Backroom DE. Posted December 6, 2015 Backroom Posted December 6, 2015 I really hope Bowyer goes to Sheff Utd and bores them to tears, can't stand that lot after seeing some of their fans antics up close down the years. One of the most boorish and yobbish sets around so I hope they stay where they are and he's just the man for that but he wouldn't last 5 mins there, they are quite passionate and demanding. Too big for that division for sure but overall a bog standard sized city club with over inflated expectations. I think he'll come to appreciate the passiveness of our fanbase during his tenure once he experiences the frustrations of another fanbase that has no connection to him and hasn't been beaten into submission by 5 years of continuous destruction.

For sure he will. That spell last mid season would see him crucified at some places where he's gone in as an outsider with no previous to give him a bit of grace.
Newera Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 For me, Nigel Clough has a similar approach to bowyer and sheff utd fired him not long back.
tomphil Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I hope Gaz gets fixed up at a steady club I really do but I think he needs to be realistic in his aims. Forget the Sheff Utds and Readings of this world and look to the Oldhams etc.

A lot better than him have gone back to what they know best - no shame in it.
the original david brent Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 The win yesterday moved us into 3rd in the championship form table. Boro and Derby are above us and Brighton are 4th. Our recent away record of 10 out of 12 is a great return.

Sounds like he sees himself as a no 1 now, can't blame him really although I think he should go back and stick to what he knows best. He'll have got used to managers wages as well so that'll probably be a driving force in his quest for new employment.
scotchrover Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35034077 Bolton expecting a winding-up order, in the coming days.... You've gotta hand it to Gartside and whoever else is running that lot, because it takes a blinder to outdo our owners, at financial mismanagement!
Mattyblue Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 From the Bolton paper, they look in a very bad way: http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/14129697.Wanderers_crisis__Whites_face_winding_up_order_over_unpaid_tax_while_Gartside_remains__gravely_ill_/
BlueMonday Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Has Davies no money, or is he just refusing to finance the Club any more.
Backroom Tom Posted December 7, 2015 Backroom Posted December 7, 2015 Really hope they survive - maybe not thrive but I wouldn't like to see them disappear.
SoldierMo Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 But what about the money Mercerman said they had for Jordan Rhodes
koi Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 There's suggestions that the accounts show Davies has taken a fair bit of money out of the club and it's unclear how much he's actually put in in real terms. The Dean Holdsworth bid is an interesting one as it would appear one of the potential investors has a very shady past and it will be interesting to see how he would past the fit and proper test. Think this is the bloke: http://www.lep.co.uk/news/local/lancashire-businessman-jonathan-disley-s-millionaire-world-was-make-believe-1-5592365

Athlete Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Whats bringing them down is hmrc they haven't paid the wages for November hence not paid tax.. If hmrc bring a winding up order there doomed to admin unless a takeover happens and new owners pay wages etc.. The people who it will hit most are the normal staff who won't be on a lot and with Xmas approaching
tomphil Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 They were being financed by an offshore thing in the Virgin Islands, also Burnden leisure are the actual owners in name. Maybe Davies is sick of being bled dry and maybe it was borrowed or investors money after all and not his own. Just goes a long way to show though that it's not always foreign ownership that's dodgy! Not paying the taxman is gross misconduct though.

Mattyblue Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Interesting post Abs. Amazing just how much bitterness all our neighbours have towards a 'nothing club like BRFC' .
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 8, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted December 8, 2015 Yep, they are weirdos like PNE fans with their obsession about us. Always found it odd. At least with the Dingles they are our actual rivals, that lot and PNE are just bitter and jealous.
PeteJD13 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 http://www.the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=24749&start=20 for those feeling sorry for Bolton fans....DON'T . HOW THEY MOCKED US . its called KARMA I'm with Abbey on this, quite a few of my friends are Bolton fans they mocked and laughed at us over the years, whilst I wouldn't like to see them go bust, this has certainly levelled a few of them out. It's strange the dislike they have for us and see us as a derby game. I never really see them as a derby at all, my dislike stems from my experiences of Bolton fans having worked there for a number of years. The should look forward to having a derby back when they play Bury next season!
Backroom DE. Posted December 8, 2015 Backroom Posted December 8, 2015 Seems like Bolton weren't as secure in their debts as their fans were led to believe. Price of the club now dropped to £15m. http://www.the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=24749&start=20 for those feeling sorry for Bolton fans....DON'T . Also there are whispers that the HRMC are to investigate over non payment of tax. Karma indeed.
OJRovers Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Time for Lancashire United? Venkys to save Bolton?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Time for Lancashire United? Venkys to save Bolton? They need to save Rovers first !
Bucksrover Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 The Bolton example is another indictment on the joke that is financial fair play. I remember Bolton dodged an embargo by over declaring losses the year before they were assessed so they seemed to lose less for the FFP assessors. If they go to the wall then there will be a great example of FFP failing to do what was claimed it was set up for.
