Fulham have confirmed that they have been placed under a transfer embargo for January.

Refreshing to see someone else get punished for their huge spending in recent years. They say they will be free from the embargo next summer, so I imagine that coping with an embargo for just this January will cause minimal disruption to them.

Bolton also embargoed. Possibly the most pointless thing I have ever seen in football when they can't even pay their current players and could be in administration/wound up before the end of January.

If Bolton had been embargoed 12 months or more ago then they may not have ended up in this mess. Surely that's the idea of the FFP etc, completely ridiculous just like letting Fulham SPEND millions to put a decent side together then slap it on them. Still puzzling how some others are getting around it though.

Forest still under the embargo too. Thankfully Bowyer signed and made £10m on Rudy and Cairney or else we'd still be under too.

Bolton didn't even submit any figures for consideration. Fulham were spending ridiculous amounts. How the hell Boro (£7m for Downing and £70k pw wages) have met FFP is a mystery. That goes for a few other clubs too.

be interesting to see what fine B'mouth pay, considering QPR are still fighting it. FFP is a good idea implemented in a shambolic way.

It does seem odd how we have managed to get our house in order from the shambles of 12-18 months ago with eyewatering losses whilst Forest, despite selling Antonio, Lascelles and Darlow for substantial amounts have failed to comply once again.

I'm not complaining because it either means Venkys have pumped a hell of a lot of money in to reach compliance or we have someone running the club who is savvy and clued up when it comes to meeting these rules when other clubs are still failing them.

Losses permitted going forward increase to £13 million, which ought to give us a bit more breathing space.

Bournemouth being found guilty of breaking the rules takes the shine off the myth that they are a plucky little club enjoying the fairytale ride. The only reason they got up was by spending someone else's money, though I doubt they are bothered about the League's ruling. As QPR have shown, once a club makes it to the Premier League then the FL can do nothing.

Speaking of QPR, conveniently no mention of them in the announcement today. Or Leicester, who were still in discussions about their own accounts from when they got promoted. Its an absolute disgrace that these clubs still haven't been dealt with.

Fulham supporters won't be best pleased they are being punished whilst their close neighbours up the road at QPR are still getting away with it.

Bolton's situation really is desperate. It's one thing failing FFP rules, quite another to not even be able to submit accounts to the League for inspection.

As I understand it owners are only allowed to put in a max of £3m for the current period, this goes up next year.

Tom Cairney, the portable embargo cloud.

Poor lad. I think he was told he was leaving Rovers rather than looking for a move.

Football is in quite a precarious state at the moment. Transfer embargoes are not the answer. Clamping down on football agents taking millions out of the game is what needs to happen. Another unanticipated side effect of the legacy left by Jimmy Hill. Power wasn't transferred to the players from clubs it was taken by the intellectual vacuum exploited by the middlemen.

Bolton have so many problems at the moment, I doubt complying FFP is anywhere near the top of the list. Not really going to matter whether they are under embargo or not, they don't have a pot to pee in anyway.

It seems like Forest are making no effort to get out of FFP they must just be hoping for promotion i wonder how Middlesbrough , QPR and Derby have avoided it again

It seems clubs are ignoring it anyway and just spending then taking the rap of an embargo. Another idiotic football rule brought In by suits who don't know their backsides from their elbows, don't really give a stuff but like to be seen to be doing something.

No wonder people with the IQ's of a frog infiltrate this stupid industry and exploit it for all they can and get away with it.

FFP needs to be done on a transfer by transfer basis. You have to show you can afford to buy a players without incurring debt before the move is sanctioned.

So if owners want to put cash into a club, they can do, but not as debt/loans.

Is that the rule, or is that what you think the rule should be?
