Fulham and Rotherham?

I cant recall him playing well. It wouldve stuck in my mind.

I can only go off what I've seen of him.

I hope he plays as well as Parson says next season, cos he'll likely be spearheading our attack.

He was a good 'out ball' option in both games. Used his strength and touch to retain possession to link the play.

He may or may not 'spearhead' our attack next season. If he does we could do worse in my opinion. You should wait and see what happens, let the miserablist speculate about doom and despondency.

Where you at the game today? Did you not think that his movement was excellent and the way he set up Rhodes for the second goal was outstanding? Brown has been very good in away games this season and has linked up well with Rhodes. His two performances at Charlton, at Wednesday and today show that he is anything but a donkey. Over 300 games in the Football League suggest he might know a little bit more about centre-forward play than you or I.

You are highlighting things that a normal professional player would do as outstanding, which is patronising him as a professional. We've got to the stage of trying to clutch at straws here as far as his representing our famous club..he shouldn't wear our number 9 . You should be ashamed that you are coming out with this. I've met many people who state that he's one of the worse players to have worn the shirt, so it's not just me.. 300 league games, how many goals?

Just the same as this stage last season although we set out today just like usual. Big difference is we go for the kill now when we get in front and capitalize when someone is down to ten instead of not altering the play and continuing the containing game in the hope of just picking off another goal. These things are completely missing the first half of the season just like last and it's no wonder people get frustrated. Don't always agree with Gallagher on the radio but he got it spot on today, far better team when we let play flow a bit and don't just sit a few yards off our own box and just plod or punt it forward. The style needs to change if we are to go anywhere in this league, I've screamed it till I'm blue in the face because it just doesn't suit our players.

More of your nonsence. Do you actually watch games?

If you've spoken to people who reckon he's our worst ever striker you must talk football with 14 year olds.

Could do a lot better too.

A good out ball and link up to keep the ball is the minimum requirement of a target man of his build and supposed strengths and aerial prowess.

I've seen more embarrassing moments and nothing outstandingly praise worthy.

Will he prove me wrong? If he does I'll praise him.

Until then, I'll remain unconvinced of his abilities and worth to Blackburn Rovers

Clearly someone having a different opinion to yourself seems to be something you really have trouble dealing with. As I said, 300 games suggest that the "professionals" believe he offers something which clearly other "professional" appreciate or are their opinions wrong as well? At the end of the day he had a good game today, as he did at Charlton in the Cup, Charlton in the League, at Wednesday and in a couple of home games when he linked up well with Rhodes.

Parson, i'm getting tired of the "struggling with different opinions" comments. You're better than that.

Were Andy 's points.

Address those.

Brown's game suited Rhodes tho. if we are going to set the team up next season around Rhodes then play Brown in some games. he has linked up with Rhodes very week in some games like Sheff Wednesday and Charlton away games. he isn't going to start every game but I would use him in a lot of away games(around 15 away games) and a sub in a lot of the home games. he is decent player at this level. nothing more.

Chris Brown's record is 338 leagues scoring 58 games. so that's 1 goal in every 6 games(roughly btw)

I think Gestede will leave in the summer for a PL club IMO.

I would look for a PL loan player someone like Callum Robinson from Villa who is on loan at Preston atm or Sam Gallagher from Southampton to replace Gestede. cos I'm expecting no money to spend this summer or very little tbh.

Will selling Gestede and letting Robinson, Dunn leave be enough to get the embargo lift?

Astounding. Celebrating a 1 in 6 striker, a record that impresses you.

As for the young premier lge talents, I fear they are the best we can hope for.

A scary prospect.

If some fans think Brown is one of our 'worst ever strikers' they either have short memories, aren't old enough to remember real lean times or should take up watching another sport.

Yes, he does things that are regarded as givens for a target man, he just happens to do them quite well in the eyes of some observers.

If there is a striker available gratis and on modest wages who could do better maybe those moaning about Brown should contact the club and let them know who this player is.

Perhaps you might address Parson's point about 300 plus games?

Not for me to defend Parson, he is capable of doing that himself, but given that Andy(better than Chris Taylor)Blue often resorts to ranting at his every post maybe he's a little tired of it?

Who celebrating? did I say that?

what I did say that Brown's game does suited Rhodes. Brown is does a similar type of job to what Lee Novak did with Rhodes at Huddersfield

Parson doesn't need to use deflections.

I'm trying to think of worse centre forwards.

Duncan Shearer, Steve Livingstone, Kevin Davies Benjani, Modeste spring to mind.

But they've all scored more or had better career acheviements than Brown.

Your assertion that some of the players you mentioned have had 'better careers' is very subjective and would only turn this discussion into another circular argument.

You said :Compliments Rhodes game, you'd play him in 15 away games, decent player at this level, then I in 6 striker.

As far as I'm concerned and my club he's a ZERO in more than a dozen games and doesn't look like scoring. Link up play is nice, but that comes after the goal threat. How long do we give him Parson?

You don't think the others have achieved more?

They've all either scored more or played at a higher level / higher calibre leagues.

Be interested if you could name some forwards brown is better than.

Brown has a decent career reflective of a decent player. As I said, if you're aware of better on the same terms, get in touch with the club.

Per Pedersen? (Tony Parks signing, bobbins)

Sean Curry

Lenny Johnrose

To name a few.

You said he's been outstanding in some games and of sufficient ability to spearhead our attack/

Now you say he's decent?

Flimsy response in terms of naming players he's better than.

I'm taking from 1983 onwards.
