Ah yes. Your true colours. If a number if Muslims are terrorists, they all are. What about Irish people? Should we also have stopped them coming into the country because of the IRA?

.

I've asked that on many occasions, you won't get an answer.

.....but but but but but they have brown faces, they're not white, and they're Muslim, and they're of Asian origin, and they're not conforming to stereotypes.

Right wing loonies on here blow a fuse.

And now our Prime Minister has decided that migrants are "a swarm". Sure, we want our borders protected from illegal incomers, but these are people running from bad conditions for a better way of life. They're not insects.

Choose your words (or get someone with a brain to choose them for you). You're the guy at the top for crying out loud.

People running away from bad conditions for a better way of life? So what was wrong with the numerous countries in Europe they travelled through to get to Calais? You have a problem with Cameron describing them as insects, I have a problem with the political left describing them as victims. When they fled into Europe some of them were victims, from Europe to Britain they're economic migrants.

And as much as I don't blame them, we simply cannot let economic migrants into this country. 130,000 square kilometres doesn't divide up into hundreds upon hundreds of millions of people. And that isn't being dramatic. For every 1 that gets in, 10 up sticks from Africa/Asia and set off to try.

Superb. Helping others in need. Do you think they checked passports or asked their religious affliation before giving people water?

There needs to be tighter controls on immigration but using language like 'swarm' is frankly disgusting by the PM. Perhaps he could help the war torn countries by supplying them with water and food instead of weapons?

Back to school for you Phil. According to this 'swarm' is perfectly acceptable in both cases.

You and that phrase. You're as bad as Al with his "disgusting", " ridiculous", "pathetic", et . Used so often that there's no yardstick to go off.

Think you need to invest in a new board game. "Keep 'em Out" is so last century.

Some of the views and comments on here are atrocious.

Wrong Jim... I don't care a fig about skin colour as I've said many times. However I have very strong suspicions of muslims simply because we are frequently told that islam comes before nationality, and as we are frequently seeing that can be divisive and frequently proves a threat to any nation who have a significant %age of muslim citizens.

Events over my lifetime prove that I am wise to mistrust. If a dog bites you as a child you become wary of dogs throughout your life even though most possess a friendly disposition. That is the self preservation instinct, a natural reaction and a good thing. Doesn't mean that you spend your life running over every dog in the street or putting poisoned meat down all over the place does it?

As for the rest of you liberal loons stop continually falling back on the vapid and objectionable use of the racist card. imo it carries the stamp of the intellectually derelict and an admission of impending defeat in any debate. The term 'undesirable alien' should be adhered to and applied to all who cannot prove otherwise or who act in manner that is a threat to the peace, harmony and way of life of the citizens of this nation or who have no intention of adhering to the laws of the land. We have enough of our own who do that and require dealing withn without importing more.

You mentioned Irish? Fine, friendly and hard working as a rule but any with republican links along with any tinkers / gypsies who come here and bring their feral ways should be dealt with as undesirable aliens, receive short shrift and be sent packing.

Come on, Phil, it's sentimentality like this which has made the UK such a haven for illegal immigrants. These people aren't seeking asylum, they're seeking money and a cushier life. We need to stop pussyfooting about and take a hard line against them.

Also, check out the Mayor of Calais wanting to sue Britain for £35m for the damage these migrants have done to the town. Um, how about you sue your own damn government for letting them into your country in the first place?

A bit like suing the next door neighbour in the large detached house in its own grounds because the pikey's have camped at the end of the road waiting till next door go on holiday before taking over the garden,

Calais is no oil painting in the 1st place, typical French, 1st order of business, find someone to blame.

Why would anybody take any stranger into their house as a lodger? Migrant or not?

Isn't that what everyone does? And have you not read the articles about what goes on in Darfur and the like? We seem to be assuming that they are all "scum". Back to theno's point about a dog biting him and making him wary, that's all well and good, be wary! But treating the rest with absolute cynicism when they don't deserve it doesn't seem fair to me. Gingers have a reputation for being impatient, bad-tempered, etc. Therefore I'm sure he won't mind when others look at him (and me) with a cautious eye.

Good Samaritan, empathy lots of reasons

You would let someone live in your house that you don't know anything about? I think you're just being silly now!

The migrant crisis needs dealing with, but it's a tasty little side-story for the government when there are plenty of other things going on that they don't want you to think about. You suggest that France let these migrants through (which is complete conjecture without evidence). That's as much of a conspiracy theory as me saying that the UK government told France to let them through so that the country can focus on this fear-mongering!

So they can come as long as it not with you ? So to speak

What are you on about? Even if they migrants come in, are they going to be staying in people's houses? No! And nowhere have I said that they can come in. Stop trolling.

Come on, Phil, it's sentimentality like this which has made the UK such a haven for illegal immigrants.

You are aware that illegal immigrants get deported immediately upon discovery, right? Or are you talking about asylum seekers who are rarely yet legitimately granted residence?

I'm not trolling . It's a genuine question . Why won't the do gooders take them in .?

They are all talk and two faced .

Do you even bother reading, ABBEY? I assume you class me as a "do-gooder" but I wouldn't take ANY stranger in to live with me. I've already given reasons why - I wouldn't know anything about them.

Again, what on Earth has that got to do with these migrants? Do you really believe that if they get in, they have to live in our houses? Christ Almighty, ABBEY!

Actually I did once in France, a guy was doing the Route of Santiago de Compostela, when he got to our town in France he struggled to get a room at a reasonable cost (he was on a tight budget) I initially directed him to a small hotel in the centre that was English owned thinking he might get a better deal than the French ones he had already tried. Later that evening he was walking by our place looking a bit worn down, anyway it ended up we let him stay for the night. He didn't want anything just some water to drink. In the morning we got up and he had already left and had left an envelope on the bed with the full rate that the hotel had wanted. He did not stay there as the owner was very abrupt with him and thought he was a beggar of some kind (he had not heard of the Route of Santiago de Compostela).

About 6 months later we received a letter from the guy, which I still have, he had completed the route and was back home and planning another trek. I will not go into detail about the letter which was very touching about his personal life.

That's a nice story, yoda, which shows you're probably more charitable than I might have been. But it sounds like you knew something (good) about him to trust him to stay. It would be great if everyone was able to trust each other without prejudice. But there we go.

I'm completely not following you now to be honest. You're the one saying (or suggesting) I'm a "do-gooder", not me! And I've already said I wouldn't let any strangers live in my house, migrant or not.

If you're now asking me would I let any of them in? I don't know. Asylum seekers have to be taken on a case by case basis, so how can I answer? What I do know is that most of us, if not all, will never see first-hand the atrocities that they've most likely suffered. Surely some sympathy and a helping hand is warranted? But no, let's "shoot them", the lot of them are "scum" and "pondlife". Disheartening that any Brits can think like that, but there we are.
