“It is difficult working under an embargo but we’ve got to be careful that it’s not said too often and that it becomes an excuse."

Well, the manager's only used it in every pre/post-match interview so far this season Derek, so I'm sure it's still got plenty of shelf-life.

“But we had a pretty good idea that Josh King was going to go because he didn’t show a lot of interest in extending his contract.

I can't imagine why.

“Over the last two and a half years we’ve got wages down and I’m sure that will be reflected when this year’s accounts are announced.

“They will still be big losses but they won’t be on a par with what they have been.

Yayyy.

According to that article a sale of £5m would see us out of the embargo. Will Hanley be sacrificed as opposed to Rhodes? Could Bowyer bear to see that happen?

We, no, well, er maybe. See, Derek isn't Shaw (ha, see what I did there). He doesn't know. The inquisitive nature of a 11 year old would have asked the next question, but apparently that was beyond the LT reporter.

I.e. "Are you going to find out Derek? Surely that really is quite important? - and if not, why not?"

It's good that Derek had time to comment on our transfer dealings though. I mean, we all care so much about his opinion on such matters and would prefer he spent his time doing interviews about them rather than, I don't know, MD related activities.

What a complete tool this man is. Its beyond comprehension how the Raos trust him to hold a position of responsibilty in a limited company. I think the LT 'article' is evidence enough that he should just keep quiet on things he seems to know nothing about (but evidently should) and consider how best to leave. Never clearer that a "night of the long knives" is needed.

I thought the quote about Gary getting pretty much anyone he wants was suggesting that he won't get much patience in terms of them bedding in.

I've only read it once mind as I can't stand that guy just on the Henning berg principle. He cost this club a fortune and never even paid the price.

He's a rogue, Jbizzle. He does what he wants, when he wants. Nobody tells him what to do, not even his bosses. You know you're bullet proof when your employers lambast you in court and you remain in employment!

Thing is DE- the berg @#/? up is published, just how many more contract mishaps has he caused that where unpublished?

I could probably stick his inept record if he wasn't a former PNE chairman.

Until something is done to get fans back on board with a chairperson who has the respect and experience needed, this ship will remain rudderless.

Straight back to the cyclical argument about replacing the "captain" of the ship, seems pointless with this bollock upstairs.

It would be very, very difficult to put forward a case for Shaw having done a good job - even if you excluded the Berg incident. The fact that the owners are willing to continue to employ such a person in the MD position shows exactly what they think of the club and how important it is to them.

It comes back to what Gav's been saying for a while now, until you stab the heart of the beast - in this case Venky's - cutting off one head will just lead to another being spawned. My gut feeling is that they have completely lost interest in the club and are essentially willing to let it run on autopilot, hoping that one day the gods they believe in will conjure up a miracle and get us promoted.

Then maybe they'll rehire Steve Kean. Who knows with this lot.

I disagree with many though who say that Venkys MUST leave before we can move forward. If they did nothing but paid the deficits and charged 0% interest, I could live with them.

This is only if they can get an actual structure that will work.

It's a mile better than the one that went down and better than the initial season in this league sans shebby, but with the farcical rogue still involved - we just won't go anywhere.

I'd love to be proven wrong mind.

That's the second time he's spoke to the press since the season began so his tongue is finally loosening at least. Done well to hide his disappointment that Rhodes is still here, must be out of pocket on that one Deggsy. Maybe Wheelock is trying to get him to speak a bit more so fair play if he is, not that he'll ever come out with anything we don't already know.

Absolutely Bob.

"We're probably a "biggish sale" away from coming out of embargo." Good grief. Are we or aren't we? Specific amounts?

Also good to see he started the interview by using FFP as an excuse, then said it was important that it wasn't mentioned too often and used as such!

Apart from that though, I agree with jbizzle, the inference seemed to be that GB had had all the backing they could possibly manage in the circumstances, so the underlying message being the buck now stops with the manager? We can only hope they are thinking that normally.

Personally I liked this quote "we're heading in the right direction".

With no sense of irony. Personally I think he was just poking me in the eye. After all, serial miserabalists on BRFCC missed it, so it must have been aimed at me.

Of course not, silly bob.

Then he does it again! Next paragraph down! "We're heading in the right direction". Now he's really taking the mickey.

Let's all protest at venkys, let's all moan at bowyer. Meanwhile - Not Right Shaw will continue to not give a flyer about our club.

It's really not hard to work out boys and girls. He's PNE. He messed them up - and he's a fan! He's "a friend of Preston North End"!! Google it! I'm a friend of BRFC, I'd like Preston and burnley relegated.

Someone pay me big bucks and I'll do it.

All I need is a diversion or two, maybe crap owners, maybe a voiceless manager. It's easy! Maybe a Comms Manager who doesn't speak!

Oh my!

No one would fall for this bull surely....

Anyway, bowyer, venkys etc....

Bob had once again spoken for us all. Great post Bob. :)

I'm just trying to work out the big improbable plot holes in Interstellar, which I have just watched. One twist of every law of physics fits the clubs scenario perfectly. If only we could fall into a black hole, end up in the trusts library and tell the trust not to sell. Maybe one day we will evole enough to create a worm hole to send Shaw and Venkys through. Yes I have had a beer too.

People like Shaw will continue to infest Rovers while Venky are still here. They simply refuse to speak to or employ anyone with the clubs interest at heart.

We need to make the Rovers enterprise cost Venkys as much as possible.

This is the only revenge as we can hardly go and hang around a house in Clitheroe like the Blackpool fans did with Oyston.

Give em absolutely nothing I say. I just want them to go away NO MATTER WHAT THE COST.

More than happy to start afresh from the bottom.

Its drastic action but I'm starting to think the only thing they'll understand is empty stands. On the one hand all I want to do is support the team and not think of knobs like Shaw/raos but on the other hand turning up to ewood and paying is indirectly supporting the venkys. My mate who no longer goes keeps telling me if I think venkys are so bad then people of principle walk way.

I have flatly rejected this as I hate them but have still gone in the name of support but maybe the only action left is to boycott. Hate the venkys, hate Shaw, managers terrible, players are poor-average at best and playing a terrible brand of football. People who have so far boycotted have missing nothing.

I don't regard my non attendance as boycotting, supporting the club, not supporting the club, or anything to do with making any kind of stand. I just couldn't stand the disappointment of turning up to home matches knowing that their definition of giving it a right good go and mine in no way corresponded. Every club loses matches. Every club sometimes plays rubbish. But most teams turn up most weeks with a plan and a desire

to win and an idea how to do it. We stopped doing that a long time ago.

The Blackpool protest is the NAPM ( not a penny more ) Its obviously has its pros and cons. Some don't attend while others do but wont spend at the bars or shop.

Something has to be done and I'd like to see Shaw Out as a starter.

That's a pretty good idea the NAPM protect that the Blackpool fans have on the go. Not too sure how it would be organised, but perhaps to show someone at the club, that the supports are protesting, what about boycotting buying a programme? A letter to the club explaining this is the start and unless they start to communicate properly, it will be stepped up. This way, people who want to attend matches can, but the club know we aren't happy and want to see some action.

There is NOT enough up for it . Happy clapping wins . Like I said before even in the relegation season only a handful got or tried getting on the pitch and in the entire slum dog reign there's only been a ten minute spell with fans shouting venkys out .

I think there is a huge difference between going on to the pitch and boycotting merchandise. It is a statement that the fans can make to the club and stay within the law. Worth a try I would say.
