're taking, congratulations you took more than your average 700 or so to a game 15 minutes down the road! :)

Fact is we average far more than you lot away, loyal supporters.

It's a bumper crowd because lots of our fans have never been to Preston away before. A combination of our temporary relegation to this league and your temporary promotion to this league has seen a lot of interest.

Unfortunately you'll go down this season and we'll go up, so it's some what of a one off chance assuming we don't get you in the cup.

Should definately bring back the Lancashire cup pre season games, its good to experience lower league grounds.

Fact is you went on a promotion charge last season and you are newly promoted now, ergo you take decent followings.

Pretty standard really.

I'd be more concerned with the fact that you've been promoted, with all the goodwill and optimism that brings, yet hardly added any home fans.

When will the sleeping giant awaken?

Let's see how those numbers stack up at the end of the season, like I said. Living up to your username though lad, I'll give you that!

As an aside, do you think you'd bring more than we're taking to your place to Ewood in April next year, (April Fools day incidentally, so answer carefully) given you (4 months into the season) average more than us away?! I've got my doubts ;-)

Preston being a 'City' is the biggest joke!

I don't doubt with you punching above your weight in a higher league for the first time in a while you will get a few more day trippers away from home. It must be a bit grim going to the likes of Oldham, Crewe & Scunthorpe every other week.

On the other hand I believe your home attendance was 10,000 the other week. Big City club eh?

Preston's city status completely devalues that epithet. It's pretty much the same size as Blackburn and a dull, uninspiring place. Pretty much like a northern version of Dunstable.
