Mike Graham Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 We play Leeds away this weekend. This is normally a game that gets the juices going. However it is a completely non descript match in terms of whether it matters or not. I actually think it is a great opportunity for our "manager" to try out some of our decent up and coming youngsters and I hope he does so, and save some of our stars (sorry but I was struggling for the right word) for the FA Cup next week. I will be in Leeds and my Yarkshire brother-in-law is treating me to a ticket in the Leeds end (yuk). 300 Rovers fans and a defeat followed by a GB post-coital comment of "we were close to ejaculation.....we will work on our foreplay and hopefully come next season".

chaddyrovers Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I wouldn't start Gestede or King for this game. Both would be on the bench for me. I would play O'Sullivan and Lenihan for this game. I would play 4-2-3-1 formation for this game. My team for this game would be:- Steele; Henley, Baptiste, Kilgallon, Olsson; Spearing, Lenihan; O'Sullivan, Marshall, Taylor; Rhodes. Subs:- Eastwood, Spurr, Evans, King, Cairney, Mahoney, Gestede. Going for 2-1 win with Rhodes and O'Sullivan to score. Around 500 fans there. And I will be one of those fans there aswell
Mike Graham Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Good to see you are going Chaddy. I expect I will be rather quiet in my seat surrouded by 1000's of baying sheep.
onlyonejackwalker Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 This used to be one of my favourite fixtures. Normally a decent atmopshere and good away following. I would play my very best team available and try and win the game for our travelling fans who have been absolutely brilliant this season, often with very little reward. Further capitulations are simply not acceptable even if the season is ebbing away.
Andyblue2 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 should Gaz not be resting his troops now for the replay?....our league season has finished anyway.
onlyonejackwalker Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 should Gaz not be resting his troops now for the replay?....our league season has finished anyway. I wouldn't. I'd make it clear they were all playing for places and tell them to go and show me how much they wanted to be in that team and any future teams I selected. I would also be looking for a professional performance and clean sheet and would make that clear to one and all. Our fans will be there supporting and another poor defeat won't help anyone.
Backroom Tom Posted April 1, 2015 Backroom Posted April 1, 2015 Which Taylor are you playing there chaddy? Works hard but worse than Andyblue Taylor or 'spare any change mate' Taylor?
tomphil Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 How many tickets have we sold for this? Just over 500 so far.
AggyBlue Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I was going to decide on Saturday morning whether to go or not, £39 has made up my mind not to. Disgusting for a nothing game.
chaddyrovers Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Which Taylor are you playing there chaddy? Works hard but worse than Andyblue Taylor or 'spare any change mate' Taylor? Chris Taylor
cn174 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I was going to decide on Saturday morning whether to go or not, £39 has made up my mind not to. Disgusting for a nothing game. Was just going to mention this. £34 is bad enough, but £39 is hardly going to attract walk-ons is it - home or away fans!
Threepenny Bit Foot Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Anybody know if tickets available on the day? Coming over to Leeds from Manchester so difficult to organise before.
Ben-2000 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Anybody know if tickets available on the day? Coming over to Leeds from Manchester so difficult to organise before. Apparently so, but they hike the price up. Paid it once, won't set foot in the place again!
cn174 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Anybody know if tickets available on the day? Coming over to Leeds from Manchester so difficult to organise before. Yes, but they'll go up to £39!!
Kie_BRFC Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 It's a joke how much leeds are charging, robbing gits
martonrover Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Was just going to mention this. £34 is bad enough, but £39 is hardly going to attract walk-ons is it - home or away fans! Just read a tweet from a Leeds fan on Twitter. Apparently, it's only that price for us. Think they can get tickets for £19.
MarkBRFC Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Just read a tweet from a Leeds fan on Twitter. Apparently, it's only that price for us. Think they can get tickets for £19. In other areas of the ground, they probabaly can. IIRC we did exactly the same when they came to Ewood, charged them around £36 whilst we could get tickets for £26.
Ray-Von Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Just read a tweet from a Leeds fan on Twitter. Apparently, it's only that price for us. Think they can get tickets for £19. I've got a pair of tickets for me and the lad (7 year old) for £29.00 in the family stand, so not too bad.
