Blimey I can't believe a debate about the election is still rumbling on. That's a long list there but living in clitheroe now I tend to the Tory propaganda through letter box now rather than the labour propaganda I used to when I lived in bburn. So to play devils advocate this is what the recent one had to say (think its Ribble valley centric in places):

"-last labour govt sold gold reserves at rock bottom prices

-labour increased unemployment by 25 per day

-in 2010 labour left behind largest peacetime deficit

-labour voted against the benefits cap

-labour failed to bring English votes for English legislation.

-labour want to return our economy to more borrowing, more debt and more taxes.

Since torys regained power

-fastest growing economy in g7

-inflation at 0%

-personal allowance increased to £10,600

-deficit down by half since 2010

-1.9 million new jobs since 2010

-fuel duty escalator been scrapped saving £10 per tank

-health/welfare tourism by foreigners been clamped down on

-introduced help to buy scheme allowing first time buyers to get on property ladder.

-Ribble valley unemployment 1%"

I don't really understand what it all means but whoever is in power from Tory to labour to monster raving looney party. They are almost to a man self serving greedy chancers looking to further their own career and to score points off their political rivals not to improve the country and the people in it.

So now we find ourselves embroiled in a Labour leadership campaign thats started off with most of the candidates slagging each other off in public, which does nothing in the long run other than give the Tories fuel for the fire when the debate is settled.

"Who described the folks backing Liz Kendall as the ‘Taliban New Labour’? The Telegraph’ story this morning attributed the vituperative comments to a ‘sources close to Burnham and Cooper,’ but both campaigns are distancing themselves from the remarks.

A source on Team Burnham tells Coffee House that the comments came from Yvette’s Team and not from anyone on the Burnham campaign. But Team Cooper on the other hand is quick to say that the comments did not come from them either. A source on Cooper’s campaign says:

‘I don’t think it helps to get into finger pointing. It absolutely wasn’t us. It’s not language we endorse or have even heard. It’s not a very useful contribution to the debate about the future of the party and the country.’"

If ever a party had lost sight of people they're representing or the job they're supposed to be doing its these bloody idiots. They’ll do absolutely anything to gain power, sod the electorate.

EMBARRASSING AND PATHETIC :angry2:

Burnham summed it up when he said the party comes 1st

Jim'll be apoplectic with rage. Firstly that you are likening him to someone who cannot spell and is poor grammatically. The content of old Jim's posts is questionable to say the least but never his grammar. Secondly by Gav's penultimate sentence! It appears to me that Labour are losing support as fast as BRFC!

Aaahhhh the old spelling and grammar chestnut

Not criticising the standard of education which you received per sae TJ. Or maybe didn't receive. Simply pointing out that jim's posts are flawless and that he places great store in grammar, composition and punctuation.

So the Tories have pulled the planned Northern rail improvements due to costs spiralling out of control and general mismanagement, but have decided not to pull similar upgrades in the South.

Northern Powerhouse my arse.
