DannyKeg Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I managed 9/10, I was probably lucky with a couple of them, but I really thought the Meadow Lane one was the old Town End at Deepdale. Clearly, badgering my mum to buy Charlie Buchan's Football Monthly for me once in a while, paid off !

Clearly, badgering my mum to buy Charlie Buchan's Football Monthly for me once in a while, paid off ! There was a stand like that at Dumpdale but the barrel roofed one was the one that had the car park then Moor Park behind it. Theres a statue of someone jumping in a puddle behind it now. It could be Peppa Pig,but not sure.

knobblybottom Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Oh dear, I got 9 but it was a fluke. I only knew one (Molyneux) for definite, there were a few guesses based on the players, adverts but about 4 were complete guesses.
riverside returns Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 9/10 and got infix wrong as thought it was villa park. Some good memories there of visits over the years.
Mattyblue Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 9/10, chose Tynecastle instead of Celtic Park The small stand running the length of the pitch at Filbert Street stayed in place until Leicester moved, like Luton you had to go through a terraced house to enter.

DannyKeg Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 I remembered the one at Filbert Strret as I was stuck in a corner of it once. F.A. Cup tie - late 60's perhaps, a draw if I remember it (Duggie & Fergie scoring ?) a feeling we lost the replay at Ewood though ?
Mike Graham Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 9/10. Got Filbert Street wrong. Oh, and thanks Danny, I enjoyed that.

Think Banks was in goal for them.
knobblybottom Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 1965. We lost the replay 1-2. I thought that was one of the most exciting games of football I've seen. We were 0-2 down and threw everything at them, with Harrison and Ferguson tearing down the wings. Sadly we only managed to get the one goal back.
Friarsnig Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I was disappointed to get 7/10 considering one of my favourite reference books is Simon Inglis's Football Grounds Of Great Britain. A great book if you're interested in the old football stadiums of this country before the wave of redevelopment took hold.
Audax Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Be sure to take part I as well: http://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2014/dec/22/football-stadiums-then-and-now-interactive-quiz Which I found harder and didn't try on as much.
CAPT KAYOS Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Also got 9 on the first - same as others thought it was Deepdale rather than Meadow Lane Second One got 8 - put Villa Park instead of Ibrox (doh!) and got St Andrews wrong Can't believe Victoria Ground is just wasteland and still send shivers and anger when I see Selhurst Park and that end as an open terrace

Thanks for that Audax, enjoyable 5 minutes and somehow managed 10/10. Let's hope Rpvers perform as well tonight.
