[Archived] Leeds away on Saturday

Recommended Posts

We play Leeds away this weekend.

This is normally a game that gets the juices going. However it is a completely non descript match in terms of whether it matters or not. I actually think it is a great opportunity for our "manager" to try out some of our decent up and coming youngsters and I hope he does so, and save some of our stars (sorry but I was struggling for the right word) for the FA Cup next week.

I will be in Leeds and my Yarkshire brother-in-law is treating me to a ticket in the Leeds end (yuk).

300 Rovers fans and a defeat followed by a GB post-coital comment of "we were close to ejaculation.....we will work on our foreplay and hopefully come next season".

I wouldn't start Gestede or King for this game. Both would be on the bench for me.

I would play O'Sullivan and Lenihan for this game.

I would play 4-2-3-1 formation for this game.

My team for this game would be:- Steele; Henley, Baptiste, Kilgallon, Olsson; Spearing, Lenihan; O'Sullivan, Marshall, Taylor; Rhodes.

Subs:- Eastwood, Spurr, Evans, King, Cairney, Mahoney, Gestede.

Going for 2-1 win with Rhodes and O'Sullivan to score. Around 500 fans there. And I will be one of those fans there aswell

This used to be one of my favourite fixtures. Normally a decent atmopshere and good away following.

I would play my very best team available and try and win the game for our travelling fans who have been absolutely brilliant this season, often with very little reward. Further capitulations are simply not acceptable even if the season is ebbing away.

should Gaz not be resting his troops now for the replay?....our league season has finished anyway.

I wouldn't. I'd make it clear they were all playing for places and tell them to go and show me how much they wanted to be in that team and any future teams I selected. I would also be looking for a professional performance and clean sheet and would make that clear to one and all.

Our fans will be there supporting and another poor defeat won't help anyone.

I was going to decide on Saturday morning whether to go or not, £39 has made up my mind not to.

Disgusting for a nothing game.

Was just going to mention this. £34 is bad enough, but £39 is hardly going to attract walk-ons is it - home or away fans!

Just read a tweet from a Leeds fan on Twitter.

Apparently, it's only that price for us. Think they can get tickets for £19.

In other areas of the ground, they probabaly can.

IIRC we did exactly the same when they came to Ewood, charged them around £36 whilst we could get tickets for £26.

I've got a pair of tickets for me and the lad (7 year old) for £29.00 in the family stand, so not too bad.

Depends if GB is saying to them your playing for your replay place

No it's still a dead rubber it will have no bearing on anything

The league is over and the cup team will already be decided bar any injuries
