Daily Express is my newspaper. Much fairer than the Mail. I suggest you give up your subscription to the Mirror or whatever red top Communist paper you read.

Wanting to live in a fairer society does not make you a communist.

Yes they keep telling us that don't they, maybe down South, but not up North.

If all the claims the Tories made were actually being felt throughout the country they'd be re-elected with a landslide, but they'll get nowhere near and that's the real tester.

Come off it GAV. The North is far better off now that when Labour were in power and there are a lot more jobs available. The problem is that the dollopers don't want to work when they are given handouts for their fags and booze whilst their children live on a bag of crisps, and don't deny it. Just walk around Accy centre particularly in front of that caravan stall selling fast food in front of the market hall.

Wanting to live in a fairer society does not make you a communist.

The society you, Jim and GAV are proposing does.

Really? Apart from wanting to live in a fairer society where have I said anything else?

You clearly have an impression of groups of people and like generalising. You fit in nicely with the UKIP ideology.

The North has been raped and pillaged by the Tories in the last 5yrs, and those jobs you refer to are on cr@p wages with zero hours contracts, good old Tories.

To address the rest of your post, bunkum, not everyones a scrounger.

People illegally claiming benefits costs the taxpayer 2.5 billion. Big corporations not paying tax TEN times that figure. Don't see you bleating about them.

Perhaps you should. It would bring you up to date with what goes on in the world instead of the idealistic society in your head. You must be a really nice guy to know GAV but you are in the land of fairy stories.

Agreed!

People illegally claiming benefits costs the taxpayer 2.5 billion. Big corporations not paying tax TEN times that figure. Don't see you bleating about them.

Difference is that they are not doing anything illegal but simply trying to keep what they have earned, unlike the benefit cheats who have earned sod all.

Come on Al your not telling me you believe everything you read in the Express are you? The font of all knowledge?

I get out, mix with people, embrace different cultures, travel the world, that's where my experiences come from.

I used to share many of the views you currently hold, it took me a while to realise I was wrong on most issues, the facts simply don't lie.

No disrespect intended to either of you, but I'm hoping views held by yourself, Gordon and Yoda are a generational thing and the youngsters coming up are wiser and more in tune with what really goes on in society.

HMRC's website says the gap between tax owed and tax paid increased to £39 billion in 2013. Meanwhile, benefits fraud cost the country £1.5 billion.

In other words, the deficit would be wiped out very quickly if the Tories targeted the real villains instead of those at the lower end of society

I don't normally respond to your posts but I had to in this case - as usual you're talking bigoted nonsense.

You asked Paul I believe?

To answer the question - I don't think so, but we had a bloody good time during Blairs tenure.

'We' being those in the public sector I take it? Isn't it time you got off the nipple gav?

btw haven't events since and the 75 million pound fortune that he has amassed since leaving office not suggested that Blair just used his position to feather his own nest? Why not write to Blair now Gav and see if he'll fill up your food bank's larder? Pretty sure he could do all this on his own and never even miss it. Go on... he's a good socialist I'm sure.

Think Ed has scored an own goal with this,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32441968

Bottom of that article...

"SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon said her party would prop up a minority Labour government even if the Conservatives had a 40-seat lead"

Great! The nation is going to be run by the SNP simply to further it's own ends! Majority rule is the first principle of Democracy yet the UK could easily become a democracy lead by a minority to further it's own political ambitions.

I bet both Cameron and Miliband are both privately wishing that the scots had voted YES. Now that their oil revenue is on it's arse and whisky sales have plummeted also Scotland would be a total basket case, yet here they are manipulating the situation to give themselves full control. It is a dangerous situation, especially when one of the main thrusts of the SNP is to do away with the nations principle defence system.

Never mind your soup kitchens gav this is a very serious issue!

Neither was Miliband scraping the electorial barrel, accusing Cameron of indirectly creating the situation in the Med.

Conveniently forgetting it was his lot that took this country into an illegal war in Iraq.

Socialists ? Hilarious. Red Ed lives in a £3m mansion (which will be successfully downgraded to avoid his mansion tax) and Blair ? How much is he worth ?

It's morally wrong and caused by...you guessed it the rich and powerful. So the people who help the government create the loopholes are then hired by the companies to help them avoid tax! But yeah let's blame the poor. Slashing the funding for disabled people in this country, the most vulnerable is unacceptable. Let me guess they should sponge off the system?

Neither is leaving a note that says there is no money left,

usual Labour practice though

You do know that was a joke?

This is something that is done by EVERY government when passing the baton over to the next government. An in house joke. Tories making a deal out of it is a joke.

UKIP is a party full of racists, bigots and homophobes. They are a bunch of sharlatans who are intent on scaremongering people into submission. They clearly have an audience. Thankfully it is a small one.

I will ask you the question that only one poster has attempted to answer

Has Labour ever left government with the economy in a better state than when they entered government?

Spurious row manufactured by Downing Street to obscure the fact the refugee crisis and tragic scenes this week in the Mediterranean are in part a direct result of the failure of post-conflict planning for Libya.

You're also conveniently forgetting that if it wasn't for Ed Miliband we would now be compounding the mistakes of Libya by being involved in Syria - another war-torn country Cameron was keen to get involved in.

Ed Miliband has lives for many years in an area where house prices have become very expensive. That's his good luck I suppose. If you think £3m houses are wrong blame governments that have promoted economic activity in London and the south east at the expense of the north.

Tony Blair won 3 successive elections and kept the Tories out of Downing St for 13 wonderful years. He can do what he likes as far as I'm concerned.

Seems a lot must have you on ignore yoda. Either that or they don't have an alternative answer to the correct one 'NO'.

Trith is that Labour govts have consistently spent more than they earn with the obvious result of that is to burden the next generation / our kids with our debt. Not a nice legacy given that it is not through war or economic necessity but simply sacrificed on the alter of base political ambition and the politics of envy.

Everything about Tony Blair in hindsight confirms that if you scratch beneath the surface he was more a Tory than the Tories ever knew how to be.

Anyway give us all a laugh and answer yoda's question.

 Including acquiring £75 million in the process

Funny how Ed agreed to action in Libya without an exit strategy

Seems inevitable that the weaker Miliband will leap into bed with the SNP (despite his protestations) then we'll need another Conservative government to clean up the mess again.

Sturgeon will push for independence again and I hope they bloody get it.
