Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Cairney's a funny player. He never really did it here although he obviously had all the ability. Some games he looked a world beater, other games you wouldn't know he was playing. I had hopes for him in centre midfield but games seemed to pass him by there. Of course you've got to take account of the fact we've only just appointed what I consider a proper manager. Who knows what he might have achieved under a Hughes or Souness type manager.

JHRover Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Very strange situation now at Reading and Fulham. Reports suggest that Clarke spoke to Fulham about the job and was keen on it, but that talks broke down over his salary/compensation. Now it appears the move is off and he is back at Reading preparing them for tomorrow's game against Bolton. Clarke has been open in his press conference today admitting that he wanted to speak to Fulham and see what they could offer, but after speaking to them decided that Reading were a better option. However, because he was prepared to discuss a move away a lot of Reading supporters are in uproar about his lack of loyalty. I don't really see how there can be a way back for him at Reading. No amount of smooth talking will make the supporters forget that he was interested in moving to a Championship rival. Its a bizarre situation because Reading know he was interested in the Fulham job, yet if they sack him he will be able to walk into Fulham and Reading will be heavily out of pocket.
RoverNev Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I wonder if Fulham will consider turning to their former assistant manager Steve Kean as they run out of options. I have absolutely nothing against Fulham but imagine his return to Ewood!!
davulsukur Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I wonder if Fulham will consider turning to their former assistant manager Steve Kean as they run out of options. If they start getting turned down by the likes of Orville the duck, then maybe Kean would be in with a shout.
JHRover Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Steve Kean with Danny Murphy as his assistant. Whilst I wouldn't wish that on anyone, it would be interesting to experience the reception they got at Ewood.
tomphil Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Steve Kean with Danny Murphy as his assistant. Whilst I wouldn't wish that on anyone, it would be interesting to experience the reception they got at Ewood. ..with Best up front and Orr at right back. Would probably need to be played behind closed doors !
Ewooduknow Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 QPR doing well at mboro at the moment 0-0 with 10 to go but they've had a lot of shots on target for an away side tonight. Reckon Warnock will stay in charge there and they'll be a challenger for the play offs.

Ewooduknow Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Boro won. Stats deceiving apparently, QPR were shyte.
AllRoverAsia Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I think Steve Clarke's days at Reading are numbered. The foreign Owners will not be happy and will be feeling offended. He better put a good run of results together very very soon. A loss today at home to Bolton could well see him gone.
AllRoverAsia Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 You mean tommorow ;-) Yes indeed. He is not flavour of the month with Reading's owners and it would be a convenient excuse. Clarke's in for a culture shock imo.
Backroom DE. Posted November 21, 2015 Backroom Posted November 21, 2015 Bolton 2 down already. Lennon can't have long left.
Stuart Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Lennon represents their last bit of credibility. A shame to see them in the shape they are. Looking like they need a miracle. There but for the grace of God...
Backroom DE. Posted November 21, 2015 Backroom Posted November 21, 2015 Best sent off on his debut for Rotherham
RevidgeBlue Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Didn't realise Leon Best had gone to Rotherham but apparently he's been sent off on his debut. No comment required I don't think.
Norbert Rassragr Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Coventry top of League 1 after smashing 2nd placed Gillingham 4-1. We might have a game on astroturf next season.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Best sent off on his debut for Rotherham I'm surprised he got bothered enough to get sent off !
Pedro Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Best sent off on his debut for Rotherham What a tit.
Bucksrover Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Bolton 2 down already. Lennon can't have long left. Many wanted him at Ewood. Wouldn't swap Lambert for him, that's for sure
roverandout Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Coventry top of League 1 after smashing 2nd placed Gillingham 4-1. We might have a game on astroturf next season. No we won't, we will be playing man u, Chelsea and Liverpool next season
Ewooduknow Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 No we won't, we will be playing man u, Chelsea and Liverpool next season I think today should lower expectations of those thinking like that. Lambert clearly has work to do if we are to challenge at the top in the future.
philipl Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 We got the win today and that is all that matters. Lambert now has a full week to work on the players before the Wednesday game and if he can grind out wins with the squad he has got, then that is all we can ask for. PNE was a tough first game considering the run they had been on recently. The other results were interesting and thank goodness we did get the win- a defeat and we would just be 2 points above relegation tonight. The Brum unexpected home defeat brings us within 8 points of the play-offs....
roverandout Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Reading the Fulham forum, its incredible the similarities between ourselves and them, they have no faith in their owner, want a proper manager after and experiment and believe they need to be back in the premier league, they aren't happy with losing out on Lambert or some of the name they have been linked with like the Walsall manager.
Jock Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Has Mr Creosote been sacked at Bellend Road yet?
