adsfortheblues Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Into the play off final on Saturday which is being played at the anchor ground. Already won the league cup this seaosn, so they are having a great season. Get yourselves down after the rovers game. 400 on at the anchor for tonight's game!

Rover_Shaun Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 great gate for that level. Brig got 550 for their play off semi win tonight too
adsfortheblues Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Another good crowd and another local team on the up mate.
the original david brent Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Yeah hopefully a good number of rovers fans will turn out given it's a 3pm kick off on the anchor. There are a few of us going straight after rovers. If we got 400 last night it could be double that on Saturday
rigger Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Can you imagine the effect if Dunny turned up at the anchor, after our game.( As a supporter).
Blackburn Ender Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 That's OK, they have a decent bar at the Anchor Ground!
adsfortheblues Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Think Id rather just go pub after the Rovers game There's a nice bar at the anchor, you can stand on the balcony watching the game!
pk1875 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 There's a nice bar at the anchor, you can stand on the balcony watching the game! Yeah it's a nice little ground / set up, but I can't imagine wanting to go and watch the match.
adsfortheblues Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Yeah it's a nice little ground / set up, but I can't imagine wanting to go and watch the match. But PK there's a drummer and everything, you will LOVE IT! Haha
bluebruce Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Yeah it's a nice little ground / set up, but I can't imagine wanting to go and watch the match. If so disinterested, why pop into this thread and post twice on it? Delighted for Darwen. I still harbour ambitions of buying them and getting them into the professional leagues when I get rich!
AggyBlue Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Over 2000 on Chorley tonight for their 0 - 0 with Boston in the semi final first leg play off match. Sadly Boston looked the better team and I don't think Chorley will make the final. Spotted a flag there with 'Blackburn Pilgrims' on.

Rover_Shaun Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Brig's one off play-off final is now at Darlington (who beat Spennymoor). Can they join Salford City in the Premier League?
Husky Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I wonder how long it will be before the usual suspects are using Darwen as Rover's benchmark of success.
bluebruce Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 FFP has put paid to that dream, Bruce! Not sure it applies that far down the leagues! Not sure it will still be in action by the time I can afford it anyway.
scotchrover Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I went to game today after being down at Ewood. It was a very entertaining game, with Darwen winning 5-3, in front of a crowd just short of 900. Well played to Blackburn for advertising the game today. It's a shame they can't stagger the football more often because many other non-league sides would benefit across the country.
only2garners Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 There's presumably nothing stopping Darwen playing their home games at 12.15 when Rovers are at home.

Good luck to Darwen, is that their best gate of the season? Chorley won at Boston 5-4 on pens after a brilliant over head kick equaliser from Chorley (320 fans at Boston); now two legs v Guisley. Good luck Chorley and Darwen.

Just one game for Chorley, at Victory Park next Saturday. Winner in in the Conference.
scotchrover Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 There's presumably nothing stopping Darwen playing their home games at 12.15 when Rovers are at home. I agree. The non-league football authorise need to have a think and adapt. Good luck to Darwen, is that their best gate of the season? Chorley won at Boston 5-4 on pens after a brilliant over head kick equaliser from Chorley (320 fans at Boston); now two legs v Guisley. Good luck Chorley and Darwen. I believe it was. It might even be the best in the whole league. That total for the 10th tier is pretty astonishing. Indeed, hopefully we'll see them do a Fleetwood!
the original david brent Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Fantastic result for Darwen. 850 was the attendance, may have been even more but for the appalling weather. Cracking atmosphere. To be fair Hanley brought 100 plus away fans. For those on this website who are out of town, there is a big Rovers connection with AFC Darwen. The majority who watch Darwen are Darwen based rovers fans like myself. Kevin Gallagher is the director of football. Wayne Wild of the Rovers trust is chairman. A lot of the team are rovers fans. Onwards and upwards.
Mike Graham Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Just one game for Chorley, at Victory Park next Saturday. Winner in in the Conference.I stand corrected. Unfortunately I can't make Chorley on Saturday.....gutted.I wonder if this time next year they will be pushing for the football league, I hope so. It will cause problems for quite a few on this site. ST for Ewood or Chorley?
