Tallrover Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Until January he can only implement half his ideas. He can change tactics now, then in Jan he can change some of the players. Hopefully we have made decent progress in the interim.

Ewooduknow Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 More than I expected so congrats to Lambert and his players today.
Backroom trueblue Posted November 21, 2015 Backroom Posted November 21, 2015 We have a +1 goal difference too
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 A confidence installing derby away win..can't ask for more. Now for those Sheff Wednesday tickets folks!
Pedro Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Top of the bottom. Positive goal difference. Away win. Great stuff, I'll drink to that.
rovers11 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Good win. Not an easy place to go. Lambert`s reign off to a successful start.
USABlue Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Same here. I had earmarked this game at the start of the season as a definite. Low and behold I find out 2 weeks ago that the wife has arranged a girls day out in Leeds and therefore I have the 3 kids today and night. Gutted. Enjoy everyone. COYB. Same here. Will she have your balls in her handbag while in Leeds. What's this world coming to?
Proudtobeblue&white Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Good start, need to beat Wednesday next Saturday, hope there is surge in support. Need a feel good factor to emerge, Paul, over to you?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I'm delighted with a win, I would have taken a draw at 3.00. 5 days is no time to make any real sort of impact. At least Lambert will have seen what he's up against, our strengths and weaknesses. Sounds like he brought a bit of luck with him. One thing about Bowyer, he'd no bloody luck at all.

At least Lambert will have seen what he's up against, our strengths and weaknesses. Sounds like he brought a bit of luck with him. One thing about Bowyer, he'd no bloody luck at all. The problem with Bowyer is that we relied on luck far too often, and seemed to accept that we needed luck to get something out of a game. I get the feeling Lambert will want a stronger attitude than that.
Ewooduknow Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Very similar to the game where we won promotion with a heart in mouth moment right at the end, in 2001 macken hit the post, this time the penalty incident.
USABlue Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 A wins a win. Did not sound like a stellar performance but we won. That is a good thing.
Cherry Blue Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Good 3 points lots to do but great start under new manager.
Fraserkirky Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Huge game next week with Wednesday. Win that and we are right back in the mix. Then we have three games against lower half teams. 2 of which are at home. Optimism is a wonderful thing. 'Paul Lambert's Blue and White Army"
Bucksrover Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Good start, need to beat Wednesday next Saturday, hope there is surge in support. Need a feel good factor to emerge, Paul, over to you? I would imagine after winning today Lambert and the players will quite rightly say it's over to supporters to get down Ewood. Hope we get a good crowd
Ewooduknow Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 It would make such a difference if we could create some kind of atmosphere at ewood and increased supporter levels wouldn't do any harm to that end.
roverandout Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I'm going to be there, first game in over 2 years

Hope we get a good crowd Today's win was great but performances will need to improve for the crowd to play their part. Trundling the ball around until we go behind isn't the way we need to be starting. Start off at 100 % effort ! Get your foot on your opponents throat and keep it there.
Mercer Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Great start for Lambert. We weren't really at the races until we got our first goal - perhaps trying too hard to impress. Preston played some good stuff down the left side and Henley was all at sea in that first half. Great pen from Rhodes - never looked like missing. For about 10 minutes after our second, visibly, you could see the confidence soaring - pity we couldn't keep PNE at bay for just a few more minutes. Hanley and Duffy immense - in contrast, are there any central defenders as agricultural as PNE's, boy those two really are League 1 standard. Great Rovers' support - sadly, we had to sit on hands in Tom Finney when Rovers scored - sadly, a handful who couldn't contain their joy were exposed by the knobbers and ejected. Liked the way we pressed high up but did we did seem to run out of steam in the last 15 minutes. Onwards and upwards, belief, confidence and momentum key. Finally, is our new goalie coach Laurence Batty Dr Phil Batty's brother ? They certainly seem to have eaten the same number of pies ! Happy days - the Rovers' buzz is back.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Funny game football - played far better under Bowyer, but couldn't get a win. Amazed at the referee - such an experienced referee shouldn't be bias towards one team. Amazed at the number of fouls Garner did on both Hanley and Duffy without us getting a free kick - as soon as Rhodes did similar he gave away a foul - go figure ! Whatever the performance - the result was absolutely key - while winning players and fans will buy into what Lambert is trying to do - which in truth may take some time.
Bucksrover Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Today's win was great but performances will need to improve for the crowd to play their part. I think we can be a bit like this as fans. I know we have been through a lot but if a new manager of the calibre of lambert, and a win against a local rival doesn't get a few more down Ewood I will be disappointed
roverandout Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I have bought into it already, best manager since Hughes!!

It'll take a fair amount of time to develop a really effective pressing game. I don't expect that side of our game to be up to speed before Xmas. We need to work on our core fitness.
Pedro Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I have bought into it already, best manager since Hughes!! I didn't go, so I'll say since Allardyce ☺
