Stefan Hedgehog Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 My nephew holds several world records in endurance running whitch he does for servicemen charities. You may remenber he was on roversplayer giving a talk to the squad 2 seasons ago.GB urged all the players to sponsor him on his next world record.Paper money was GB word not coins.well our Dave was promised 4 figures by our heros net payed zero. This is not about venkys jerome or kean. This about guys who earn a fortune who give nothing.

Stefan Hedgehog Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Im not sure glenn im just back from a 4yr trip.his brother told me the tale again today i did contact GB seretary after 6 months had gone by but to no avail.
T J Hooker Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 "4yr trip" that's some holiday!(or the mushys are good round your end) footballers are 99% keaners, stuff their money, your nephew should be proud of his achievements regardless.
chimbondapie Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 If someone promised to pay they should pay However what people earn is utterly irrelevant
AllRoverAsia Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Im not sure glenn im just back from a 4yr trip.his brother told me the tale again today i did contact GB seretary after 6 months had gone by but to no avail. You really should have got all the facts together before going public such as which players and how much did each one promise and did the individual players sign a sponsorship form. I wonder if GB sponsored? It's hard to think that all those who promised have reneged when asked to pay up, surely there must be the odd decent one. Good luck to your Nephew!
Stefan Hedgehog Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 The facts are they let him down.most of his runs you pledge on the net.the chat he gave the team is still on roversplayer but I cant link it help,

If they pledged they are honour bound to pay - the problem being that there is little honour among thieves or it seems footballers. He should get this story to the LT - its going to come to GB and the players attention I'm sure.

Gav Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I don't see the point of putting this on a public forum, what are you trying to achieve Stefan? You have absolutely no idea if the players give to charity or not. I'm not sticking up for them in any way as I don't know the facts, but sponsorship and giving is up to the individual and nobody, regardless of the size of the pay packet, should have to give. Reading between the lines its probably more about forgetting to go online and pledge money, rather than not bothering on purpose. I'm on your Nephew's side. Gav Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I was on my 4th Saturday afternoon Leo beer Good lad, that explains it In that case gav my old chum why did they invite him to brockhall to give 4he squad a pep talk. Well Stefan my old chum I have no idea, which is why you shoudn't post it on a public forum, just a thought.
scotchrover Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Firstly, well done to your brother on his work. However, I don't think they're ignoring him, I just think they've not managed to be reached yet (communication wise). It's the middle of summer, meaning they'll be all over the world. G.B. is probably the only one down at Brockhall right now. The current squad, although wind us all up with the dross they sometimes serve up, don't strike me as those that would purposely p*** off the fans. Bar Leon Best, Bowyer has thankfully moved those players on. Has he actually contacted them recently by the way? 2 years is a long time.
