He's needing someone like Brown as a target man.

^_^

No, he's missed a few sitters. They show the highlights on SSN and I've got to say, he really should've scored two of the ones I caught. One was an easy volley from 6 yards which he put over the bar, the other was a point blank header that he headed straight at the keeper.

Not showing why they paid £9m for him that's for sure!

Assisted their second goal though didn't he?

Yeah - he headed it down for their 2nd.

Just found it quite amusing that Rhodes was getting so badly slated on SSN - not passing judgement about whether letting him go was a good/bad decision! Everybody is allowed a bad day at the office

(Arguably not 11 players on a pitch at the same time, and not as many as the Rovers squad has had in the last few seasons, mind you...)

No he's a Southerner, seems to me that the consortium was initially set up with the idea of looking for a club to buy as opposed to set up to take over Bolton.

Sports Shield Investments Ltd was set up in July 2015, and Sports Shield BWFC Ltd was set up in December 2015, both have only Holdsworth listed as a active director with no shareholders. No doubt the money will be enjoying an holiday in an exotic place before finding its way to Bolton.

Some people on here probably see that as almost foreign! :D

Hull notched another away win without conceding - nailed on for promotion

Boro fans not impressed with Rhodes - missed a host of chances. If they'd come on here they'd know he misses more than he scores.

Churlish and bitter. Every striker misses more than he scores. Not many have scored more than Rhodes in the last five years though.

42 points enough to stay up last season. 16 games to get 8 points? Surely we will manage that?

No guarantees of course that that will be enough this year but the bottom 3 seem marooned. 16 points from 13 games is a tall order for them.

I usually target 45-50 for survival. At the moment its looking unlikely any of the bottom three will get there, but all it takes is a late surge and the situation can change very quickly. I think we'll need at least 3-4 wins and a few draws to get the 12-15 points needed.

I still think that Rotherham and Bolton will close the gap. Rotherham have tightened up in defence under Warnock with a 0-0 against Birmingham followed by narrow defeats away at Burnley and Reading. By the sounds of things they could easily have got a result in both those away games at tough grounds to go to.

Bolton have improved recently and their home form is quite strong.

At the moment we're 8 clear (basically 9 with goal difference) with 3 games in hand. In theory we should be fine, although the 3 games in hand are Derby and Ipswich away and Middlesbrough at home. All very tough. MK Dons at home on Saturday is huge. Win that and its a massive step to safety.

Sky Sports up to their old tricks again. This morning they have announced that Middlesbrough's game at Charlton, which had been scheduled for Saturday 12th March, will now be on live TV on Sunday 13th March. A very helpful 17 days notice for supporters.

So all those Middlesbrough supporters, many of whom will have already bought coach or train tickets or hotels in London are told less than 3 weeks in advance that the game has moved to suit Sky Sports. Disgraceful.

There should be a clause that prevents Sky from doing this so close to a game. At the very least Middlesbrough fans who will be out of pocket should be recompensed.

http://www.mfc.co.uk/news/article/2016/middlesbrough-boro-sky-sports-charlton-2971412.aspx- doesn't make up for Sky being goons, but it helps.
