My only 'home end' venture was getting free tickets at Old Trafford when we won 2-1.

I jumped up when we scored, but luckily managed to remember where I am before I celebrated. A half hearted flail of the arm made me look (unconvincingly) like a disgruntled United fan.

I remember walking out of the ground and they were all chanting '4-4-2' outside, and one menacing United fan said 'if I see a Blackburn fan I'll kill em' or something to that extent. Needless to say I kept my head down!

Old Trafford is a vile place to go to whichever end you're sat in. I remember going in a game we were easily beaten in and the level of snarling hostility from the home fans outside the ground was quite surprising. At least until you start considering the correlation between gloryhunters and chavs. Almost all the total d*ckheads at my school gloryhunted Man U, so its not surprising on the whole their fans are a-holes.

Aye yeah, there's a lot of arrogance there. Remember another time leaving once and being met by plenty of hostility as we made our way back to the train station - we'd lost too. Odd bunch.

Everton away - their main stand. Shearer got fouled / clattered just on the half way line. Thick scouse accent sat next to us shouts "take that Shearer you greedy bast...." before he could finish his sentence, Wilcox - thwack! - 1 - 0. 30 yarder. Me and my mate couldn't contain ourselves - we were up. They were fairly good with us actually.

Leeds away the other year. Bit of a corporate job, that doesn't count.

Man City - years back. Garns shot and it looked from where I was sat that it was going in, it sailed just over the cross bar. But no, I was convinced it was in and was up again. They were OK as well. I think that was the day we conceded six mind you so it was more out of pity.

Bolton several times, only really sussed once years ago under Hodgson after Sherwood gave the ball away again and I berated him loudly from my seat in the main stand upper. People around us were fine but got a bit of abuse from a few rows behind. We lost so it was mickey taking instead of threats in the end.

The Anfield Kop in December 1963 and Palace away play-off semi in 1989.

The first was a nice enjoyable but cold day out but the later was horrendous and not just the match. I had to get back alone to a train station as I was based then in Haywards Heath, still get bad flash backs..

I just hate to think how big a deflationary sound will be heard on this thread if we lose on Saturday....

My biggest fear - mainly because it seems to be what Rovers do best - build up the fans expectations only to knock them down again. Lets hope this is the real deal - and Lambert takes us forward.

I don't recall many wins when the fans have been so up for a game away from home and travelling in massive numbers. This side is a poor side, so I'm not expecting miracles, but let's break that hoodoo on Saturday.

I remember playing Bolton away in the cup and we had tickets in the home end, Blake scored first and half the stand went up!

Leeds kop was an experience, especially after Shearer bagged 1 at that end, almost got lynched.

I don't think I could ever sit in the home end at an away game myself. Fair play to anyone having the restraint to stay in disguise.....

I did that once at anfield, I looked just a few seats to my side numerous times thinking who is that?? Seen him before somewhere, I realised its mark wright, he kept looking at me probably thinking what a nutter, needless to say the game ended 0-0 and Jason mcateer's, then a Liverpool player got a terrible injury

I was at that game- think I was 10 at the time. We lost 6 0. Very depressing! The next time I went to maine rd we won 2-1 Iirc sean curry scored twice.

Coincidentally I sat next to Mark Wright on the day we won the league at Anfield. He was very generous as well and congratulated the many Rovers fans who were in the main stand that day.

The Anfield Kop in December 1963

Oh what a night that was!!
