Goodness me Longsider owd chap...you don't half sound rattled today!

That usual cool and apathetic demeanour has slipped and that VERY bitter Claret (always simmering just below the surface as with all Burnleys fans) comes pouring out.

LOVE IT!

T'aint me sounding rattled SG, just light hearted banter on my part :-)

Ings has gone, Dyche next :tu:

Liverpool really pushing the boat out to win the league next season

Come on you can do better than that - Ings going to Liverpool has been one of footballs worst kept secrets for 12 months now - and whatever the destination he was always leaving this summer, mind you with the likely compensation figures rising there could be another couple of holiday villas on order as I type. Dyche going on the other hand ... that is going to be a potential issue

Not too sure what Tottenham was thinking by suposedly bidding £12M. As you say worst kept secret that Ings always wanted to go Liverpool and Liverpool wanted him. The bid from Tottenham could be good news for the Dingles in that it may just push up the compo figure that a tribunal may set ?

Ah that longsider fellow tries to be cool but the burnley fan will always end up reading its classless head

I suppose I do look forward to seeing the time two of their England internationals have minor handbags while league champions in the champions league

That really is clutching at straws as far as jibes go

At least Liverpool didn't pay for lambert mk2

And as for dyche his stock is utterly distorted especially considering his success or indeed lack of

Can't understand why the Burnley board didn't tie up Ings on a nice juicy long term contract after promotion. Then again that would be taking money out of the directors parachute funds if they couldn't flog him :rover:

Good signing for Liverpool, have to say Burnley had a corker there... Definitely worth keeping... Surely they tried to extend his contract but I guess he must have wanted to move on... As you could expect!

I disagree, Liverpool are obsessed with beating Man Utd at all costs and that means they must win the Premiership.

Ings is a decent player, no doubt about that, but he's never going to fire Liverpool to the title, if he was that good he'd be going to Chelsea or a real contender, not also-rans like Liverpool.

If Ings is going as a squad player with an opportunity to prove himself I don't think it's a bad punt by Liverpool. He won't be on massive money and even if he struggles you'd think they'll get their tribunal money back from someone as he's still young. If it works out they've got a bargain. If he's going to replace some first teamer then it's probably another poor downgrade though by them and seeing as I can't stand them I hope it is.

Either way it's good entertainment seeing him jump ship although I think Dyche is smart enough to get a good replacement in. If he's allowed to by the parachute pinchers that is :)

He made it clear he wasn't signing a new contract - to be fair he was 100% up front about it, indeed I believe he ended up one of the lower earners last season as his existing contract didn't have as much by way of bonuses etc.

As for how good is he - well if he's given game time we will see. Obviously I've seen a lot of him and my gut says he can go a long way and has the attitude to make it as a player in the top 6 teams. His trouble may well be how much he gets to play and how patient the fans are willing to be because I don't think he's the finished article yet.

No idea what, if anything, is available to spend - let alone who will be in the managers office to spend it.

It will be interesting to see how much game time he gets there. If they shift Balotelli I reckon the scousers will want a 'big name' to replace him, if he stays, they'll have to justify the fee they spent.

Then there's Sturridge (when he's not crocked), and Lambert and Borini you'd imagine will continue to largely be irrelevant......

Seems you can't knock the lad on that score then although money does talk. It keeps our Jordan happy !

From what I've seen he's looked quite comfortable in the Prem and agree he's got talent and he's sharp. No surprise to see him stay in the Prem but was surprised that lot came in for him. I think he'll be operating under a new manager there well before Christmas which may prove a problem. Not sure who actually signs players for LFC these days though to be fair.

I'll be honest, before Longsiders drags up a link to the Dwight Yorke article from years back, I've heard bad things on the terraces at Ewood- but not in YEARS!

Liverpool also have Origi to come back from his loan, he's supposedly pretty handy.
