Jock Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Kudos to the Pillock planners who had the brainstorming idea of building a 100 feet concrete wall literally outside Blackburn train station. Obliterate the view of the Cathedral and its adjoining one time open space boulevard. All in the name of progress eh? FFS. Did the Station clock ever get returned ? Or was it another fight the council didn't have the stomach for?

Obliterate the view of the Cathedral and its adjoining one time open space boulevard. All in the name of progress eh? FFS. you know ive just got in and on my way home I drove through the centre for the first time in months and was surprised to see how quickly those buildings have gone up and like you I couldn't believe they have been plonked right where they have completely obliterating the view of the train station and the cathedral(2 of the only real original and still functioning landmarks we have left in the town) and the new buildings themselves are plain ugly and look more like prisons than whatever they are supposed to be. I'm normally in favour of progress, but with the right planning and design they could have incorporated the buildings without destroying the last bit of scenery and character in the town.

As I recall you were perfectly happy to see the back of the lovely Royal Infirmary. As for the cathedral, ruined for me when some moron agreed to stick a huge green cow pat on the front.

Did the hospital not have character? You slated anyone and everyone who didn't want modern ? The centre is modern and surprise surprise Mr awkward doesn't like it it . I've never known anyone like you for this
T J Hooker Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 (same postersabove trying to turn a perfectly fine cordial discussion into another petty go at poor TJ ) The infirmary was a redundant building that was well past its sell by date(in every aspect) so it's been cleared and its becoming a nice little area now and will be even nicer once it's complete I imagine(thats the kind of progress I can get on board with) what they've done in the boulevard is almost the opposite, just awful/seemingly non-excitant planning.

That Infirmary should have been revamped instead of wasting millions on Ewood, re routing traffic for no reason whatsoever.
ABBEY Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Noones trying to turn anything . You are drama queen number one .
T J Hooker Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 your opinions there are totally valid scouser in regards to the seemingly unnecessary road works going on at ewood(and dozens of other places around town), abbeys comments are just the usual moronic dribble though.
T J Hooker Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 have a good evening princess, don't stay up to late studying the quantum field theory.
Backroom Mike E Posted June 6, 2015 Author Backroom Posted June 6, 2015 That coned off bus lane at the bottom of Craven's Brow has its traffic lights turned on. Are the council just taking the @#/? with money everywhere then?
yoda Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 WTF does "nice" mean in the context of planning and how buildings look
ultrablue Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 You know how an ugly building looks? Well a nice building doesnt look like that.
yoda Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Stop trying to be clever and troll off. swivel numpty. You know how an ugly building looks? Well a nice building doesnt look like that. Yeah right, When I was at school, and maybe you two missed it or they don't do it now, but to describe something as nice was one of the biggest taboo's in English language lessons. Lack of vocabulary Mr Wilde and co would say
T J Hooker Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I take you did miss that lesson I never touched her, but she was nice.
yoda Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 sorry, what do you do for a living again genius? TJ trying to be elitist, you couldn't make it up
