sambo Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I don't want them to go bust, but I am very much enjoying Bolton's current predicament. Their childish obsession and determination to turn us into their 'Burnley' is odd. Also, their chavvy fans always trying to attack fans as they leave their soulless ground is another bone of contention for me. Karma.

Iceman Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 You don't laugh at us, and get away with it. No Nay Never
Amo Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Seems like Bolton weren't as secure in their debts as their fans were led to believe. Price of the club now dropped to £15m. Karma indeed. Daaamn, that was cringey how they call us their 'six fingered neighbours'. sambo beat me to it.
koi Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I'm rather enjoying it. I've taken plenty off Bolton fans over the last few years.
had.e.nuff Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 if they went to the wall it would make the league a bit tighter as we would only loose 1 point and most above us would loose 3 points
Blue blood Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Gray has taken over as caretaker no 1 coach at Fulham (the ex Sheff Wed boss.) BUT the club have said they're still looking for a head coach. The whole situation seems very odd bordering on madness. Gray has a very hard job going in their both being new and temporary. Also the head coach thing must be putting people off as well. Another situation in football where the more I read the more stupid the situation appears.
BlueMonday Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Decent supporters tend to be the silent majority at Most clubs. So personally think it is harsh to want a club to go under just because of historical banter/trash talk from rival supporters. Hope the Trotters sort their money problems and we don't loose a Lancashire Rival.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Clubs like Rovers and Bolton will never go under, there is always a way out.
LewisF Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I'm with Abbey on this, quite a few of my friends are Bolton fans they mocked and laughed at us over the years, whilst I wouldn't like to see them go bust, this has certainly levelled a few of them out. It's strange the dislike they have for us and see us as a derby game. I never really see them as a derby at all, my dislike stems from my experiences of Bolton fans having worked there for a number of years. The should look forward to having a derby back when they play Bury next season! Bury will probably be in the champ by then, above Bolton!
whatdial Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Gray did a very good job at Wednesday with no money. He got us organised and we improved as a team under him. The team spirit he created was good as well. This seems to me that Fulham are trying to stay up and haven't got any cash to spend.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Bolton, Fulham, Leeds - wannabe basket cases. You'll never beat the Venkys.
BlueMonday Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Bolton, Fulham, Leeds - wannabe basket cases. You'll never beat the Venkys. On the Football League Show Sat night, they discussed Boltons situation and the problems of football finances. Leeds got a mention as another club in crisis, but no mention of Rovers. Until recently we were the Case Study for a club in crisis. Have we been rehabilitated in the medias eyes?
JHRover Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 One thing I have noticed since Lambert's appointment has been an improvement in our reputation in the eyes of the all powerful Sky Sports. I was watching the Middlesbrough v Everton League Cup game last week and on three separate occasions the commentator was discussing Middlesbrough's tough fixtures December which include games against the top six teams and a trip to Lambert's 'rejuvenated' Blackburn. The same thing was then said during the highlights on Channel 5 on Saturday night. It seems they are now considering us more of a threat than previously and we are also reaping the benefits of having a manager with friends in 'high places' who will perhaps take us more seriously than before and treat us with more respect. No doubt when the news that the embargo is no more filters through to the far corners of the football universe then there will be no more mentions of our financial state which has been dragged up every five minutes since last year, often by people with no real understanding of FFP or Blackburn Rovers, and we will be treated like any other club in this league with wealthy owners entitled to bankroll their club if they wish.
tomphil Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 We also seem to be getting more airings on live tv this season compared to last. We've even popped up on a few adverts for the championship etc when usually we tend to not exist at all. Ex Sky man been doing a lot of favour calling in the background maybe.

The team spirit he created was good as well. This seems to me that Fulham are trying to stay up and haven't got any cash to spend. Good comment and analysis. My only thought is if that's the case why not appoint him permanently or till the end of the season. This temporary malarky does no one any favours. Or if he won't stay long term why? What does that say about the club?
Mattyblue Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I would say the reason for more TV is this seasons Sky deal for the Football League has massively increased the amount of live matches, I presume to make up for all their losses to BT. So, that's why we are seeing Thursday nights, Friday nights, Saturday 12.30pm, Sunday 1pm and Monday nights. Has its drawbacks when you then have to play two night matches at home in four days in the run up to Christmas.

And there is no Easter fixtures next year due to insignificant International friendlies being played. As a traditionalist who has never not known football over Christmas or Easter that saddens me.
chaddyrovers Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Looking like Brian McDermott will be Reading next manager
roverandout Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Poor unimaginative appointment by reading, he went through a purple patch getting them promoted, shown his deficiencies at Leeds, would be akin to us reappointing bowyer down the line, makes Lambert's appointment look like a master stroke more and more compared to recent championship appointments.

Agree. Doubt he'll last 12 months.
chaddyrovers Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Agree. Doubt he'll last 12 months. Strange choice tbh. Thought they would go for Pearson. Maybe the former Reading Owner who is still Chairman there recommend McDermott to be next manager there

Like us appointing GB down the line ..? reallyyyy ??? BM took Reading to ninth ..the play offs then automatic promotion in three seasons , taking them into the Premier League with no investment totally p*ssing over what GB did and will ever do wherever he surfaces again. Then took Leeds on ..which was only ever going to end one way. Decent MANAGER ..and a decent BLOKE. BM 2- GB 0
Amo Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 would be akin to us reappointing bowyer down the line Not...really. Reading progressed season-by-season under McDermott: playoff final in his first year, league champions after that. Under Bowyer, aside from an actual purple patch towards the end of 13/14, we were mediocre for most of his term.
