Good luck to him I say. He wont get as much game time as he thinks and in any case I don't really see him making big strides in that team as they have a brand of playing football that wont suit his style.

Back in the Championship next season !

Sadly, just another example of Bowyer not utilising his resources properly and not getting the most from his squad. Always tried to fit too many square pegs in round holes.

King as we know has blistering pace. How many times did he get played in his favoured position ? Stoke who finished ninth in the PL certainly couldn't handle him.

Howe is a very shrewd and proven manager and clearly sees something that the hapless Bowyer didn't.

That's nonsense.

King has played about 4 good games in a Rovers shirt. He has pace but cannot finish and certainly doesn't know when to pass the ball. He isn't exactly a young player breaking through anymore either.

I wish him well but let's not rewrite history.

Can you please tell me how many times King started in his favoured position and how many of those were consecutive games. Think you might only need one hand !

The lad never got a real opportunity. Should have been told, right, you are in for the next 6 games as central striker, show us what you can do.

I wish him well and he may well turn out to be a top player but he never merited a regular starting place at Rovers and usually flattered to deceive. His pace was his prime asset but except on a few occasions such as the Stoke cup tie he lacked the nous and the touch and finesse to make the most of it. I might be wrong but I think Bournemouth need better signings than Josh King if they are going to survive next season.

Yeah because money has nothing to do with choosing a PL club over an embargoed Championship club....

You may be right, but he had to convince GB to drop one of Rhodes and Gestede. Which one would you have dropped for King?

Absolutely.

He was given chance after chance to impress, spent more time injured than most and simply wasn't good enough.

Fergie didn't rate him either, but let's not stop the truth getting in the way of a good Bowyer bashing.

Be interesting to see how he gets on at Bournemouth, the same was said about Rochina by the same posters and he went on to be abolute bobbins.

What awful management that would have been.

You cant polish a turd but you can have a good KEAN once in a while.

King may have pace and he may have to odd good game. I don't see Howe getting any better from him, a players attitude is what counts. Imagine in King had produced in say 30% of the games he played for us he would be worth a good few million instead he is a freebie who will command a fee of around £1.2m at best to Rovers.

Good luck to him, as frustrating as he is he's one of very few players we have with premier league qualities.

Two of the others may leave soon!

Rhodes if we are facing a top team that will push us up to the half way line and try to play in our half. King offers a very dangerous 'out' option. Rhodes offers nothing whatsoever.

King if we are playing a poor team, expect territorial advantage and to create lots of chances.

In the hole Gestede and Brown can alternate depending again on the opposition.

Easy peasy. How difficult is management? Unfortunately we will no longer have these options available next season.

btw I'll be really interested to see how King does next year. Hughes has certainly got the best out of M Diouff and I don't rate him anywhere near as good as King.

Agreed, especially when we had nothing to play for any longer. Very strange and I think he may prove some people wrong next year in the prem.

Like how people on here slag him off, yes he had injuries and flaws but the lad still had plenty of time to develop as he's only 23 and a full international. On occasion has shown what he can do, he was given a fair chance to impress at the end of last season and was unplayable... Next season starts and he's on the bench.

So quite right, lets not stop the truth getting in the way of bashing Bowyer because in this instance he's had an absolute shocker.

Bowyer out.

Again your rationale like Mercers may seem sound on paper. However King is made of glass and his body cannot cope with playing in the championship. Maybe coming off the bench at Bournemouth may be better for him.

We don't have an issue with scoring goals it's the other end where we have problems. A tough tackling midfielder and an equally good defender and we could then potentially aim for promotion (if Rhodes and Gestede stay)

Absolute bunkum Neal, we can't keep paying a sprinter with little football nouse the wages he's getting in the hope he'll turn into a footballer.

Didn't you say the same about Rochina?

The guys been here over 2yrs, how many good games has he had? And don't tell me he never got a chance because he's played about 100 games for the club I would have thought.
